Mysterious Doors

There are suspicious doors all over the game world acting as placeholders for possible future content. The two most intriguing at present (other than the fairly obvious Gates of Judgement) are the Boulder Downs in Coerthas and the Dalamud fragment in The Burning Wall (which most had previously assumed to be the Final Coil entrance) as both have very clear paths running into them that are currently blocked.

I would imagine, as others have said, that this particular door is a placeholder for a possible Gelmorran dungeon of some kind. I'm personally hoping that the expansion will expand the current game world as much as add new regions, much like FFXI did so perhaps we'll see Gelmora open after 3.0.

Castrum Oriens seems to be one of those types of door/gates that are there for future content, I'm guessing we'll storm Oriens in 3.? or 4.0

Where are these doors? I can't seem to find anything at Gelmorra ruins ; ;

There is a half open door all the way at the top I found, past the Ixali camp thing...

Anyway, whatever they do with this, PLEASE MAKE IT OPEN WORLD ;^;

That's the doors. It''s about parallel to the Ixal Camp.

Final Coil is in The Burning Wall. That's been confirmed. Big question is What the heck is the ruin in Courthas?

It's not though, Final Coil is actually entered via Northern Thanalan... the Burning Wall wreckage is currently entirely unused and inaccessible. If you go there you can see the path that enters the Dalamud fragment but there are some conveniently placed crystals on the road stopping us going there...

It is explained in the quest that we are unable to find a way to enter the last two internment hulks so, instead, we try to enter them through the aetherial curent that brought us to Dalamud's Talons at the end of the first two hulks. The actual Hulks are in The Burning Wall and The Singing Shards.

So then that just leaves Salt Strand and Boulder Downs as possible dungeons in 3.X.

The Salt Strand is just where part of Mega Flare hit and crystalized itself and surrounding salt, nothing special about it or connecting it to Coil much.

The remaining oddities I've noticed are the strange ruins in court has, the doors in N Shroud, the underground cavern in s shroud, the Sil'dih ruins in C Thanalan, The Mythril Mines in N Thanalan, and finally The Garlok's layer in E Lanosca (possibly not since Garlok is the E LA Noscan S-Rank hunt)
