That aside, I think this is getting to far off the topic of how billing itself is handled. The main reason it was brought up was because of how SE decides too split its billing.
Moving back to the mess that is billing right now, I'd remembered how they split up the billing charges needlessly.
They have the 'basic' service, which from what I can tell, earns me the right to let them charge me for the sake of charging me. I have to pay a smaller fee to have any character at all on the server.
These services fees should be combined into a single fee like any other MMO out there. FFXIV can be a unique flower in the MMO market, but here it should be standard like the rest.

since you guys are so smart, did it every register that unlike other mmo which has a flat fee, ffxi and ffxiv are one of the only few mmo that lets you use all classes/job as 1 character. Most with flat time fees are 1 character 1 class. the reason I say this is due to most mmo with 1 character 1 clas, you end uo having to lvl up other character. So they don;t charge you for it. Where With ffxi/ffxiv you don't need to make a new character. most ppl made mules on ffxi which is why retainers are $1
Also correct me if I'm wrong, but there are 2 ways to set up crysta. CC or through a point card you can pick up at any gamestop or other places. This its like the ultimate gamer card or something?
I think you guys are complaining to complain. And the reason for multi accounts is for security. -

That payment processor that escapes my mind now (the one that charges monthly) is incredibly shady from what I've heard, doing things like not letting people cancel MMOs because "they signed a contract" and requiring the player to block the payments with their bank--which the company will even contest sometimes. I haven't had too much issue getting Crysta what with the UltimateGameCards being easy to come by, but the billing system is still way overly complex, and the requiring payment for extra characters thing should be reconsidered.

Seriously, we had a billing system that worked with FFXI for YEARS and continues to work. Why can't we use that? There was no issue with Direct Pay. -

FFXIV and FFXI is build around one Char level it up there no need to play other race if you can't pay 1 or the 3$ for it then play something else there not much you can do about that issue really.Quote:

This is when FFXIV was not going to be a F2P and SE was about to bill everyone and they was getting mad about the click and buy.
