Do you not see that his main is DRG? Assuming, that he was on his DRG, most people won't take DRGs for WP speed runs.
And remember, this is a DF party, not a premade party, you have to let the other people know that you are going to speed run. And honestly the tank should have looked at his party setup before he even attempted this.

WP Speed Run Information for the OP
Most speed run, groups consists of PLD, BLM, BRD and WHM.

WAR can replace PLD if they are geared enough but most people still prefer PLD for the mitigation and better hate management (flash spam is better cause overpower wake sleeping mobs).
Most party want BLM for their Flares and AOE sleep, a skilled SMN may be able to use Tri-disaster + Shadow Flare for slow, but there aren't many people that can do that.
They want BRD for the Rain of Death, MP Songs and Foe Requiem, DRG and MNK just dont provide as much utility or AOE as BRD do.
WHM because Holy Spam is amazing with the stuns, they can pretty much 1 or 2 shots the adds for the 2nd and 3rd boss.
A skilled and geared group can normally get it done around 12 to 13 min, world record I believe is around 8min

I healed about 8 df runs last night and got 8 tanks trying to pull 3 groups at a time and 6 tanks who tried the boss sealing trick, this is just how the dungeon has come to be run.. take an hour to learn it and then pass the knowledge on to new people

Most of the time you hear 'if you want to speedrun form a party' but WP is now the reverse, if you dont want to speedrun form a party..

As healer(sch), I really hate speedrun. It's useless, stressful for healer/tank and cause of so many stupid comments (by tank mainly).
Why the hell should we speedrun WP ? A "quick" run, just with people who knows the best path, it's something like 30, maybe 35min, max. There is no point to win 15min and make it harder than it should.

Most of the time, if tank begin to SR without saying that he wants to do it that way, I just don't heal him and explain why. 2 cases :
- not as idiot as he first seems to be, rez and make a quick run
- insult + leave

So, make it in 30/35min max or lost a few gils (stuff repair) and 15min of penalty, what's your choice ?

These are people trying to do speed runs which usually take 10-15 minutes. The issue I have with this is the lack of explanation and the fact that they are trying to force other players to play their style of game, when going on a random run. If it is community expectation, out of a duty finder group, then the game is dead. New, ungeared people will hit this and quit, population drops, game over. Duty finder is expected to be the lowest common denominator. If you notice people are more geared than expected and use that (yep amazing tool chat!) to ask if the DF group wants to speed run, fine. Anyone expecting though without checking gear and asking from a DF group is rock dumb. A lot of times I'm running WP in crafted militia gear (sufficient for a non-speed run) in order to bond it to get materia. There are many reasons to grind, and not all are tomes. I'd wear something else for a speed run.

Speed runs are fine, and I totally understand why people do them, but your question was community expectations of a Duty Finder made group.

What you should do is tell the tank that you are undergeared or unfamiliar with seed runs.

If they rage and leave, oh well. But many will take it slower because they know theyll just die.

But yeah, I DF as a heal, I dont do it in my Vanyas, just to show Im taking it slower. If everyone else has relics and we have the right jobs, Ill switch to my good gear and we can burn through the dungeon.

When I queue up alone as a tank, I always examine the rest of the group. If they have relic and a couple of lv90 gear then I just assume they can handle speed run and I pull accordingly to that. Now if I see that they have like wp/ifrit weapon and AF/wp gear, I do it the slow way because I have common sense.

Sometimes if the healer is the only one with bad gear I ask if speed run is ok for him. Usually a bad geared healer can keep me up if the dps is good enough.

When I DF, I don't expect a speed run out of anyone nor do I inspect gear. If someone comes into a dungeon either they know the layout and how to get around the place, or they don't and I'll do my best to help them understand. For the latter, I will take the run -very- slowly and explain things to the new comer and damn the temper/patience of anyone who wants to flip out because the run is "taking too long." I'd rather help someone understand the place or run at a normal pace rather than wipe 3-4 times trying to speed run and exploit certain mechanics. I generally dislike speed runs personally. It takes the fun out of it and makes everything stressful. If you want to speed run and I happen to be tanking, good luck with that expectation because it's not going to happen.

I'd rather take a year constructing a tall building with a strong foundation as opposed to doing a rush job and watching it fall over from a breeze.

As a tank i kinda gave up on DF WP, I'll just DF AK since hardly anyone is expecting sac pulls. If I do a premade/shout group I'm all for SR WP with the right set up. Then again I'm really only doing runs for myth on mondays with a couple lazy DF AK's to finish up if needed or I'm bored, Back on topic..

It seems the DF community expects SR WP, I'm always clear to ask more so the healer what they want and how many groups of mobs there comfortable with. As I could care less what the DPS want in DF. But with people expecting it, is what really turns me off of DF WP.

As a example my last attempt to DF WP, was me(random)Pld and 3(members of some FC)Whm, Mnk, Drg. Seeing Drg+Mnk I'm like ok I'm better off just pulling 1pack at a time and marking to let them single target them down. Well after the 2tonberrys at the start the healer says "please pull lots of mobs we are good, we are in a FC and do this alot" -I think to myself hmm, 2single target DPS and AoE pulling- so I'm just like "ok". I pull 3packs of mobs the next pull, the Drg aoe's assuming depending on TP and single target while trying to recover it while the mnk dose single target.

Around each pull took about 5-10mins to clear the mobs(with the whm asking to wait to recover MP, after some pulls). The whole time I'm thinking to myself -this is horrible-. After the 1st boss they ask me what server I'm on and I should join there FC... All in all about 35min's to clear it with me dieing 3times it was not the 1st but another terrible experience with DF WP "let's SR".

Id rather have some AF/GC geared DPS and healer and do a 1hr AK, where I need to explain everything and wipe a couple times to boss's then.. Do DF WP and face tank large groups of mobs for extended periods of time and/or die and have to start over.
