It still does allow for a pay to win. You can just use real money to become easily rich in game, And that's why I'm against any form of RMT.

Never heard of sell runs? sell runs with loot? no?
-_-
great idea
the skilled playerbase shrinks and the less skilled playerbase buy gil to earnt rare gear from carry runs, mounts etc etc
More gil in the system, prices drop, people buy more, eventually gil will be worthless, no one will do anything but buy gil to buy in game items, yay yippie, GREAT IDEA, no really :D ><
How do you "win" with gil in FFXIV? Gil won't make you a raider, gil won't lift the weekly tomestone cap, you can't buy the best gear with gil, at most you can access materia V slightly faster than other people and even then the DPS you gain from materia is very low, I forgot the actual number but it was something like less than 3%.
People can already buy runs without having sub tokens implemented in the game.
I see your points.
I'm all for it.
I'll ju$t $pend my money on game time for my friend. Becau$e people $uddenly went from hating the Ca$h $hop to making $ugge$tion$ on what to add next. What in the $ane hell i$ going on, guy$? $eriou$ly.
Yes they can
but if you look at the prices needed for a full tier clear on say Midas Savage? with loot? even now, you would be looking at hundreds of millions in gil, few people outside of hardcore sell run groups and hardcore crafters has access to such funds, if SE offer reduced gil for purchase to the masses, more people will buy gil and things will go mad ><
The game is a lot more than about End Gear, for example:
- Want a big FC/Personal house: Why not Sell Cash-Shop items and use money to buy the house directly. Very fair to the other FCs who were worked their butt off collecting gils trying to buy that nice house that you have earned doing nothing in game for it.
- Got a new rare items/decos to be sold or bought on the marketboard? Why bothering with a normal price when you know Cash-Shop items sellers can afford for artificially overprice. Screw the regular gils earners..
Etc..
I rather like how Blizzard handled theirs. Can only purchase something like 24 tokens every 2 years and it's a secure purchase and sale since it's through the auction house and their online store. It wouldn't hurt anyone other than the gil sellers and would also help people with making some gil. I have never had any luck with market boards/auction houses so I'm pretty poor on a constant basis.
Token system is a good idea. Worked well in all the games its been in.
