    Mysterious Doors

So I was hunting mobs and Fates for my Atma relic in North Shroud the other day when I noticed something odd in The Gelmoran Ruins near Proud Creek.

There were a pair of doors in the ruins that were half opened and seemingly lead underground. Now I use to explore and map different areas frequently and I don't recall ever seeing those particular doors before.

How ever they did give of an extreme Mines of Moria (Lord of the Rings) feeling when I was looking at them.

Being as I was still a fresh, low level, scrub when 1.0 ended do any of you seasoned 1.0 veterans have any idea if it could be linked to any of the North Shroud Gelmora Dungeons from way back when?

Nope, no reference to the area in either 1.0 or 2.0's North Shroud land marks. I almost remember that much of Gelmora with the Exceptions of Tam-Tara and Toto-Rak was lost prior to the calamity and like many of the allagan and sil'dihn ruins, the calamity's destruction freed many lost and fabled ruins from the ground they were sealed in.

Could this be a possible new dungeon for a 3.0 War of the Magi Arc? Is it just a "Cool Spot" that has no relevance? Or could this allude to a much more sinister place locked beneath the Shroud? What I found MOST odd was that the doors were already half opened. Which means something has gone in, or worse, come out.

Well these doors are here since 2.0 and since then we don't have any clue on what lies beyond.

    Pure Spec

I know this is North Shroud - So don't hate on me for that.

However, if anyone has beaten HM of Amadpor Keep, I am expecting either an extreme mode of AK or that it ties into something else.

Don't ask for spoiler, not providing.

well, Toto-rak was a prison, and Tam-Tara was a grave yard. Maybe this is the actual entrance to The City of Gelmora. After all there was a mention of a gelmoran ruin in 1.0's North Shroud being the only above ground Gelmoran Structure. Perhaps these doors are the entrance. Would make since to tie in with Amdapoor in some ways since Amdapoor was partially responsible for the Flood that turned the Elementals against the Enlightened Races. So maybe the elzen in the South Shroud discovered something in the underground area that needs us to go in via the North Entrance.

From what I can see through the Crack it's very clearly leading to some kind of underground passage since It's a cave the door is on any way.

There seems to be a few areas where I'd assumed there would be dungeons (Issom Har being one of them)

Those doors are most likely a place-holder for a Gelmorran instance at some point in the future (If they ever decide to make one, it's useful to have the architecture already there. I speculated on this back in the spring, will have to find the thread). Remember that the current marker used on maps can and usually is re-adjusted once an instance is added. For example, pre-2.5 the Keeper of the Lake map marker is near the fallen Agrius, but in 2.5 it's moved to where the instance "entrance" is instead. My assumption that, when the Gelmorran Ruins becomes its own dungeon (if ever), the marker will be adjusted as such.

This makes sense to me, almost every new dungeon added since 2.0 has had some kind of presence in the over world from before they were instances. The only exception to this I think is Hullbreaker. I imagine they tried to cover all their bases and included many "mystery doors" all over the world for the many different places that could becomes dungeons.

Back in 1.0, the Mun Tuy Cellars were located in a section of Gelmorran ruins in North Shroud. The ruins themselves spanned a good portion of the southern section of the area, and part would have been under where the ruins are now. My guess is that they relocated to the area between the East and West Shroud sometime around the Calamity, as the old cellars had been overrun and abandoned before 1.0's start.
