Gathering global timers have to go... Personal Cooldowns for nodes.

I personally think it is fine the way it is. =/

Unless you give every single timed item it's own individual cooldown timer then this would indeed make the nodes themselves less valuable. Hell even just giving them the timer as you explain will make items less valuable just by the fact that I can log in grab whatever darksteel I need instead of either waiting for the timer, or buying it from the marketboard. The timer in itself enforces the scarcity of the items more than the time between gathering attempts.

Just as Blue scrips enforce scarcity of crafting items.

Now, yes, it will reduce the price a bit because the gathering will become again a system that many and not just a few would be able to enjoy, which will only develop into a healthier market which more interactions since still, many of the consumers of these items will rather buy bulks for time/cost efficiency, while others will just gather. Things will be more accesible, yes. But numbers shouldn`t move too much since the materials will face the same restrictions as before.

Ok. So now nodes are not contested anymore. That potentially means that one account per node. However bots since they have hundreds of accounts that means that node will generate X (X=Number of accounts per node). Instead of 1=1. Now botting for nodes becomes feasible because its not contested meaning you can generate 10,000 of the same resources from one node.

1=1=old way.
1=infinity=new way.

YES IT WILL LOWER VALUE. =D

Which would also help the teleport hackers. Since they can now go around at static areas making new accounts for each node.

Gatherers will not make as much money from their goods if stuff is uncontested.

And how do you get from lvl 1 gladiator to lvl 60 BiS miner in an hour to farm those nodes, huh ? Wow, congrats bots, you're getting better and better by the day...

Right now, in 1 hour, you can mine 24 darksteel ore max.
With the personal cooldowns, in 1 hour, you can mine 24 darksteel ore max.
The diference is that you choose when in that hour.

Now, if im understanding this right, there are yes, particular nodes that spawn at similar or same times as others, forcing a selection between nodes. For this, is just as simple as adding a "despawn" once one node is mined, this way, if you for example, mine adamantite, after you finish, you also spent your node on other spawn item of the same tier, this way, to solve those little diferences. Which actually, are exploted by the very minimal few speed hackers that can travers maps and warps fast enough to mine diferent nodes in a timegate of just 2 minutes where a regular player usually can`t.

Contested? Everyone can go and farm whatever node they want when the time is right, no one "fights" for nodes. No one can farm more from a single node than anyone else. 1 node = X amount of mats. That will left unchanged.

Your hacking, boting and multiaccount/character examples are way off, anyone doing that, for personal use or profit, is an exception which has no value against the game experience of the vast mayority of the playerbase. Besides, players that do profit hard from this system right now, already multi-account, so, if the actual system we have right now had the porpuse to "enforce scarcity" the players who want to, are already overcoming it. While, the rest, has to suffer a very badly thought gathering system that has 0 flexibility.

Sorry you don't understand this. The nodes may have the same timer but they are contested. Meaning there is only so much generating at a time. Making them uncontested would greatly lower the value of said items.

Hacking is part of the game unfortunately, and everything should go into equation when your doing math.

The second you make zones uncontested is the day you see 100 bots teleporting around all farming 1 node every hour. It will make it WORTHLESS.

I'm extremely confused by your post. It sounds like you're aying only a certain number of people can hit a node because it reaches some capacity?

But.... That's not how they work at all. Everyone online can hit that node (Secondary Edit-in: AND THEY WILL GET THE FULL BENEFIT OF THEIR NODE as determined by their gathering/perception) if they're in the area - weather it be 5 or 500 people, the only limit is you can gather from an unspoiled node only once as your individual character.

But say I have two characters on my account, both miners?

I can gather with Miner A, log off, and get on Miner B no problem and gather. Doesn't matter how many hit in between.

So could you explain your point a little better? Right now you make no sense to me.

In your example, you're assuming that the node has a max of 24 strikes, and that people are 'competing' for the strikes. However, the thing you need to understand is, that this isn't the case. Here's how it actually works:

Unspoiled Nodes spawn at specific times throughout the day. For Heavensward Unspoiled Nodes, this is for an Hour-long (Eorzean Time) period, every 12 eorzean hours (roughly 30 minutes.) During this period, everyone with a Miner of the appropriate level can go up to this node, and access it. Depending on your stats, you'll be given a number of strikes to collect ore from it.

So in your example, you said:
2=12 (24)
3=8 (24)
4=6 (24)

However, the way it actually works (and this assumes everyone can get their full 6 strikes; I don't actually know if lower gathering makes it so you can get the minimum [4] on the node)
2=12 (12)
3=18 (18)
4=24 (24)
5=30 (30)
6=36 (36)
^ and the cycle continues on forever. There is never a limit to the node. However, one person can only accumulate so many because of the limited number of strikes, and the fact that once you've used those strikes, the node is gone until the next time it becomes available.

There is no diminishing return per player.

So what happens when I want to farm gold ore after I get my Darksteel ore?

Instead of requiring coordination and each node is individually people can farm beyond what was possible with the timers, then mix in gatherers who have multiple classes leveled I can just switch to botanist and double up on rare items because I don't need to conserve GP and can hit the nodes whenever I want.

I don't even want to think about how bad the telebots would ruin the econimy in mere moments of such an implementation as well.

Thats an interesting notion. Still, people already bents this system as you say, our game economy is already mostly ruled by bots in many ways. As a method of making materials "bot-proof" the unspoiled mechanic as it is, is an utter failure.
Giving players the freedom of gathering when they want to, with some penalties on the number of total nodes they can hit per hour to keep scarcity, shouldn`t affect the markets too much. Still might give some issues of course, but ill trade some market "priviligie" for accesibility and fun any time of the day.

Requiring coordination is a thing. Having to shutdown activities or being forced to do microtimed content, is another entirely diferent. Most other MMORPGs manage high end materials in the way i describe, limiting the players be it on a set of time giving them total freedom of "when" to hit the nodes. We can all agree that no MMORPG has a perfect economy, much less this game, but at worse, what we would see is a re-estructuration of the economy as we know it, that might in fact, impulse much needed changes to the whole market board system...
