Since order seems to be the deciding factor, what order did you feed your chocobo to get apple green?

Chocobo Dye Experimentation Thread
I created a new thread for controlled experiments to find out exactly how the fruits work. I'd to make this a very organized set of experiments, instead of just people throwing fruit at the birds. If you're interested, I'd love to have some help.
First off, wanted to say this thread has been both a blessing and a curse to my curiosity!! Congrats to everyone who got their colors, and good luck to everyone else who's shooting for different ones!
I just wanted to post that I'm running a few tests at the moment; since everyone seems to have posted everything in batches of 20-30+ fruits/berries in a single 6 hour period. This is not how my experience has been, but, I figure I'll try it the other way and see where it goes.
Originally I was gunning after Soot Black, before this thread really took off.
1st 6hr Period // Stable: Fair
Fed 1xDoman Plum, did not receive any message of "... growing new feathers!"
Waited.
2nd 6hr Period // Stable: Good
Fed 3xValfruit, received message of "... growing new feathers!"
Chocobo ended up being Salmon Pink!
3rd 6hr Period // Stable : Good
Fed 1xPineapple (received message), 1xValfruit (received message), and 9xDoman Plum (received message).
Chocobo ended up being Bone White!
I'm going to toss some of the lightening fruits at him again, see if I can get soot black, as that is my goal. I don't have screenshots, as I wasn't thinking of them at the time. (Far more consumed on trying to get the actual color than I was of recording data. I am however recording data like crazy.)
Few of my FC mates used formulas on this thread to achieve their colors, so I'm assuming that they're just as lucky or the formulas work when starting from a non-dyed bird. (I don't think stable cleanliness has anything to do with this, but I recorded it for the sake of information.)
Hello all,
I have a Ceruleum Blue choco. It's almost black. I've had a few requests ask how I got the elusive black choco, lol. I haven't the foggiest idea of how to screenshot it as I am on PS4, but if anyone on Hyperion wants to, just hit me up in-game. I used 23 berries, 11 pears, 9 apples, all in one session. I got the changing feathers message almost constantly and I rotated what I used. I generally used 2-3 berries for every pear or apple used.
Read the fruit(s) description again.
Like a lot of people, you're mistaking "deepen" for "darken", which are absolutly not the same thing.
In this context, "deepen" means "reinforce", while "lighten" means "weaken".
So, feeding your chocobo with more and more pears should make it more and more green.
I just feed my choco, if the values on my theory are partially right i should get Snow white.
Whoevever came up with this cap of 255 and 0 is also not thinking correctly... sorry. This isn't photoshop.. there are not 255 levels of each color in this game... that would produce 256x256x256x256x256x256 colors... we don't have that many colors... give up this theory. Stick to the simple facts... when you get the message that your have grown new feathers your chocobo will change colors. Now, lets document 1 O'Ghomoro berry (that created this message), then 2, then 3, then 4, etc until we hit the cap (which again isn't 255). Its actually a simple process but people got the wrong method in their heads so only a few are actually documenting what is relevant.

I got it from a total of 13 pears, and 20 berries. I did 3 pears in the first round, no change. Second round I did 20 berries, followed by 10 pears.
At a loss... Since the person going grape purple did around 65 darken red, 20 darken blue, and 30 lighten green. While I did 20 darken blue, 17 darken red, and 21 lighten green, and got Regal purple, when I was aiming for Grape Purple. So, I went with 10x more darken red, and five more lighten green on my Regal purple. Ended up this morning with Dalamud Red.
What should I add now if I wanted Grape purple? I'm thinking some darken green, and darken blue?
First feeding was 25 apples (deepen red) and got Sunset Orange.
Second feeding was 3 pineapples (lighten green) and its now Pumpking Orange.
I prefer the Sunset Orange so im going to deepen the green even more then it was to see if I get a darker shade then the Sunset Orange.
I'm starting to think it depends on what fruit you start with and then it adjusts along that scale... Once I have my fruit I'm going to try feeding apples (darken red) first and see if that doesn't get me where I need to go.
Edit: To clarify saying darken red fruit - get message - okay we're on the red scale, (feathers message) darken the red, (feathers message) darken the red, (feathers message) darken the red - lighten green fruit - okay lets take some green from that red - (feathers message) lighten the green, (feathers message) lighten the green, (feathers message) lighten the green - darken blue fruit - okay lets add some blue to that red - (feathers message) darken the blue, (feathers message) darken the blue, (feathers message) darken the blue - result
I hope that makes sense.
Forgive my ignorance, this is all so confusing. Which path should i take if i want white from Celeste Green? Pineapples?
I want to be able to save the colors I've tested/ended up with so I can pick them if I want later on and not have to grow or buy the food again and spend the ti
Noted. Removed. lol.
Ugh, I give up for now. My bird wont change from honey yellow no matter what I feed him. Only thing I haven't tried is feeding him the one that changes him back to his original color. Just planted that now.
I fed 20 Mamook Pears and 11 O'Ghomoro Berries and ended up with Cactuar Green.

UPDATE: Here is the story so far. I want black, so I tried the Slate Gray combination on the spreadsheet, which gave me Plum Purple. So, I fed my chocobo 1 Xelphatol Apple, 1 O'Ghomoro Berry, and 4 Mamook Pear and now I have Mole Brown. I guess that is closer to black? So, this morning I fed my chocobo 3 Mamook Pears, 2 Xelphatol Apples, and 2 O'Ghomoro Berries. I got the color change msg on the second apple and the second berry, no message on the pears. We will see... With my luck, the message appearing on red and blue probably means it will go back to purple or something.
Well, 2 new feathers are growing pineapples from Sylph green made Cream Yellow. :/
What should I do for green? I'd love Apple/Turquoise or Hunter. Suggestions?
First fed (1x plum), nothing happened.
Second fed (5x plums) i got Honey Yellow
Third fed (10x doman plums, 10x Pineapples, 10x val fruit) i got Bone Yellow
Fourth fed (10x Doman plums, 10x pineapples, 10x val fruit): Waiting...
Not super happy thus far. I think my first Light Blues steered me off course towards my desired Snow White. Hoping that once one of them "caps out" if that's possible, adding more will have me hit white. That's considdering a "255, 255, 255" system, and not one where it simply shifts the more you give it of one color.
Feeding 1 berry @ Lilac Purple gave me Lavender Purple. I assume this a translation error then? There is no dye called Lavender Purple. It's called Lavender Blue as a dye.
EDIT: Fed the chocobo 1 berry and got the growing new plumage message.

Seeing if this works...I'm getting flooded with questions how I got it black.
It isn't. It's Ceruleum Blue.
After much too convoluted of a process, here is the pic. Not sure if this is even going to work.

Nice. Hopefully get more feedback in this thread http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...entation/page2
