Mythology spending is a SURE bet. You will always be able to farm your 300 per week and guarantee yourself a BiS piece. Minuscule... you understand what BiS means, right? Waiting for a rng drop *COULD* span months. Time/Efficiency makes no sense in the argument when you are bringing a random element into the equation. This person is literally being more "efficient" than you by grabbing the best upgrade in a more definite way than farming the content.

To answer your question about Gloves vs. Weapon, wouldn't weapon fit your own personal theory? Since Turn 5 is weapon drops and you won't be close to downing that where as Allagan gloves (BiS) drop from Turn 4? Valor Helm should also be in your equation.


Chest and Legs are not only BiS for PLD, but look cool and mesh well with Hoplite Helm and Feet to hit your necessary caps for BC.

Tank DL body is a helm/body combo. It's fugly as hell, Reminds me of Alexander though.
And Valor Body + Hoplite circle is slightly better that the DL body for tanking.

My only decision now is to either +1 my shield or get the Valor crown.

Let me guess, you bought the Chest first and you're trying to justify it to yourself? When you have enough Accuracy all you should aim for is getting as high item level as possible as the rest of the stats yield no significant increase to survivability.

I wouldn't go that far since it is considered to be BiS at the moment. I know a lot of people including myself that aren't even running Coil until Crystal Tower comes out so I don't feel like I wasted anything. :P

Hmm... Allagan isn't really all that better. You get more parry with AF2 and Determination which affects how much you are healed for.
