Significant decrease in Materials from Gathering Favors - Patch 3.07

The wikipedia page gives some examples that make it clear that an increase of 300% means its 400% of the initial value. To my understanding of and by have the same meaning here. An increase to 300% would mean its 300% of the initial value, which would be the correct wording for what they did.

In german it is:

Die Auffindrate von versteckten Sammelstellen wurde verdreifacht.

which means: The rate is tripled. So the english one is a bit misleading.

I think the matron favor: Sea of Clouds was hurt pretty bad by the new timeframe. The gathering nodes are spread so far apart that with sprinting between short gaps/flying between longer gaps I can barely make 2 rounds around all 6 nodes, only 10 nodes total if void nuts are popping. Just seems like the nodes here are spread my more than other regions.

Well the point being that there truly is no different way of saying it. In English, and in english math, a 300% increase always means 400% of the old value.
Because that is the meaning of the phrase. To increase (to add to, to add with) 300%.

Remember that wikipedia is a wiki, people do get things wrong when they write wikis.
However, regardless of how Fluent the notes' readers might be in English, they could of avoided this by simply directly translating the text:

IE: Trippled. Or 3x

there are two places with lvl 60 botanist nodes in SoC, the second one has node pairs that are closer together but gives less useful mats.

Holy shit. I thought there was only 1 place in each region with 60 nodes as my favor strategy up to this point was go where sharp vision II takes me lol thanks. Are there other regions like that too?

no, afaik this is the only one.

Tried out 5 favors, I think I got lucky. 2 favors @ 4 mats 2 favors @ 5 mats and 1 favor @ 7 mats. With a grand total of 22 red ooids and 3 red roundstones.

Yeah it does. x 300% and increased by (x) 300% is not the same.

x300% = 100% x 300% = 300%

Whereas:

Increased by 300 % = 100% + 300% = 400%


In math, the first is an example of a multiplier, the second an adding to.

In English it can be misunderstood if you don't grasp the subtleties of the language as well I suppose, but in math? o_O
