SE wildly irresponsible with hunt reward implementation yet again

Well, actually it is still fun to see so much drama and hate. Tho as someone who is not on the rush to get ALL the new stuff ASAP just for uhh doing the same content I already can do with easy-to-get gear, the experience in the adrenaline of running to a hunt to see if I can land a hit, and doing it a couple of times till I get bored and do something else is a nice little fun to get out of routine.

Dunno, maybe I would be mad too of hunts if I was doing them at peak hours and NEEDED THEM to get some gear having some couple of stats more for doing hard content like coil, but, Im not one of those special people.

While it wouldn't solve the problem per se, a rank A lasting 20~ seconds more would make a big difference, especially for those who are on servers with people that pulls on sight.

That leaves the problem of what happens after the hunt fever dies down and the monsters are left with a big HP pool making them very hard/lenghty to kill for a small group, I don't know if I remember right but doesn't FATEs have a scaling system on them? The more people there is (was on the last one?) the more HP the mobs have? I might be wrong on this though, but if that's right they could do the same with hunts.

The hunt craze will probably level off a bit in a week or two, like the Eternal Bond reservations. Catching the hunt targets will still be tough, but much more reasonable - even prior to the 2.5 adjustments, S ranks on Excalibur were going down within 45 seconds of a pull.

If I were to suggest a temporary fix though:

1. Hunt targets will be invulnerable for the first 3 minutes after they appear on the open world map. Targets under invulnerable status during this period are surrounded by a circular aetherial barrier effect, similar to the round barrier surrounding players prior to the start of a guildleve.

2. Certain elite marks are able to use effects (cooldown buffs) which make them harder to kill. Your target may use these effects based on how fast its HP has depleted, the number of opponents - or even after a set time.

- For example, when Garlok reaches 50% HP and 20% HP, damage dealt by Garlok will be increased by 20% each time and stacking to 20% extra damage, but this does not occur if at least 2 minutes have elapsed when the HP checkpoint is reached.
- Some will apply a 20% damage reduction for 45 seconds each time they are hit by a DoT, with a 90 second cooldown.
- Other marks can heal themselves: each time 20% of HP is lost, the target will heal itself up to 10% of total HP depending on how fast the HP was lost, up to five times (50% total HP).
- Another mark might have a "DPS check" mechanic that heals 50% of a target's HP every 5 minutes, making it much harder or impossible to kill the hunt target if you can't finish it off in time.

Well Cfai, in a sense, GW system is really no different than the ts group server we use before in terms of hunt. I know obviously there are huge difference in term of technology used but is it really truly different from having someone who is just listening in to TS server and tell friends in fs if a or s pop? Well, I do know the hunt is getting stupid hard last night, a sense of order been lost like in the PBC days back then. But as always, the later in the night it is, a sense of order was restored and people start waiting for people again.

I do agree that I believe final coil is a bit overtune and dps check is rough. Before anyone say that final coil can be clear with 115 gear; It is possible but not everyone is top end high end player that can do world first. To the less gifted player, better gears are needed for clearing coil. I am in turn 12 myself for over a month and the dps for the bennu is rough. To beat the wall of the high dps check people need and desire better gear. Thus the mass hunting going on atm.

I hope Ophies info isnt true haha, its a sad time when the leader of this game gets trolled by the very people he is working hard for.

Except S-E could also put Carbontwine or other rewards equivalent to left-side i130 into:

-World of Darkness
-The "Primal Focus" weekly-style CT gauntlet quest
-any recent Primal encounter, which while difficult, are not as difficult as FCOB

By not spreading out the types of content players are 'motivated' to do, and funneling everything into hunts, you get irresponsible overpopulation. And no, Guildworks does not 'fix' the problem that leaves console players and people without supercomputers that can render the hunt mobs.

I used to hunt on Excalibur TS in 2.3. It's a fun community activity, especially to research and spawn S-ranks, but as battle content design, the state of hunts back then was absolute garbage that should never have been re-introduced.
