I took time off the game and I can't even get into an A5 to start to UNLOCK A8. It's literally impossible because nobody queues for them.

I think they should really rebalance the ilvl requirements to add different weights to different slots. As well as implement it for leveling dungeons. The number of times I ran into tanks using ilvl 90 weapons in Sohm Ahl (leveling alts), where they really should have ilvl 125 (or hell, at least 115!) gear was astounding.

Definitely - A new weapon (or chest) is far, far more valuable than a new accessory and consequently higher priced, but they both count the same for average iLvL. You can have a full 260 right side, a full level 1 left side and you'd still be able to do any of the 50s dungeons in that, to name an extreme example. You shouldn't even be able to do Brayflox in that >_>

I definitely think that weapons are weighted too heavily as far as performance goes. It's just way too big a contributor to your output for how difficult it is to upgrade. Rather than enacting some kind of ridiculous restrictions on people for not being able to upgrade their weapons, let's have weapons be less of a big deal. Spread out the numbers to secondary stats more so that they're more important.

Weapons should still be a big deal.. but right now they're far too big a deal.

The ilvl restriction could be also changed to "min ilvl" instead of "average min ilvl".
at the moment we have average min ilvl: the average of your gear has this ilvl
better would be min ilvl: every piece of your gear has at least this ilvl

This content isn't meant to have restrictions since it is very easy. This never bothered me.

THIS! I've never understood why only trials, Savage raids & story mode dungeons have the tendency to drop weapons. It's over a year since HW appeared & the only way to get good lvl60 weapons in HW exclusive content is the EX, Savage or tomestone method. Of course they can be crafted but theoretically even ARR players could buy those, even if unable to use them.

I would love weapon drops in dungeons so I could actually level my blacksmith desynthesis from dungeons. Even alchemists would finally have something to desynth with the books.

How often does it happen that you find someone in EX with such a low weapon? I never saw that before. Most people are way overgeared for that faceroll stuff anyway.

Quite often. You also see people with random crap on the right side to hit the ilevel. There was a discussion on Reddit recently regarding people using the terrible i250 NQ weapons to get into the 3.4 content too.
