Pulling During Cutscene

The person pulling is making a unilateral decision for 3 other people, though. People who pull during a cutscene never ask what everyone wants first.

I do believe that SE should start forcing things in situations like this more often, though. Just make the boss not targetable until the cutscenes are finished if anyone is still watching. A lot of the social problems in this game are a direct result of SE giving people freedom and trusting them to be courteous to each other. That kind of thing may work in JP but sure as hell doesn't work here.

I think it’s a $h!tty move to pull off. Speaking from personal experience though, majority of time it’s quite seldom to end up being problematic (as in leading to a wipe).

Gameplay immersion wise, who knows? Like some of us had already stated here: some don’t mind, some do mind. Personally I don’t, but that doesn’t give me the say to deny that the other spectrum of experience do not or should not exist simply because ”I don’t feel that way, therefore none of you should do”.

So, according to you only your experience is important? And nobody new ever joins the game or plays something for the first time more then 2 or 3 weeks after it's release? Imagine that, I must not exist. In fact, the dozens of people I've grouped with in the last 2 weeks must not exist. In every dungeon or trial I've ran, there's been at least one person who had never done that dungeon or trial before. And that's stuff from the base game, which is far more then "a few weeks old." With the expansion releasing soon and the free login event (not to mention free trial through the 1st expansion) there are new players coming in. They have not ran the dungeons before, they have not seen the cutscenes before, and they may well not even know they even have an inn room... let alone that you can rewatch any cinematic you've (in theory) seen in it. Hell, I knew about that and only figured out last week how to access the rest of the cutscenes for a given story arc. I'd only known how to view the first one initially, and didn't figure the rest out until someone ruined my first run through of Thousand Maws by jumping into the boss fight while 3/4ths of the team are watching the cinematic. Which pressured us into skipping it, and ended up causing a wipe.

If your time is so precious that you can't handle waiting for people to watch the cutscenes, why are you using Duty FInder to queue up for random groups to begin with? Shouldn't you recruit a few friends to go with you instead, so you're not waiting up to 50 minutes to get into each dungeon or trial? Especially if you're playing DPS, Duty Finder can take forever. Hands down, I've spent more time waiting for a dungeon then I have waiting for or watching cut scenes.

If its truly that important, and you don’t want to run the risk, runs premade with some friends. Set up a party finder. Join an fc and rally up some like minded people.
If you feel so pressured into skipping a cut scene because someone pulled, well that’s a personal issue you have and only you can resolve. No one can force you to skip it. Calm down a bit. Everyone getting bent out of shape over a few minutes. Take matters into your own hands to prevent what you don’t want from happening. But lets not try to force our will on others. Not everyone is part of a hive mentality. Not everyone goals are the same. Not everyone plays this game with the same purpose or reason. So lets stop trying to force everyone to conform

firstly. sometimes it just happen. you dont look at your party if there is indicator theyre watching cutscene and youre going to fight with boss. i dont think many players just rush into boss arena without noticing some arent ready.

second. SE should rework some cutscenes in regular/msq 4 man dungeons. its okay to have relative long, but not long long ... at the start, but at the final boss , there shouldnt be any , or just that one which will present you that boss. i really hope SE will rework it , because waiting for people in TotoRak is just crazy. it can be 3-5 minutes and there is also that thing which can push you to the boss.

third. it happens and dont worry about it. like its bad , shame , it happens, but overall dialogs in dungs where is no barrier are just for nothing i guess. or i cant remember of how worthy those are.

fourth. well people got unskippable cutscenes in msq 8 man dungeons , so they can watch it calmly with others. i cant imagine how new players or anyway all people would react if they will be still in first cutscene and party will be around middle of dung lol

Just don't expect everyone else in the party to sit back and not call you out on it then. Isn't that the original problem here? OP is worried because some people in the parties who didn't agree with a puller making the unilateral decision would get upset and encourage others to block the puller and say its toxic. If you don't want to respect the rest of the group then you get ostracized from the community right? Or I guess if you are so worried about farming things you can always set up a party finder where you have a safe space to pull at your leisure and not worry about those nasty players blocking you for it. Join an FC with like minded players and then you won't feel any pressure from the rest of the group being mean when you pull and put yourself before new players, forcing your will on others.

Also for someone who has been railing on how rude others are in this thread it sure seems like you're being pretty rude here. Of course when you feel you are righteous it is easy to not be able to see your own faults, isn't that what you said?

He thread was about how its not ok to pull, but it is ok to harass and berate people. Just cause I say things you don’t like doesn’t make it rude. Name calling, harassment, sarcasm are example of being rude. Disagreeing with you and saying to accept not everyone will play your way, is not.

I'll just add a note here that NOT all of the cutscenes are vieweable in the Inn.

Any examples? This is new information to me. Have you looked under every tab?

Most dungeons have a 15-20 sec cutscene at the start. I'd have to wonder what's so hard about waiting that long.
