They need to upgrade those animations and perhaps go dual wield. The moment I saw for the first time a machinist fighthing I lost all my interest and I was looking forward to become one.

No, we have one of each type of job now. Though I'd love to see Musketeer, or a Gunblade class in 5.0.
Nah, I mean its my main DPS class (MNK is 2nd) I dropped BRD instantly to use, level & master MCH granted I also Main PLD & AST for my healer & tank times (Still mastering AST & PLD is always 1st to lv & gear in "new" tome gear/relic). I'm also good with lv60 BRD, feals like I'm casting a symphony when I do use it but love guns in a medevil fantasy game so much BRD is dead to me... I will level it to lv70 in expansion thou just it sits near dead last in my lv60 to 70 list
I would prefer a Cater style (FF Type-0) rather than we have now.
It depends on what skills it gets in SB.
I loathed Bard in ARR, and I love it in HW...more skills and a change in playstyle can really revolutionize thing, and I absolutely LOVE the gunblade mod thing people are mentioning here
I'd actually prefer not to have a gunblade. I main MCH now, and why I do is because it's rotation is so complex, and I favor jobs that have very little downtime and lots to do. That's why MCH and MNK are my favorites- lots of skillweaving and frenetic combat. I do think MCH relies a bit too much on RNG and buffs/debuffs, and a good deal of my fights is managing to get off clean shot combos while I wait on Wildfire/Rapid Fire/Reload to come off CD so I can blow something's head off. A big complaint I have about MCH though, is actually it's preformance in level 50 and below content. It's in this weird situation... a lot of bards hate Minuet, but MCH was actually built around Gauss use, so when you don't have it, a lot of the nuances(Rapid Fire, procs, and OGCDs ignoring Gauss cast time) are lost and it really feels like it lacks a lot of the punch it has in level 60 content.
It does need some work, but I like it for a reason, and while I plan to try RDM I don't see MCH being something I'd abandon that easily.
Yeah I do agree with what people say..I play it and love it but....It relies way too much on RNG I hate sitting there with ammo down spamming the same skill 7+ times or more and it not giving me a proc.
I main machinist in PvE since I really like the aesthetic. I'd only drop it as my main if there was a job I really fell in love with or if we got chemist/a true magitek based job
