If a Paladin does tanking better than a Gladiator...well...what else do you really use Gladiator for besides tanking? While I'm sure there are people who would like to throw on some cross class skills to form a makeshift DD, ultimately Paladin can replace Gladiator in tanking situations all around. Same with White Mage replacing Conjurer in any given healing role.

But IF the classes still remain useful even with the implementation of jobs, then by all means, keep them.

How about you can't enter to fight hard mode ifrit without jobs? or do dungeon that = 8 players? that mean even if PUG is better DD in the eyes of the players it does not matter and it should really be like that can't enter without a job.

The forums are about talking about anything that is about FFXIV even things that wont be added for over 1year so the thread is not pointless.

hmm even tho it would be best for players to use jobs in these instances, i think it should be left up to the players and party leader on what they want in their party.

Cause what if we cant find another DD? and there is a Gladiator seeking? it would be pointless to have 2 paladins, we can invite the second Gladiator and have him equip all the DD skills while the other Gla can be the paladin.

Even if there is 2 Cons seeking, and we need a caster? one con can be a Whm, while other can equip Fire, Ice, and such..

I think it should be left open to keep versatility while making parties.

100% agree with you.

A little worried about combos though, really don't want massive XYZ popping up on screen etc, I think that kind of stuff should be left to sp games.

From what I understand, the OP ask for new class skill along side with the upcoming 1.20 and 1.21. SE planning to fix those step by step as first they ll fix the class identity, and the current skill setup /class can use from other class at 1.20, with 1.21 there ll be new skill for job and later there for sure will have skill fix for class as well or skill replace so it fit with the new system. So my point is if SE have already plan fix them step by step instead of fix them all at once why bother to ask them to fix all at once ? it is better to see them fix step by step so it can show some ppl that they are actually working their ass on fix thing instead of give a huge update and encounter a lot of thread : Q.Q they dont fix crap, the game fail, bla bla bla
