Major changes needed for housing

It's pointless to try and argue against the very thing that quite a few people have admitted to doing in the first place, both before and after the changes.

God forbid you to criticize a clearly subpar system implementation, and god forbid you to criticize the unnecessary effort and leaps that people are required to go through in order to just simply get a house. It's hardly about effort. The fact the very system has on several occasions attracted means of botting and auto-clicking in order to get a house says something very substantial about it. Of any given approach they went with to solve people buying and selling houses between players they went with the absolutely worst possible implementation. Don't try and fabricate a narrative that people expect everything handed to them when there's clear issues with the system.

1. Never said the system was fine or said people can't criticize it. Ya'll can have whatever opinion you want and criticize whatever you want. I'm sorry if I'm not in agreement on points but I'm just speaking on the reality of what we have and the potential of what will happen if they choose to not change anything.

2. The system used to be worse. It's still far from perfect but it used to be worse than this.

3. Botting and other forms of game manipulation would be here with or without housing being the way it is.

4. Forgive me for thinking that people should put in effort to get rewards. Chalk it up to how I was raised but that's how I view it.

Like I said, ya'll can have whatever opinion you want, same as I can and I don't expect my opinion to change anyone's mind. That still won't stop me from voicing my thoughts.

Less desirable plots would have their prices lowered as needed to get more population in those areas.
Eliminate multiple wards (no need) With everyone in one "ward". the population in the streets would be much greater, making the housing areas seem less deserted.

The benefit of the ward is to be able to see the individual outside decorations just by passing through. If you're going to make it like your idea, then might as well remove the ward and choose your house from an NPC.

How many players bother to take the time to do that much as opposed to just porting directly to their house or their friend's house and ignoring the rest of the ward?

You don't have to have a ward setting to see what other players have done with their house. Other MMOs with housing have a variety of way for you to find and visit other player's properties (assuming they had enabled guest access). I used to go randomly cruising around RIFT Dimensions to see what other players had done and get ideas for my own and that was 100% instanced.

I said that in order to solve the issue they went with the worst possible implementation. I never even remotely implied the default system was fine or even better. Hence why it was addressed in the first place; it was obviously unfit for the direction the game was going. Why add a randomized hidden timer in the first place? A fixed visible timer of one hour would've achieved the same goal without people resorting to using an auto-clicker en masse. The issue here is you implied someone is asking for what is essentially a freebie system without requiring any effort which is false, and just a narrative you tried painting on it- There's no universe where an acceptable housing system should encourage the use of discord, autoclickers, or sat around for several hours before getting a house. It isn't even remotely healthy, and before someone comes out and cries the game doesn't require you to sit around and camp it, I said it encourages that behavior- As it is the most efficient option.

I never said it wasn't, nor did I even imply it, I simply said people are botting and autoclicking the placard to try and get a house- You know something that otherwise shouldn't exist in a perfectly reasonable system, at least to this gravity. It's 1 thing that people would bot getting Gil, but the simple fact they're botting the placard too says plenty of the broken system.

No, you see, this is the narrative that you wanted to spin on it in order to try and justify the appalling system. Had they been complaining about the price of housing then I'd have been in agreement. But they were discussing the system itself.

I'm glad that I can agree on that much; that the system is far from perfect or should be a permanent solution. Nor did I really imply that is what you were thinking in the first place.

The fact the very system has on several occasions attracted means of botting and auto-clicking in order to get a house says something very substantial about it." - Using the in-game features it's a disgusting implementation and should not really require external sources like sitting in discord servers as compensation for an already extremely poor system. - With the community of discord servers and such largely helping to drive what is an inherently flawed system. So chalk it up to expecting everything handed down on a plate- But I will continue to chalk the entirety of it up to very poor in concept, and extremely poor in implementation.

Some of the suggestions were effectively akin to pretty much largely gimping your chances in getting a plot. If you aren't camping that plot, then your chance of getting the plot in the first place is pretty low. Especially on a highly populated server; luck-driven. as is the entirety of the system itself. This is an inherent flaw of the system. It should not incite, nor should it provoke players to sit and camp a plot, or play the click game for the entirety of the duration they're sat at the placard. Whether or not their intention was this or not is irrelevant, this is the result of a blatant ill-considered implementation.

Oh, you got the plot after sitting there for 20 minutes, whilst clicking fairly infrequently. Well done; you as everyone else who gets a house on this system have done so largely by virtue of luck.

I feel like we're having the same conversation over and over again. So I'm just going to point you to the last post I made as a response to this one. You've repeated your stance multiple times as have I. I don't see anything else productive coming from this conversation. You can have your opinion and I can have mine. It's perfectly fine to not agree or like mine just like it's perfectly fine for me to not agree with parts of yours or other people's. Repeating the same thing over and over to me isn't going to change my mind same as nothing I say will change yours. I personally don't have an issue with the system as much as other people and that's fine for me to view it like that. I'm a blunt person and direct so while I will apologize for the word choice I used, I also don't take back anything I've said in this thread either.
