Everyone's answered you already. Simplicity. This game was littered with needlessly complicated & ineffective systems. They are slowly, but surely, taking steps to correct this.

CHR is pretty much a random thing to throw in and very few things even used it in 11. Like someone said, Luck is potentially stupid OP or worthless enough to not bother with in games that have it.
The way things are now it's streamlined enough, makes sense, and there's an equal number of stats and elements. There's a lot of games where AGI/DEX is your hit and evasion rate and its nice to have the magic stats mirror the physical stats since it makes customization/gear selection more straightforward.
Not to mention adding more stats and calculations will take AGES ><
Plus look at FF7, that games has looooaaaaads of stats in your characters status window, did anybody actually bother with them? :p
I n ever said anything about adding luck ; ;..... please don't put words in my fingers. Yes, but through the definitions I said on the first place. BRD(when it comes out), and other buffs could be effected by CHR. AGI and DEX doesn't have to be evasion/acc. As the definition i stated above again, DEX could be mainly used for DOH. I don't wanna start an argument or anything(even though one has started). Again if they wanted to streamline it, they would have had auto attack during launch. Thats a different subject all together though.
It's not an arguement, it's a debate, people are saying "this probably happened to do this" etc.
I think it was just a case that the stats they original planned were just too abundant and too complex, so they shortened the list down to make it easier for new players to get into the game or for gear to make more sense. That's just what I think though.
Yea we're not arguing =P
You can easily repurpose the stats for BRD or whatever comes out, since hell even FF11 songs were boosted by Magic Accuracy gear so in this game PIE would perform the same function. It streamlines it because there's really no point to having an entire stat that very few classes actually use.
That could be, but like I said, they got rid of them during alpha. Without any word or anything just puff. I've always wondered why they did that. I don't think they were concerned with new players during that time. Though the complexity could be it(with code and what not) but I don't think that because again they had it in the game. I just hope with the stat fix they might add some of these back. If they don't thats fine, just curious on what happened to them.
More stats effecting more various aspects of a character allows for greater playstyle diversity, I love the idea.
I agree, also that will help making us more UNIQUE, as yoshi-p was trying to explain in that long post from last week.
