Is the Ninja nerf really needed?

If you think Monk is always the highest DPS in any situation you're very much mistaken. Monk is easily the highest potential single-target DPS, there's no dispute. However, that kind of performance is highly situational and fight mechanics in the majority of the game don't really match Monk's ideal environment.

Monk outdps ninja.
However monk should also get a nerf

MNK is already nerfed IMO due to the various mechanics of most of the fights in this game. I don't think MNK should be judged based only on what it can do under ideal circumstances when those circumstances rarely exist anyway.

So by that logic Dragoon is fine because T13 can be beaten with 3 Dragoons and a Bard, right?

I would say it's asian favoritism but ninja is and asian job. They should just buff Dragoons for now and then go from there.

Not to break it for you but you're doing it wrong when you're behind Ninjas in single target DPS as Monk.
Sure when we're talking about trash mobs Ninja is stronger indeed but in real fights where it actually matters aka Coils monks should always beat ninjas.
There is a reason why the first final coil clears went double monk.
Monk is outright OP when it comes to ST, now we had a class that is almost able to match it and it gets nerfed instead of just bringing dragoon to the same lvl and have 3 competitive melees.
Oh and Dragon Kick is the best utility you can get in the final coils.
