She never said she was. What she said was that she noticed the mobs were dying much slower than usual, and started paying attention to what the dps were actually doing.

Elitism is demanding that someone only use the best possible rotation; most people are okay with one that work well enough. Whatever this guy was doing, it clearly wasn't working.

A nice thought, but the MMO reality is that helping will always be hit or miss. In fact, this is the only MMO I've played in recent memory where many people will still bother trying to teach. Everyone here will become as jaded as the rest of us soon enough.

I'm not sure why SE doesn't make their low man dungeons ridiculously carry-able like other games. It would probably solve a lot of things. Leave requiring effort to current coil and let the people who "play how they want" have 4 man content and the echo buff.

InB4 "easy low man dungeons means people won't learn their class." False. People who don't want to learn won't do it regardless of dungeon difficulty (as we've seen). Those who were going to take initiative and learn their class will also still do so regardless of dungeon difficulty.

Also, once someone makes MPK attempts, you might as well vote kick.

That was the exact response from the DRG in my SV who was only using one skill the entire run, I play how I want.

I don't know about you, but I don't need a program to tell when a BLM is using a sub-average rotation (let alone sub-optimal rotation, like I like to do on BLM). I had a BLM in Aurum Vale who only casted Fire I (even when building to Astral Fire III stacks), never used her Firestarter procs, never used Thunder. Her AoE rotation consisted of one Fire II and a Blizzard III followed by another Fire II. Like the OP, I noticed that mobs were dying a lot slower than one would expect with a 2x BLM DPS group, and used the enmity table to determine just how badly the other BLM was out pacing the one BLM using this sub-average rotation. Even if the sub-average BLM was using Quelling Strikes on CD every time, she shouldn't be THAT far behind the other BLM.

If this is correct though, I have no Idea.... just it seems to be frowned uppon to spam Fire 3 and not doing anything else :D

You can play any way you want in the game BUT when it comes to playing with a team you have to adjust your play style so everyone can work together in clearing that content the best way possible, if they don't want to work with others they should play something else that's not an MMO.

I think the problem is that there is ONLY one way to play, and ONLY one build of success. Couple this with this lack of consequence from DF and the lack of social community, and you have people chafing under the lack of choice.

Yes, you are free to play in any way you want in a party even when friendly advice is given and no one is forcing you to do otherwise but when you are making things difficult for others in your team why not change things a little bit? I mean, you can still play the way you want while trying to be helpful to your team and not making something "easy" more difficult than it is.

I also agree that the main problem is that there's not much to choose from in terms of builds for any class.

If we scale up the world mobs, this problem goes away because those that play that badly get their face smashed in and can't even get the quests to do the dungeons.

I've been in plenty of scenarios like this. Like the time I was running WP with another Bard. He refused to sing any song the entire dungeon. I realize not every situation calls for it but still. When your tank is a warrior and pulling huge mobs it makes sense to sing the TP song from time to time. We tried to tell him but he also gave the same excuse. "I don't let people tell me how to play" Smh
