Steps of Faith needs an ilevel raise...

When one aoe takes out everyone except me with 6k health and the tanks then there is an issue somewhere with gear. We all survived whilst most everyone else except the geared lancer died.

Coordination is fine, but you need to accept that this game isn't all about "skill" but gear plays an important part of it too. It would be so much easier if people came in with some gear, the zone wouldn't be so much complained about.

The cannons do well, but they can't do everything. You must know that the DPS plays a part in finishing them off especially ones that break off some times.

I agree, simply on paper. However when you actually experience the fight not everything goes well. Which I like about the fight! Its chaotic, I want more fights like this.

But as a DPS they shouldn't be getting hit by anything that will kill them. Like... What are they doing? Standing under his feet? OF COURSE THEY'RE GETTING ONE SHOT!

Also, like I said, I did this at i90 no problem, my health was not an issue. If they're getting hit with things, gear is only a crutch. Forgive me if I don't think they should be progressing if they're not going to get out of the aoes.

If the AoE even happened, there was a co-ordination issue somewhere. Both tanks have a stun move, Dragoons, Monks and Ninjas all have a stun move, the freaking cannons can stun in a pinch! Just designate a stunner, have him stun the turtle when it's about to use the AoE, and you're gold.

I never said you can't do this at i90, however when it first came out I'd imagine you were playing with much better geared people then now.

Also, an ilevel 90 player probably has not even got into Crystal Tower, or barely getting into it. Which is a much easier zone and the zone actually teaches you things.

The zones you do to get poetics/soldiery does as well.

An ilevel 100-110 player has a lot more experience, due to the zones they are probably doing.

I am saying this completely from a healer's prospective.

My only complaint about Steps of Faith is the lack of faith (no pun intended) of the players taking part. One wipe and they flip a table and Leave or start spamming Vote Abandon. Few stick it out for a second or third try, and fewer still actually learn from the wipes. It took me a few tries to get my win, and a few more tries to get a company mate their win. Both wins came not to survivability but, and here's that word again, coordination. People being on the ball with the dragonators and ballista binders, cutting off the drakes before they got to the kegs, and more importantly always having someone on each pair of cannons! AoEs were rarely a problem. The only thing high iL gear did was make Vishap's stomps less fatal (I got stepped on a couple times...).

If it can be done then there is no reason to up the ilvl. Yes, when I first did it on my main, whom is 129, everyone was well geared, but I have three alts that I have had to get through it one by one. :3 It was not always fun running through it with low geared people, buuuut is is doable, people just need to do the mechanics, dodge and play their class correctly.

More experience/gear is nice, but all the same, not necessity.

When they don't even know basic mechanics because they haven't experienced raiding type content before then the ilevel increase would be a HUUUUGE HELP!

Most Ilevel 90 players are fresh from quests and low level dungeons and crafted gear with no materia.

POST LIMIT!

People DOOOO NEED TO LEARN, but at the cost of everyone else, wiping multiple times, and the fact they know they might be holding everyone back just makes them FEEL bad.

I qued up again today, and both tanks IMMEDIATELY left.

Doesn't need an ilvl increase. Its more teamwork that is requires rather than gear. Gear is just a crutch.

Sorry, but I'm going to have to say a certain iLVL lockout isn't going to make any difference. If tanks don't pull trash to the front, if people don't use cannons, if people don't stay out of AOEs, don't avoid getting stepped on and coordinate to attack Vishap while doing all that, then having a few extra points in DPS/HP isn't going to make much difference

Yes, but they need to learn, and I think that doing things at the bare minimum gear level is a good way to learn, because you cannot afford mess ups~ They will be better players later on for it.
