I queued for A9N/A10N as monk in hopes of winning a bolt for an alt class. I get into A9 almost immediately, greetings and we are ready to go.

Adds and first mini boss go down without problems.
Bard accidentally pulls the big boss with Foe (hey, it happens) but tank is fast to establish order so we start.
I stepped into the fire once (shame on me!), popped all of my self healing CDs and a potion to stay alive because I didn't receive any heal from either of the astros. But I survived from my stupid mistake.
We wipe before the Faust add appears for reasons unknown to me as I was the only one alive with the OT.

Drg starts to get vocal in party chat but gets ignored and tank pulls again.
Before the Faust appears, MT goes down.
So I am MT now, I am ready! I turn the boss away from the group, pop fists of earth and... And I am dead before I can use any other CDs.
OT grabs the boss and I see a healer raising the dead MT.
Faust spawns and both healers are low on MP, I don't really expect to see a raise coming even if the drg starts nagging them in chat about it.
So I wait.
And wait.
Bard starts singing Mage's ballad.
I see their MP slowly going back up.
Drg keeps nagging them.
I see that they have full MP now, so I'll surely get a raise! Nope, I stay on the floor until the end of the fight.

During my wait, I did entertain the idea of just hitting return, but then it would have been really childish.
I did notice that neither of healers pulled out cards or Aspected Benefic (either sect), I saw an Aspected Helios once from the diurnal ast and that's it.

I roll high on the bolt and win it, while drama starts in party chat between drg calling healers incompetent and someone mentioning drg low dps.
Well, with all the time I spent on the floor it surely must have been higher than mine!

I got my mentor crown Saturday morning via the DoL/DoH requirements because I love the crafting system in this game. That being said, I do take it upon myself to learn the ins and outs of dungeon mechanics and at least how classes and jobs work so I'm not "one of those mentors" so often discussed in this thread.

So, what do my friends do to celebrate? Why, drag me into a roulette, of course! This lala marauder... let's just ssay that he was wearing a terriblemish-mash of legit tank gear, DoW gear, and... caster boots. We're in Halatali and he states this is his first time tanking. I look and he's got summoner to 60, at least, so by all rights, he should know how to gear his character. Anyways, first boss drops the tank boots, and we all pass so he gets them. I encourage him to put them on, but he doesn't immediately. He dies during one of the trash pulls due to squishy factor, and as he is running back, he puts the new boots on. Things are instantly a bit better now that his tanking gear outnumbers his non-tank gear. A brief lesson in threat generation and we're golden.

It was nice to have a positive experience for my first run as a mentor.

Needless to say, the rest of the party got to carry them through, while I admonished them for not bothering to upgrade their most vital piece. They protested that they hadn't received a drop, I explained that this ain't Diablo and that item level matters far more than rarity and even a cheap NQ level appropriate upgrade would be better. All in all, sadly a typical DF experience.

The story gets interesting about an hour later however. I run into them again. They HAVE upgraded their weapon to an ilvl 133 MB weapon, and now actually take up a decent chunk of the enmity bar, so they at least knew how to play their class. Wound up giving them the commendation on that second run for actually taking my advice!

Hey I think I was there! Was lvling BLM! Or maybe I'm mistaken!

Welp. So I unlocked MCH finally... because I am running out of things to level. XD Anyways, queued into Leveling Roulette with an FC mate, and we landed in Haukke Manor with a synced WHM, and a level 31 GLA. First time in the dungeon. He asked to us to help him out, since it was his first time, and I was like "Sure! ^^ No problem!" After all, I had my mentor crown on. :p


Well, the healer wasn't having any of this, and started pulling mobs ahead of the tank, who was trying to get them off of the healer. We do the first room, and the first wandering Maidservant, and the healer just goes AFK. Not a single word. Well, we had to wait until we could Vote Dismiss them, but continued to trudge along with a few deaths (since, no heals). I started telling the tank about how he could unlock PLD, and become a stronger version of a GLA. He was extremely receptive to the advice! I was glad, since so many people get testy when you start offering them advice. Anyways, we get to the first boss, my FC mate (on DRG) ends up tanking it since he severely out-geared the tank, and we were trying to help keep him alive, since we still didn't have a healer. FC mate goes down, and then the baby tank goes down around 40%. I kite the boss for the last 40% on my MCH. XD I was laughing the entire time.

FC mate says he will leave and re-queue as a healer (since I was queued in as something to level), but he couldn't get the duty to pop, and eventually got a penalty. :c So we get another DPS, and I say that I will try requeuing as a healer, and tell the tank to make sure he clicks "Recruit Members" so I can get in. I get in on AST, right after a BRD queued in. Now that we had a full party, we continued the rest of the dungeon with no deaths at all. Granted, I focused entirely on healing/tossing out cards since the tank was kind of squishy, but the other three party members did great without me adding to the DPS. We get to the last locked door, and realize we're a key short. The BRD actually ran back to grab another key, but the tank decided to just go for the boss. I'm guessing he probably wanted to go level up Marauder and get his PLD soul crystal. X3

This gladiator...I was convinced the entire run that he was actually an alt. XD He was doing extremely well for someone who was so new to the game (he said this was his first MMO, and that he was only running the trial version of the game). He Flashed appropriately; he cycled through his cooldowns better than some tanks that are more experienced. Sure, there were aggro issues, since the BRD was geared, but he did well regardless. I was so proud of the little beansprout tank!

I told him at the end of the dungeon to remember what I told him when it came to unlocking PLD, and that I hope to run into him in another dungeon some day. With the way he handled GLA, I'm sure he'll make a great PLD. He said he has another character on my server (his main was actually on another server from me), so I told him not to hesitate to send me a tell if he has a question about anything, and I'll do my best to help him. I'm just so glad to have a good mentoring experience again. :3 And I was just so proud of the tank! X3 It really is the experiences like this one that make being a mentor feel truly rewarding.


...I need to correct myself with the sprout tank if he does contact me on me server. Since I'm an idiot and gave him incorrect information. Sigh...well, so much for that...

This reminds me of the Expert Roulette I had the other day that landed me with a Black Mage with an i160(?!) weapon. All the rest of his gear was clearly enough to get him in, but somehow he neglected to upgrade the most vital piece of equipment. I out dps'd him the whole run... as a white mage.

Well I have been up for 24 hours... Now I just feel embarrassed.
I must have been thinking about WAR and mixed them up. He said he'll add me on his other character so I will make sure I set it straight when he does.

Either way, the experience was still rewarding.

So I was in Ifrit Ex as a Black Mage... everything was going to hell because the tank kept turning around Ifrit, making us wipe a good number of times. Finally we get pretty darn close to beating him but then everyone aside from myself and a healer dies so the party calls for a LB.

What do I do?
I use it on the last big nail because I had tunnel dps vision and it didn't hit me the LB was for the healer to bring everyone back until right after.

Biggest facepalm in my FF life.

Doing PotD, DRG stops fighting monster to go open chest.
Steps on landmine, sliver of HPs left
Still opens the chest; kaboom, dead.

Just wanted to give a shoutout to a nice tank I had in my group recently.

Was doing Gubal Library normal for the first time for the story quest.

This nice tank asked if everyone knew the fights. I told him it was my first time doing it and he proceeded to politely explain all the fights. I looked it up beforehand but I really appreciated that he did that.

It always makes me happy to run into nice people in dungeons :)

I truly don't understand why certain people are the way they are, including myself. I'm pretty depressed and frustrated right now.


After a long bit of waiting for my CT weekly raids, I go into level 50 roulette and end up in Sunken Temple of Qarn Hard. Warrior, bard (me), monk, and scholar. Warrior pulls the first pack, and the SCH keeps going downstairs, expecting more. Okay, fairly normal behavior, except the SCH keeps going and never comes back, leaving the WAR to chase and pull the next pack. We kill, grab the first orb-thing, then move on. SCH opens the door to the spike room while WAR grabs the pack outside. We all continue to the spike room, and the WAR picks up the taurus mob and forgets to grab the other two mobs. SCH naturally ends up getting eaten alive and we wipe. Ok, this kind of thing happens. "Really" is all the SCH says.

At this point I kind of have this slight distaste for the SCH's attitude, but it's late here, probably late for these other three, so it's possible we're all a little irritable because we'd like to sleep. We get to the first boss, and as always, perspective is my worst enemy and I'm lost as to what part has the core. So I kind of hold back, hoping the monk and scholar figured it out and I can follow suit. But the SCH isn't DPSing and the monk seems to be as clueless as I am. So we down one part together, and it's the wrong one. "Wrong target, dps." is the next quote from the SCH. Slight distaste has now been bumped up to mildly frustrated. But then I notice how the SCH isn't on the aggro list for any of the adds after we down the correct part. Suddenly I'm watching and SCH is actually just standing there, doing nothing.

We kill the boss, and the dungeon continues. The SCH is on my radar now and I'm noticing it's the exact same thing pull after pull: no dps, no healing (mostly because their fairy has it covered). This actually goes on the entire dungeon. I play Foe's when I can but of course it goes to waste. So now my head is going through options: vote kick, snarky commentary, all these things I could do if I was that kind of person. But no, I just ride things out, and we pretty much carry the SCH through the dungeon.

Maybe it's just that it's late here and what was going on was just my slightly healer-dps oriented view clashing with what was going on. But even SCH's that don't dps much at least throw out Adlo or Succor or they're fairly active doing SOMETHING. I think THAT is what's bothering me the most, paired with the display of attitude he/she had. I kind of feel terrible for allowing this to play out like it did. For someone like me and the SCH to have everything leveled to 60 and pretty well know the ins and outs of what we can do, doesn't necessarily mean we should do it if it really amounts to doing so little.

To those of you that leave duties before the circle even drops....there is a special place in the you-know-where for you, I'm sure.... ;__;

Literally had a healer leave Brayflox before I could even load in. And since I switched to PC (and my PC is pretty powerful), I was just shocked at the fact that they were already gone before I even loaded in. If there are certain dungeons you don't want to do when you queue for Leveling Roulette (heck, it was probably their Mentor Roulette), then don't queue at all. Sure, I get duties that I dislike (looking at you Snowcloak, ARF, Chrysallis...) when I do my roulettes. But I just tough 'em out rather than leave before the circle even drops.

Now to sit in the DPS queue for another 30 minutes.... I'll probably still be queuing by the time their penalty expires...

waiting to start the boss cast huton, 20 secs later cast huton again cos 2 people still haven't entered the main arena. huton yet again. tank says he'll do countdown. ok. few moments of quick explanations in party chat, quick ready check everyones good.

Bam 10 second countdown..... look at huton 24 seconds left ummmm..... ok I can work this out.... open with suiton as usual get my dancing edge up. kassatsu shadewalker, trick attack and duality armor crush, pop ration etc etc...

RAGE!!!!! Warrior goes mental at the fact I used duality on armor crush couple of the dps join the arguement..... soooo busy raging at me the first add takes down the healers.. and the group wipes fairly fast....

second attempt 2 people haven't entered the arena they're typing up some tips tank pulls locks them out.. wipeeeeeee.

3rd attempt manage to clear it and waiting for the loot rolls people start telling me about the fact I should never dualitied armor crush...... and the healer then remarks that if the tank knew so much about ninja he'd have given me a longer than 10 second countdown to start with...

fun times indeed. got me drop though at least. even more satisfying cos I beat the tanks 95 roll :D

My favorite level 50 dungeon is actually Lost City of Amdapor. But I hardly ever get it. The game likes to give me Snowcloak, and when it's not Snowcloak, it's Sastasha HM. T^T


On another note: did finally get back into Bray...after queuing for 40 mins, withdrawing to make food, and then queuing again for another 20. D: Probably doesn't help I only have English selected but...since I don't speak French or German, and my Japanese is so rusty I'd be like ??????? the entire time...would rather not land in a duty where I can't communicate.

Usually it's one of the top 6 because people will be queueing them for relics or poetics

It's a similar case to people who always get arf in the 60 roulette. Because ppl queue it for the lore. 1 run of that is 1 singing cluster

A huge thank you to the party of three, DRK, MNK, and BLM, who put up with me this morning for 60 roulette. I was groggy, still working on my morning coffee, and most of my draws and redraws were terrible. Pretty sure we shouldn't have wiped on the first big pull after the first boss like that so I am sorry again!! But my death at the second boss was just too funny. The BLM and MNK both joined me for the ballistic missile, then both danced out, then both tried to get back in and we all nearly died. Lightspeed helios failed me...specifically just me -_-.

But you guys kept it fun and lighthearted and it was a pleasure to party with you. I really do wish I could have commed you all.

Sure, technically speaking, you don't have to do anything other than what's required of you, but what's the difference between that and a BLM who just spams nothing but Ice 1 or a WAR who spams nothing but Overpower? The BLM is technically doing dmg. The WAR is technically keeping aggro. Why should they have to do anything more than what's required of them if you're gonna sit there and twiddle your thumbs for entire fights because no one is dying?

I'm not talking about stance dancing every few seconds either. If you don't wanna do that then fine. At least the assumption there is that you're also probably healing every few seconds so at you're doing something. I'm talking about healers who literally sit there for entire trash pulls and boss fights and hardly ever do anything. At some point, I don't understand how you can defend that as anything other than pure laziness.

Then, like I said, you have the gall to try and run your mouth? Get outta here with that. At that point, your contribution to the group is well into the negative and I just want you gone.

All that said, I get why you didn't kick them. Sometimes, it's just not worth it turning into a bunch of drama. Maybe they brought a friend with them and the friend keeps cancelling out the vote. Maybe the other people in the party didn't notice and think you're the one being a jerk now. Maybe you can't find a replcamenet so people start dropping out and you have to requeue. Sometimes, you just suck it up and finish out the instance because you don't wanna deal with any of that.

It happens in 24 man content all the time. I'll see healers people just sit by the door, waiting, never doing anything. They'll make sure they sprint to the next area so they can be first (what's the deal with that anyway? I see people do it all the time.), but contributing to the group during fights? Pffft, you wish. In those instances, I just bite my tongue. I hate myself for it too, but like I said, sometimes you just don't want to risk it turning into an entirely different issue that causes even more drama.

So again my attempt to help a fellow player ends up with me getting yelled at.

I wonder why I bother anymore trying to be nice and helpful.

Got Stone Vigil HM for level 50 roulette. Had a SMN(55) and a mandy bud DRG(50) and a new player bonus which I assumed at first was the DRG. I wasn't doing mentor roulette but even so I figured if we needed it I'd help out with info.

I noticed on the first pull that the mobs were dying really slowly...then I saw that the SMN was only using Shadow Flare and Ruin II and absolutely nothing else. Well...that is pretty bad play and I figured I should offer him some tips so I told him that he shouldn't only be casting Ruin II and that he should use his dots Bio, Bio II, and Miasma then Bane them. No response from the SMN and he ignored it and still never used his dots. I was like well whatever he might need more time to figure out what I meant and this dungeon is so easy its not like we can't complete it so I say nothing more and we go on through to first boss etc.

Get to second boss the cannon turtle. We did it but the SMN didn't use the cannon at all even though he went and stood at it and everyone else was all at one. Well I figured then that maybe he was the new one and not the DRG because the DRG was using the cannons so after we slowly kill it minus one cannon completely I decide I should let him know how the boss is done if he gets in there again. So I tell him, for his future adventuring, if you get this dungeon again you have to actually use the cannons to do damage for that boss; since we all know nothing else really hurts him.

Well this nets me a response from the SMN! He delightfully tells me to:

"f*** off this is my first time doing this one stop being a d***" exact quote minus the censorship.

So I was basically like "which is why I was explaining to help you?" I also said something like "you are the one swearing at someone for trying to help you so I don't think I am the rude one here"

The healer vote kicked him for harassment and I clicked yes cause I took the time to type out helpful info for this person only to have them be a jerk to me for it. Not exactly making me have any sympathy for them at this point. He gets removed and we get a MCH instead and complete the rest of the run no problem.

Found out the DRG was also new but they said that they assumed they had to use the cannons for that boss so they kinda figured it out on their own. I commended them since they did well on their first run.

I really wanna know why so many players think that explaining mechanics or explaining how jobs work is being a d*** since this has happened to me like way too often. I politely offer explanations or advice and they respond as if I just insulted their mother -_-

Reminds me of this one time I ran Dusk Vigil with my boyfriend (tank) and 2 random deeps. MCH has lvl 30s gear. He died on almost everything and I was literally screaming at my boyfriend because I'm having a hard time.

We carry him. Anyways we reque for Dusk Vigil again 2 hours later and we got him again. With lvl 40 gears. Joy.

Sastasha hard doesn't have healer specific mechanics. I'm guessing you're referring to tail screw. which is meant to be stunned. and the prey that is meant to be passed to another party member (one that doesn't have stun) so the ones that do have stun can use it...

the only reason it falls on the healers is because no one ever bothers with it since most people outgear it so much. that and they blindly toss out all there stuns for the lol dps increase

as for people being lazy it's not just a healer thing. yes I see healers standing around doing nothing in 24s mans but I also see dps just afk autoattack with the boss on /follow..

LOL, I do that myself for the opener when I am in a pug party and the tank started a countdown that doesn't match my timers; can't be bothered with requesting a certain amount of time for the countdown when a Vietnamese tank asked me if I wanted to tank with my nin when I requested a longer countdown in Sophia Ex.

The current low in population seems to let me encounter quirky players in df more than usual
- a sprout pld that weave provoke as part of his rotation (you can't miss that animation when fighting Midgardsomr) and never failing to cleave me at the first boss in Keeper despite me standing at different areas to avoid that. Also nvr flash more than once per mob.
- Tanks that always die to Mortal at the first boss fight in WoD. This has gotten so consistent that I went in as a tank this week to prepare to MT the boss
- Another provoke weaving GLD.
- Lvl 60 smn, with a i260 anima book, in a Ifrit story mode fight, casting only Bio. We didn't down the nail in time, resulting in a wipe; haven't wipe that since my first wipe there in 2013.....

And my realization going as a SCH for low level especially those under 50 makes life so much simpler (smn stats, nvr brought a sch to low level since like 2013)

Mostly because some are jerks. Some might have self-issue and take any comment toward their innefficiency as being a personal attack even if it was mean politely as a helpful tip. And finally some newcomers might have been unluckily burned too many times by rude other players and now take it immediatly badly when someone points at them.

About this particular case the previous fact that "you told him that he shouldn't only be casting Ruin II and that he should use his dots Bio, Bio II, and Miasma then Bane them" might have put him on edge already :p

Personally in random matched group I don't comment on other player skills unless they ask or I feel they will be receptive, or unless it is required to be able to progress a minimum correctly in the dungeon if someone is messing up too badly.

So, a few more fun notes from leveling on Sohm Al. This time on my DRG. We start the dungeon, tank pulls the first two groups at once, but the healer is a little slow on the uptake and the tank dies. Tank responds by immediately leaving, while the healer apologizes for being distracted. Looks like doom and gloom, surely we won't get a tank any time soon. Looks like we'll have to abandon and re--

F that, I spent too long in queue already. I let the healer know to focus me, charge ahead, pull one pack at a time and pull every tanking instinct from the depths of my soul to keep them on me. It's a little dicey at times (and my poor poor TP had never been drier), but we make it to the first boss and beat it. We're on our way to the cryodragon when a tank finally joins to finish up the rest of the run... which is fine by me. Not sure my defenses would have survived either of the remaining bosses' cleaves.

A12 normal for the week Pld tank pops shield oath, Hallowed Ground, Provokes, changes to Sword Oath and the entire raid except for me gets hit with the Divine Spear back to back then the tank leaves after 1 wipe and everyone else leaves. Wat?

I see this now and again... though usually from bards (yes, another bard tale).

3-4 wipes on A11N, we kept telling the bard pop foes. Doesn't until 2nd-3rd wipe and says "I have!" I and the OT immediately replied "you were full MP the whole time..."

Sastasha normal on mentor roulette as an ast.

I get a little excitable in low level stuff, with a little less care about party dynamic mechanics, and I know I can heal through sastasha-level apocalypses, so I'm not worried, I'm a little gung-ho, I combust!

Two pulls in the mch in the party tells me off for pulling ahead of the tank. Oops! I cop to it and tell myself to behave. Rest of the run goes smooth, except the godsdammed machinist is pulling stuff left right and centre like woah. Seriously? After telling me off for that? OK.

Anyway, I didn't say anything about it because I did't want the grief.

I've had a few bad tanks the last couple of days too. Ones who just wouldn't take the lead and pull at all. I had this one in haukke normal who might as well have just been a suit of armour stuffed with potatoes. They wouldn't communicate at all. In the end we were left with little choice but to dismiss.

My turn. I've been hopping into PotD Level 51-60 on various classes/jobs and getting 'em set up in case I want to level them there, then while on my Level 16 MRD I decide to hop into a leveling roulette. I get in, say Hi, and notice that everyone in there is on a class, not a job. I comment about that, and go to start, only to realize something: I don't have Tomahawk yet! (oops). I start to apologize, but it looks like the group just wants to get this done, so I move on, body-pulling everything and generally attempting to keep stuff from getting out of hand.

A few pulls in, I notice something: The other 3 players are all sprouts! It's pretty obvious from the way things are going that there's at least one alt present, and I think they might've been grouped together as well. Things went extremely well the entire run - everyone knew what to kill without marks needed, etc.

I finally got to apologize at the gate to the boss, where one of the players stopped to watch the cutscene. We burned him down in jig time, too. :)

Overall a great run, and I wish I could've commed all 3 players. The healer got the comm, tho - it looked like s/he was doing everything possible to help the run. :)

Some weeks ago in WoD, I met a DRG who asked for boss mechanics because it's his first time there. Oh well, as we're heavily overgeared since the Heavensward release, there's only few important mechanics left in the Crystal Tower raid, but I'm happy because someone is obviously interested in learning and playing according to them, so I explain the mechanics of the first boss that, despite us being overgeared, are still deadly.

And that's where our tank chimes in and says "Or just nuke the boss, mechanics don't matter anymore". Eh. Stop telling this willing firsttimer DRG to ignore mechanics that will kill him if ignored ._. I'm really annoyed by this snarky comment and ask the tank how he dares saying that somebody dying doesn't matter, and he answers "We'll clear no matter if anyone dies, WoD is just faceroll" and then tells me to shut up.

Well yeah. Meanwhile, our tank is maintanking the boss and, along with the DRG who was told to nuke, ignores Deadly Gaze. Do you know what happens if the maintank ignores a deadly mechanic? Yes, chaos occurs! People get cleaved and die and I end up BLM-tanking until our tank has been raised and takes the boss back (He was probably the only tank there? LOL). I ask him if he realizes what ignoring everything has brought him to, and he's just like "It still doesn't matter, we will clear nonetheless". Eh. He is kinda right with this, but imagine how faster and less stressful this run would be if people wouldn't unneccessarily die ._.

At this point I think of ragequitting because my votekick doesn't go through, but I really need this Aether Oil :( So I decide to be a real dickhead and not explain anything anymore and, as nothing matters here according to our lovely tank, get myself locked out for the second boss, planning on doing this for the remaining bosses too and meanwhile laugh about how our tank has a text and sound macro for Convalescence (srsly!?).

But soon I notice being carried, even if it's just WoD, isn't really satisfying, so for Cerberus, I'm back in, but decide not to do any mechanics and just nuke although I, as a member of group B, am supposed to enter the belly. Just like everyone else in my group, but almost everyone stays outside, only two of us enter the belly, so we get VERY close to a wipe, but people from A and C prevent it.

For CoD then, everyone ignores the meteors, only two people from C stand in them. I stand right next to a meteor, all I need to do is to move two steps to the right, but nope, mechanics don't matter, I nuke :o By the way, do you know what happens if everyone ignores a deadly mechanic? Yes, we wipe! I've never experienced a wipe that was more satisfying, although it was a dickmove of mine to provoke one, but I really thought this tank needs a lesson.

Someone from C complains about almost everyone ignoring meteors, and I just can't shut up here and so I say "Our tank told us mechanics don't matter :O" and get the answer "Your tank has never heard of meteors". Tank stays silent about this, and for the second try everyone (myself included) makes sure all the meteors are covered. After the kill, our tank leaves without a word and even before I'm out of the loadscreen, while I walk out with new bard glamour, three comms and a very good feeling :o

Now, this time for once I don't have a horror story to tell (ikr?), but more of a minor annoyance to share.

So recently, I've been into tanking. I used to not like it anymore due to a horrible run as a Dark Knight months back (and due to that I'm never touching that job ever again), but I tried Paladin and I'm liking it. Now, I'm not the best tank and I know it (one of my friends usually tanks for my group), but I wanted to try because, you know, having a tank main is good.

To get to the point, I reached lvl50 yesterday and was doing the lvl50 relic today (I like them) which caused me to end up in Amdapor Keep normal. Nothing wrong about that dungeon, but the healer, a WHM, was a big fan of pre-pull regens. Since I'm technically still learning, this annoyed me because regens generate aggro that I can't control on a pull. If I miss an enemy with Flash/Circle it starts munching on the healer's face and then I have to go out of my way to take aggro back. And being a controller player, quick targetting an enemy can cause some issues. The instant I noticed the buffs being on me before a pull I removed them from my buff bar, but the WHM didn't stop doing it. I wasn't gonna say anything either because the run was going smoothly otherwise.

What's with healers and the tendency to apply regens whenever they're down?

To be fair, pulling ahead of the tank is not the same as pulling off of the tank. But still, the dude should've been paying closer attention, especially after getting all mad about aggro.

As a healer i can say i sometimes do that so the tank has a minor healing at the start :P Dont know if i am doing bad or right, but i have never been told anything about it.

Last night, I was the duty finder story. Queued for trial on my pally with a couple of friends, one of which is the other tank. I go to pull Titan and MT, and in my linkshell, my OT buddy is screaming at me. What did my dumb self do? Shield Oath. Turned it on, but we eventually wiped die to AoE's. To my party, I'm so sorry. T-T

Please don't apply regen before a pull. In that initial phase of a pull, the tank is trying to establish aggro. Attacks by the dps or healing ticks from your regen build enmity on the mobs that your tank has to compete against to maintain aggro control, meaning your tank has to work harder to keep the mobs from eating you. It's safer to wait for the tank to stop pulling and do at least one enmity AoE on the mobs before tossing that heal.

I was doing A12 yesterday, and it was one of those groups where people really struggle to avoid mechanics. This one particular ninja kept dying, and i spent a lot of MP trying to keep raising him. Every single time i had to raise him, he demanded that i shield him, and i struggled to figure out what he meant, because i was in diurnal stance, but it turned out he wanted me to cast protect.

After our first wipe (The MT ate all four of the bleeds and stood far away from me and the other healer.) the first thing i said to the entire group was "don't try to eat mechanics, you'll die", and then i directed my attention to the ninja, who had, again, started complaining about casting protect after a raise, to which i replied "you don't have to take the raise right away, you wait until after mega holy, and even so, if i don't have the time to cast protect on you after i get you up, that means everybody else is dying and i simply don't have the time".

Seriously, he died so much that he had the maximum amount of weakness, if the boss had just glanced in his general direction he'd have died, i decided to just leave him there if he died twice. The other healer can bother with him if they want.
