IMO, DRG is in a very fine position. The 50/50 proc keeps you on your toes, making you pay attention to more things than before, position, timer, etc.

There are some fights where positions are compromised and your dps will dip just a bit, but that shouldn't be a huge issue. MNKs have been dealing with positionals for EVERY SINGLE ATTACK since 2.0 therefore I think there is no need to change the random positionals at all.

DRG was made slightly easier when shifting positional of ID, and now it is more lively. Having a difficulty scale to climb isn't a bad thing at all. Folks just need to practice and find effective ways to DRG, and not cry about it not being easy. If you want an easy job go play PLD.

I'm also enjoying the DRG changes/additions as it stands as well. If they do anything I'd hope they leave the 50/50 proc in there and just limit changes to reducing the penalty a bit.

A change I would like to see that is not just limited to DRG, is for them to reduce the animation lock after finishing a LB. Not just to allow us to move out of a dangerous situation a bit faster, but also to help ease the timing required to perform an LB while trying to maintain our rotation and BotD.

I was watching a stream with someone translating and I could've sworn he said that's what they were alluding to. Mentioning fights like t11 and ravana where you're forced to miss positionals taking a chunky dps loss.

I am going to dread leveling DRG if they leave it as is. It's complexity just for the sake of it, and that isn't fun. It's not rewarding. You either do the damage you should be doing anyway, or you're punished.

What does this even mean.
You get bonus damage if you hit your positional, the complexity rewards you by boosting your damage when you properly execute it. It's literally the opposite of what you are saying.

It's fine if you say "it's not fun", "i don't like this mechanic", "it's too hard", "the bonus is not worth the difficulty", but please don't straight out lie about how the mechanic works.

I can't really agree with this on the basis that you call it "bonus" damage. A bonus is something extra, something not really needed to do your job. You NEED that potency to properly do your job.

No need to POTENTIALLY think I'm taking it too literally. Random positionals don't require any thought because you're not moving into position beforehand. So it's safe to say that changing them in any manner isn't going to "dumb it down."

Except you could get that same 290 potency at the end of both combos without Wheeling Thrust. It's literally "have the same PPS but with more complexity for no reason other than more complexity". So... no, Wheeling Thrust doesn't add any bonus to the job except in situations where the coin flip is agreeable with fight mechanics. Rarely, basically.

There's also 190 potency at the mercy of a coin flip during mechanics now.

I don't understand how people aren't understanding this. It's extremely simple.

You are seriously comparing DRG before and after getting the WT skill?

If we follow the logic of your argument, we should all go back to level one where the ability to optimise DPS at it's least complex. We should never learn new abilities because they just introduce complexity for complexity sake. At level 1 I could do maximum DPS just by pressing one button.
