Exactly, my meaning doesn't change in either statement. One just hedges bets against uncertainty. But I got another question, in which statement would I be required to provide evidence to back up my assertion? Is someone allowed to make the statement I think he killed a man without providing evidence and argumentation to support that assertion?

Do you not understand how buying games works? If I'm into X and have no interest in Y, and then for some reason there's a screwup and they give us Y instead of X, why would bother spending money on it? I'm selective with my time and resources and if I have to wait a while for them to get themselves together and add male Viera before I pay for FFXIV again, then that's just how it will be. There is a whole lot of competition in with the games coming out this year and although I love FFXIV, if they mess this up I have no other logical choice but to rescind my support.

Sure it happens in real life, but there's more restraint when there's obvious social cues and more apparent consequences. I don't have to agree with everyone that's here, but I should at least hold myself to a standard of conduct as an adult and give people the same courtesy that I would afford myself.

One can give any reasoning for a belief. For it to be truth one needs real evidence. Like one could say I think he killed a man, he has that look in his eye. But I know he killed a man would require hard evidence.

So in other words I can go back and add adjectives to my statements like "likely" and "probably" and it makes all of Shippuu's demands for evidence effectively moot even though what I am stating in the sentence doesn't actually change. Nor will I have to actually defend them giving all the arguments on this subject he gave. Correct?

You truly are the lord of revelations. You just made me realize that by this logic I have at least five assorted reasons to be angry at Squeenix and cry about quitting. Even though I likely have two dozen reasons to still enjoy the game. Look, dude, you do you--though your reasoning is childish, I won't fault you for it. I'll leave it at that.

At this point it's pretty much a case of playing the waiting game. There's five weeks to go until get any real confirmation after all.
