What like in FF9 because I had a similar idea, like on a single person you could heal 500ish hp but on a group it goes down to 250 or less

No nukes are useless because they are woefully under powered in the traditional FF sense. Look at the 'ancient magics' like Flare. . .LOL. I'm sorry that some Conjurers feel like SE personally killed grandma, but we needed a better more defined healer class. Just like we need a better more defined nuking class (with actual effective nukes). Some players take it way to personally especially considering that 1) THM and CON were the most ambiguously defined classes in the game 2) HURRR 1.19 and 1.20 will continue to introduce more adjustments which will probably further define CON and THM.
Hell, at least you're wanted for parties.
If your class doesn't start with the letters, G, A, or C, you're not getting a party.
Well that too lol. I dont know how they are going to fix Conj and thaum unless they move spells from one to the other. Giving conj ALL the aoe heals, ALL the highest revives, ALL the elemental nukes (even tho theyre weaksause), ALL the ailment cures, and ALL the main defensive buffs.... they need to triple conj's MP pool!
The only thing i see happening is Thaum cross classing all but the conj-specifics so conj can heal and thaum can nuke. However as the OP mentioned, some Conj dont want to be bottlenecked as a healer. It is pretty unfair to them for them to do the spells like this.
Something many were afraid would happen. It happened alot early on in FFXI. Dark Knights especially had no place in parties...
Because now, if you've been to the R50 Dungeon, people want MOAR conjs. MOAR AND MOAR. if you don't have at least 3 conj you have a bad party! Now you can only have 8 players in, 3 or more spots are taken by conj because of theyre do-too-much setup. Now who do we have to leave out? FFXI all over again, except with 2 extra party slots.
Well I'm sure if they do something to balance out the elemental spells both THM and CONs would bitch anyways as well. No matter what SE does someone will still 'insist' on posting like SE personally intended harm. Also people forget that there are missing classes from the game and they will be released eventually. Some being mage classes. It would be much easier to bring balance to DoM with a hybrid healer, hybrid nuker and hybrid debuffer classes.
Mages are still capable of doing pretty good damage, and the debuffs are pretty useful as well on tough fights. Are people telling you you have to only heal during Darkhold or are they just looking for healers (which you don't want to do). There is no reason that a CON/THM can't be in a DPS role during Darkhold, however with that in mind groups need healers and that role is in much more demand probably.
Two entirely different situations the way I see it. Form your own group and load it with 2 or even 3 other mages to heal, then you can DPS. However I'd be wary of grouping with any mage who absolutely refused to heal 100% of the time no matter what, just like in XI. I mean even BLM's were called on to heal in emergencies.
I'd also be wary to group with a melee DPS who refused to equip self cure/sacrifice or second wind to help with their own health.
Maybe it might have something to do with the fact that your Conj is the ONLY job that now has AOE cures... Idk if you had that I might want you to heal as well. Also might have something to do with the fact that the Ogre in the R50 Dungeon is also extremely resistant to any type of Nuke or DOT. So yeah MP is more efficient when you heal. There are certain areas of the dungeon where you have to nuke rather then heal, if your parties are ignoring them then well frankly get new parties.
Sleep Cure and Nuke is what I do on my Conj, your party just has to know wtf is up.
