FFXIV tends to follow seasons in Japan. We just ended our "rainy season" here in the Tokyo area, so it's now officially summer... and this basically lasts through August, so we should be having a summer event in the coming weeks.

I agree, it`s now summer in Tokyo so we will get the summer event soon.

Last week Grekumah said they will post event details soon. Now whats is soon for them?

So this year's event will give swimming suits? I was hoping i could get my yukata or a kimono

After looking it also shows new swimsuits so might get both.

Actually, last year there wasn't a Moonfire, it was Firefall. The two events seem to alternate years, with Firefall occuring in the summer proper and Moonfire in the last weeks of summer. They probably alternate them to keep people from burning out on the events. Likely a concern after the first or second Summer Breeze of XI that was extended due to people having missed the beginning of it because of a disaster somewhere. It lasted for months... near the end people just wanted it to finish already.

2011 - end of july
2012 - beginning of august

It should be this year at the beginning of august

Yes an event is long overdue. Miss the piles of events that were coming out left and right months ago.
