Having a horn drop which crafters can make into a weapon and sell/trade freely messes that up. You may think the following statement sounds elitist, but I don't care. I don't want Joe Lancer running around with the same gear I've obtained through defeating difficult NMs or instanced content because he has a fat wallet.
Edit: Need or Greed system is still the best system in my opinion, and from interviews it is what Yoshi is leaning towards. It still has the RNG aspect (which keeps players occupied in possibly having to clear content multiple times), but alleviates the rage induced by the current RNG on top of RNG system.
