Because some people seem to believe that an extremely easy instance needs the best possible gear available with easy to get tomes, it's kinda like in WoW where you have people requiring ilvls far over the recommended value for old content because some people want to be carried. Now running WP a few times before AK is a different thing and would honestly help some with newer 50s that have trouble on wall. However for AK......you don't need a single piece of darklight and anyone thinking that just wants an easy run where gear drops are for nothing more than seal turnins.

Although I understand the frustration to an extent (seeing as how people exploited this over the past 1-2 weeks), people have gotten waaay more impatient than they were back in the good old days. This is a game with a 10 year plan and people are complaining that they cant easily get the best gear available only 3 weeks after the launch.... </sigh>

Watch this space for the obligatory "This game doesn't have enough content - I'm not renewing" thread.

Sometimes I feel like i'm the only person taking my time and playing this game just to immerse myself in the beautiful world SE have created. I couldn't give a damn if it takes me 5 weeks or 5 years to get the 'best' gear so long as i'm having fun!

DF is full of elitists that will demean, insult, and generally be quite unfriendly to fresh 50s not in DL gear, even more so that you have to clear the place instead of exploit sac pulling for quick 11 min runs...thus CM is now the go to place to gear up to ensure you are an asset rather than detriment to the team for AK+ content.

Whatever, back to mindlessly grinding CM; that's only like 60-80 more runs @ 40-60 mins per! The people who abused the AK bug should be thankful they only had to do 2 days of grind to do the same thing (+ get top tier tokens too) and saw zero punishment for exploiting. ;)

To be honest, i'm not having people being elitist but its also making the dungeon having alot less pugs due to the long run of the dungeon.

yeah the amount of time it takes is just too much.

1 hour in queue, add minutes per wipe, add minutes per bad players, add minutes explaining to new players

maybe complete in an hour then rinse and repeat, all the while you can't even level your chocobo? (this is one of my biggest gripes) nor can you fate farm, i mean hell you can barely do leves. god forbid you get caught in the middle of a leve, OOP TIME TO FAIL LEVE my PUG has arrived!

yes im in a FC but once the tanks are geared, theyre human beings too. they just dont want to do it over and over and over and over. i dont blame them.

There is neither challenge nor fun to be had in running Ampador Keep for roughly 30-60 hours (Longer than it'll take you to play through all of GTA V, for example. In one dungeon.) to get in enough runs to actually gear up in full darklight. The fact that it's literally the only non-story dungeon that drops a reasonable amount of tomes is just mind-boggling. Who has essentially ONE dungeon for non-raiding players to run? It's truly something to behold.

Unless you think you're really skilled and hardcore because you run a super easy dungeon all day.

So I take it you didn't abuse the AK speedruns? Cleared all the mobs in the instance? If you did kill all the mobs then I am impressed. If not then shut up because your opinion is null and void.

Gating content by having a single dungeon drop the marks required to advance to the next tier is horrible design, period -- especially when said dungeon requires a wait in excess of 1-3 hours to even enter it.

A solution would be to implement a random dungeon queue similar to Rift's. Upon queueing, players would have a chance at every dungeon in the game, and would receive tomestones upon completion. If the dungeon is sub-50, they would be synced to the proper level. Not only would this help folks get the gear they need at 50, it would help lower level folks progress and level up.
