Grabbed this from similar post in response to a "melee healer" xD
Maybe a melee healer with drg+ like defense. (Heal spells would still be ranged)
Ranged mode: below average Healer ranged dps using mp. Focus on single target healing bonus. Possibly less defense.
Melee: more potent dps form with attacks that use tp, focus on aoe healing bonus.
They could add a separate skill equivalent to cleric stance so whm wouldn't be a must for cross class and skills that drain tp for mp to heal with.
They would juggle mp/tp, ranged/melee stance, and a str/mind/(possibly int if the range stance swaps int/str.) cleric stance. :3 would be interesting
Yeah at the moment the only thing we have are mage healers. So dancer and chemist come to mind maybe even necro/blood mage that it. Lol the problem is the mechanics of gameplay not the lack of job and right now we really don't have much. Example we have white mage for raw healing, scholar that makes barriers, and Astro does both. We need a healer that uses TP to heal example Dancer or Chemist. We need a healer that heals using damage may something like Necro/Blood Mage use (Drain spells). And if square wants to be even more creative why not make a healer that has to attack party members to heal.( think of masures in Ff12) something like a Mathematecian) lore wise its already there ain't arcanima uses geometric shapes to use magice and geometry is math lol
A bard/machinist kind of healer throwing syringes at people would be just...just *dies*
Heals would be all instant but with less range so they would need to run around like crazy trowing syringes to heal people.
(Or maybe with less potency but more range?....no?.....ok)

I can dream.....right?
I like the idea of a melee healer. Something like an armored cleric smashing things with a mace and tossing out mitigation buffs, like a Paladin that focuses on heals rather than tanking. Give then stuns and interrupts to cover the utility the other healers lack.
If you want a new healing mechanic for tjis game EQ2 shamans specialty was reactive heals. In short youd place a buff with a short timer and a proc count (100% chance tho) that would go down every hit. So i.e. The adloq/aspected benefic slot heal would say apply a 10-30s buff that would heal for 150-200 potency heal for up to say 10-20 hits. Might be possible to use the concept with dancer.
Tho the syringe flinger sounds fun. Reminds me of the physician in rift, sryinge tipped arrows archer/healer... Mayble they could use a syringe launching crossbow! Also gives us another ranged weapon class...
Still kindof want dancer tho...
That physical healer has to be a hybrid and be able to go ranged or like someone says, something like judgement nise pops up and those kind of healers will be kicked 100% of the time.
Maybe take the Wanderer's Minuet/Gauss Barrel mechanic and create a mode that adds a cast time to skills but turns off auto-attack. Have it turn skills ranged and you have another new mechanic made from a pre-existing one, though also penalize it by taking away a minor buff or something. It would be something new, versatile, and also slightly inferior to the class's melee game but not enough to discourage its use.
I'm also a fan of player-centric auras, which the game has only dabbled in. There are ground-targetted auras like Sacred Soil, but the only player aura is AST's and it's a channeled ability, so an actual aura mechanic would be similarly "fresh-but-not-really".
Though all I really want is to see a healer that can wear something other than cloth. >_>;
