caps on all side quests and missions

Instead of lowering you rank temporally, why not have the quests scale to your Rank?

Well if anything means something. We need to remember that classes are (more or less) used for soloing, from the words of the dev team. And that jobs (our party oriented versions), which we found out today, have no level. So there wouldn't be a need for level cap, since there are no levels for jobs. Maybe somehow limit classes from OPing the events tho would be a good idea ha.

if u seriously find 1shooting threw your content fun i can't even begin to understand you. i was thinking gear would change with u like in ffxi at some point cause yes i hated having to gear up low lv class to do caps. but anyone who complained near ffxi's end probably was to lazy to get a party going or ended up in sub par ones and cried. that is no reason to destroy content though, ffxi had great missions, and caps would of added a ton more hours of real game play instead of things you just run threw and never look back at. God knows they will never create side games that are fun enough to keep anyone doing them as u can see from ffxi. really caps on things would be all they need to create tons of hours of fun content.

the concept of someone just lowering there level to do it is absurd like i started op stating, no one in there right minds would just drop to rank 10 to do a mission with a group. a group wouldn't want to do it. people don't do things if the game doesn't make them.

creating a way for people after the first year or two of that expansion to find players to do these missions with is more in the line of what they should do rather then just make it so easy from the get go for all. like in end of ffxi some missions were repeatable and u got i beleive extra stats u can add to them gear. and with materia comming this can be a great idea to add to all missions, so repeating them can give u something while helping others do them for first time.

If the person wouldn't do this by itheir own will, why would forcing them to do so make things better? This is exactly the point regarding lv cap...some people just don't want to play in a gimp version of his class because the game is forcing it...some people like it...some people like losing EXP when you die too...they think its exciting lose EXP ang get lv down because you died right after lvling up...but that's the minority...most players just want to have fun...they don't like cap, they don't like losing EXP, they don't like being forced to play in a different way they want.

If you want something to make stuff more challenging, ask sidequests to have difficulty option just like levequests...that's a very good point Skeloton said...insted of pulling players down, leave the option of adjusting the quest to player's rank...he can play it at default way tor just set it harder. ^^

but in all truthfullness the reason why people complain bout it is not cause they are dead set in solo'ing it, or 1shoting mobs. it's mostly cause they can't find players to do it with, that would create the same effect on the reverse side.

though being able to pick the difficulty would be cool too, it's the same concept long as theres a max level difficulty. besides it's not really forcing players to do it, it's just part of the game, u don't really question it till it becomes a problem. if they finally changed it in ffxi, it was on the last year or 2 of it's life where it was near impossible to get others to join or help. when situations become that bad, then is the time to change it, not to straight out ruin it from the get go to prevent what will not be an issue till many years into the future.

also i'm not saying they need to make every mission and side quest like this, even as much as ffxi had is a good start and they didn't have alot at all. but i really can't see your view, i can't understand how u consider it fun to do quests alone and 1shot them in matter of seconds. i can't comprehend it at all, i'd love your input on how u enjoy this over the latter.

Stupid argumentation. What you advocate is a meaningless grind to level cap, and then rushing through low-level dungeons with no effort. They did not remove the level cap from CoP because it was a bad idea per se, but in order to let people catch up easily on older content.

If you gave every LV 1 player the option to receive a fully upgraded relic weapon, how many would refuse? So why don't they simply hand out relic weapons? Hint: People will always take the easier road when offered, but that doesn't mean they don't like challenge.

The problem with having content scale up is that if a rank 50 player wants to help a rank 20 player the quest is no longer rank 20 its now rank 50, locking out the rank 20 from being able to get in on the fight and detering high lv players from helping low lv players. I imagine it would be some work but beyound just sticking one arbitrary cap they could allow you to adjust the cap increasing the lv and difficulty of the boss your facing so it would be optional. All in all im all for caps.

Well, i see prople are starting to become aggressive with opposite opinions and this might be derailing soon...so that's it. You guys have my opinion, i'm pretty sure it won't ever happen because lv cap was almost entirely abollished from FFXI so make no sense adding it here so you guys can keep saying the positive points of it. Maybe if you show enough positive points things change.

level cap was the only reason COP was so successeful in ffxi. Caps keep people playing lower lvl content and keep it challenging. All other mmos atm not useing caps have empty zones from 1tocap and higher lvl just rush the lower lvls through the content for gear... that is what happens ALWAYS. caps are a good way of keeping diffculty up.

I really hope they give us caps on the new dungeons too.

EDIT: in case you don't know what i mean by caps. It doesnt mean higher lvls CANT do it. It means their gear and their lvl gets degraded to the cap to prevent people from goin through everything easy-mode. AFter the challenges, battles, instances are done, the cap is gone again. a simple and yet very effective system.

I rather help a low lvl friend and have fun and a challenge then just AOE my way through a dungeon and the friend sees nothing but a few effects and gets the gear... accomplishment? - none- great thing.
A lot of mmos don't use this and new players often never see some great dungeons on the way to cap, miss a lot of lore, fun and areas/content, because they get rushed through everything.

After ffxi got rid of the caps, the zones and challenges there became pointless. I bet they were listening to all the cry-for-easy-mode whiners... now theres is nothing challenging to do and this game suffers the disease of every other mmo, which it was almost immune to for a long time.
