What people? You and some others like you? I for one love the current system. It lets players obtain good equipment by working everyday, no RNG involved; everyone's efforts are rewarded. It also gives us new goals to work for every few months (and new glamour possibilities). And last but not least, it's kind to newbies and alts, since those don't have to sweat blood in order to catch up with the veterans. So I'm personally very happy with the route Yoshida has taken.

Well since Yoshida basically made his stance known, are people still going to play and expect things to change?

Well, server populations already have told the answer to that. 3.4 won't heal the damage already done by Legion and this game incapability to retain players. If the expansion is announced, but no fundamental changes are coming with it in the coming months, 3.5 could potentially mean the end of this game as we know it, best case escenario, we will see a lot of server merges to try to make populations get back into healthy numbers (problem i don't expect you to understand since you play in Balmung, which basically is another game than the rest of us play) worse case escenario, we going F2P because this game, if population keeps leaking, would not be sustainable with lower populations than we have, and seems that Yoshida isn't interested in fixing that.

Well, atleast I can predict patches 1 year in advance and catch up with people who have been playing for 3 years in 1 month whenever I decide to take a break. :)
That's why this game will stay 1 month subscription per 6 months thing for so many people, there is no reason for them to play longer.

the game will live way past 3.5, i will say you did say *could* and nothing is impossible when you say could.

i could run into a million dollars tommorrow but most likely won't happen, the game could fail in 3.4 or 3.5, 4.0 5.0 6.0 tomorrow but the chances are pretty slim.

Yoshida himself said that is ok for players to go and play other games and then come back for things to feel fresh. That is his design philosophy basically, he expect us all to just play 1 month each 3 or 6 months.

I'm so glad that Yoshi-P confirmed that is paying attention to the silent players, were the mayority is.

Honestly you are way exagerating if you think this game will die. The current system is good, and it let me do a lot of irl stuff.

ooh the doomsayer's are back , i thought they died out in 2.3 or so :p
