Tanks That Hate Fluid Aura

It actually is harassment if a tank told/asked you to stop and you continued doing it. And 2 other people obviously felt the same way, regardless if they voiced their opinions about it or not. And I guess if Tam-Tara trash is so easy then tanks should just stop caring if the healer steals hate?

I love when healers DPS, as long as they can keep up heals while doing so. It speeds up the run. But knocking mobs back for no reason is just rude. Especially if everyone is level synced in a dungeon other than the tank. It's extremely hard to keep hate from level synced toons, even in full HQ level-appropriate gear.

If someone politely asks you to stop doing something that bothers them and you don't stop, what does that make you?

I often used Fluid Aura on the Slime Boss in Wanderer's Palace when it targets someone. Knocks the boss into a corner and roots it, causing it to burn most of the time it spends chasing someone. Other then that, it's super situational for myself but generally use it only as a last resort.

I think, that is the reason for the ability. If a mob makes a b-line for the ranged members of the party. (Healer/Mage/Bard) The mob could be pushed back to the tank. Any other use can just be annoying.

So, from what you have written, tanks who don't let you play how you like are bad tanks.

And they should not tell you how to play your job, but they should play their jobs how you want them to?

I am going to assume that you were probably asked not to fluid aura once, and then did it again, possibly multiple times before the kick. And no, I dont think anything should come from your report.

At least half of the people on that run disagreed with what you were doing, asked you to stop, and you did not, so they removed you.

It could be viewed as harassment and trolling if the party asked you not to do something and then you continued to do so.

Fluid Aura should only ever be used while soloing, or if you're being attacked by a stray mob in a pack to push it towards a tank. Running in to use it when the tank is trying to maintain control on a group of mobs in a dungeon is (especially if you've been asked by the tank not to do so), quite frankly, extremely rude and disrespectful of the group as a whole.

As far as I'm concerned it's considered griefing if you're intentionally doing something that you've been asked not to do and the group had every right to vote kick you out of the group. I would do the exact same thing if it was happening in one of my groups, or if an acn/smn had Carbuncle/Garuda on Obey and was using the knockback on cooldown.

It was a rhetorical question. I don't care why tanks get mad. And remember, tank is my main and I can assure you that good tanks needn't worry about WHMs who use Fluid Aura. ESPECIALLY in Tam Tara. And you can put me down by saying my stubbornness is "like a child" but I don't really care. I think it's funny in fact. Cause you know, tanks telling WHM not to use Fluid Aura because it MIGHT give the appearance of losing control and then crying about it isn't at all childish LOL

I don't really see why anyone would need to use the ability other than as others have said to push the mob back to the tank. Even if that were the reason for using it, it's really not that hard for the tank to just shield lob/provoke it back rather than knocking it 50 feet backwards. Other than that reason it's more of a solo ability to save you from dying when there is no tank around to save you.

As a tank, I just ignore any mob hit with fluid aura. Not only does the tank now have to fight the additional threat generated by the fluids damage, but the mob is no longer in range.

I'll toss a quick provoke if it's available but chasing it down just isn't worth losing threat on the DD's target.

There's no point in doing it unless the mob is on you. Which was the only time I ever used it. If something breaks away and charges me, I'd FA and then sleep it. Otherwise, if you're running in just to knock back one of the the mobs the tank is trying to control, then they should be upset with you.

Also, it's annoying for melee dps to have to chase down mobs as well. Particularly for monk/pugilist, it's easy to lose the greased lightning buff if you spend half of its timer chasing mobs that someone else knocked away.
