Low level tanks (pre-tank stance) have a very hard time holding threat after the nerf

Not really. Depending on what level you started as and how good your items were, level sync can give you stats that exceed what a character in that dungeon's level range would normally be at.

Regardless it doesn't help characters trying to level up when a tank can't hold threat because his threat output isn't high enough.

Also anyone saying "tank is undergeared" is ignoring the fact I have seen tanks in level appropriate gear do their mechanics right, and still lose threat. It's only tanks who are level synced down to the dungeon that seem to have few issues pre-40.

You seem to have forgotten all the quests and FATEs a player has to do in order to get high enough to even do dungeons, many of which unlock as part of the story mode quests. And many of these quests are done mandatory solo.

And if you want to bring fates into it, there's 50-60 fates as well

There's a TON of 50 msq quests, then 50-60 side quests, 50-60 msq quests

You made the argument the tank issue doesn't matter because it only impacts low level, new tank players and those who end up with them in DF.

I retorted that the bulk of the game content is low level stuff and if the game is frustrating for low level new players, they may stop playing the game.

Now that you've lost your original argument because the facts do not support your point of view, how about stop trolling the thread instead of trying to insist you're correct?

And I stand by what I said

Low level doesn't matter because in the grand scheme of things.

New updates to the game don't add new low level dungeons, they don't add new low level quests, they don't add balance changes to low level or even old irrelevant content

It adds new endgame content and or miscellaneous content like gold saucer, which has nothing to do with tanking obviously

The bulk of the game is NOT low level content

Some tanks could have emnity issues before the vit changes
Nothing has drastically changed

Before the change, if a geared dps got paired up with an unsynced tank without tank stance who's gear is even on par with the dungeon, they were very likely to pull hate

It's the same as it is now

The only difference is a tank might have to work a little harder to keep aggro

I stand by my other statement, they should not balance the game around low level content. If a new player quits the game because they couldn't keep aggro in a dungeon, I doubt they would've stayed to play the game anyway

You're seriously suggesting they revert a balance change that would drastically alter the end game balance for the sake of low level tanks having an easier time keeping hate

Maybe the next time you do a dungeon run with an unsync'd Tank and your concern happens, mind if you screenshot the tank's gear or something? Pretty sure that you can do it easily since you're claiming that IT'S rampant these days.

I've only seen it on tanks who's heavily undergeared compared to the DPS.

Low level content matters in terms of tanks retention on principle, if they struggle with enmity before they reach the time between getting their tanking stance and (semi-)endgame they might be put off enough to drop tanking totally. The most pressure when I play any class in this game is when I tank, it was even more apparent before I got Shied Oath as PLD.

No they don't, use more Flash/Overpower/Unleash. No dps is beating 600 potency of enmity per gcd before tank stances are available.

Yes, they do. All you need is a tank that is doing level appropriate content without twink gear and people higher leveled doing the leveling roulette and they will rip hate off especially when they don't focus on the initially engaged target and spread their own enmity across the pack while you will potentially run out of MP to cast flash. It happened to me few times. Also, flash isn't 600 enmity per GCD, it's 500. Using Rage of Halone off-combo might save you the MP but what new tank will know that without reading enmity tables?

No, it was buffed to 600 ages ago, I confirmed it myself. That's about triple what most dps jobs will do per gcd <40, if you're losing aggro then you're incredibly undergeared, not in appropriate gear.
