Just had someone in SophEx who...idk.
So, you know how she will sometimes do Thunder II after the first heavy tilt? Well they kept telling us that if we "charged" at her, she would do Thunder II. Because, apparently, every time they ran on their DRK, and and used Plunge to plunge back at her, she would Thunder II the party. I'm guessing this was aimed towards the MNK in our party that would Shoulder Tackle back to her after the charge to keep up their stacks/DPS.
We kept telling the person that the Thunder II there is based on if DPS is fast enough to push past it or not, that it will happen regardless if someone "charges" at her if DPS is too slow to push past it. Not based off of certain people doing certain moves, or "charging" at Sophia. To the very end: "She still uses Thunder II if you charge at her." *leaves instance*

I was in a good mood after getting the AST weapon drop and thought I should help out some clear parties for once :)
I..came to quickly..regret that decision ^^;
Typical "clear for a friend, everyone else must have cleared it"-party. It was appearently half a guild or something plus 4 strangers.
We were 3 BLMs and 1 BRD (don't judge..xD who needs melees anyway).
Started the fight, and...failed the adds DPS check. I had never even seen that before, back when we were all ilvl 235-240, now everyone is already above 250, how is that possible..?
Reminded myself to push DMG even more (and also turned on my 'magical crystal ball' that tells me party DMG :p). We barely made it past the adds with like 1/10th of a second left.
As the fight progressed, the BRD and 1 BLM kept on dying. In the end, our PLD with 400 something DPS did more DMG than the BRD, the BLM at least made it to 600~700 =.=
We hit enrage at..idk, around 30%? It was sad. But because I'm never feeling confident enough in my own DMG (especially since I once met that MNK in raid finder Sophia who did like 2,4k DPS >.<), I chose not to speak up.
Had two more tries that were about the same.
Then one of the healers asked: "Is anyone else new in here beside our BRD friend?"
After quite some waiting, the problematic BLM spoke up. Yes he hasn't cleared it yet but he knows what he is doing!
"Well okay, then don't die so much, please" was the gist of the response.
BLM strongly protested saying he didn't die, to which someone else who had a parser running answered "Then why is your DMG barely more than a third of the other 2 DPS?"
After another failed try he blamed the marks, saying his DPS was so low because he got assigned a tank and had to run to the front for the stacking mechanic.
So we switched the marks around, and, what a surprise - his DPS didn't change at all :rolleyes:
When confronted with that, his response: "I'm a BLM, this fight requires a lot of movement and movement kills my DPS".
UHHHM. THEN WHAT ARE WE OTHER TWO? Just cosplaying as BLMs?!
Honestly, I didn't mind the low DMG. 3 decent DPS are enough to clear that fight anyway (it was just bad luck that the BRD sucked, too).
But these superficial excuses really made me mad :mad:
We ended up abandoning shortly afterwards. -

Wanted to share some more positive stories :)
Last night I queued for Battle in the Big Keep. I waited for over an hour for the queue to pop so that was a little frustrating. But it popped and the run ended up being pretty flawless. The only death was because I ended up dying to something silly in the first phase. No negative talk the entire run. I love runs like this.
Later on, I queued for Copperbell Mines Hard. Everyone else knew exactly what they were doing. It was my first time doing this dungeon, and I felt like I wasn't at my best, especially on the golem boss where I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off. But I still ended up getting a commendation.
I love that most of this community is so nice and willing to help out. -

Just got out of Solemn Trinity on my SMN... saw we had 3 bards. Not often I see 3 of a class lol.
Second, last night my FC did maps. Not sure why, but 5-6 of them went as bard. Wasn't there for it but I bet that was funny to watch. -

King Mog NM... No clue why but people were so mad. Monk shoulder-tackled first mog, healers let him die but didn't heal anyone else until someone mentioned it.... tho they did so rudely. People wake up on the wrong side or something? -

I have run into so many DRKs and WARs without Provoke. When questioned they get so defensive and talk about how it doesn't work and they don't need it. Yesterday was a flip-flop with lvl 50 roulette and leveling roulette. Or a flop-flip, I guess if you wanted to get technical.
Flop: Sunken Temple of Qarn Hard. Me and the tank seem to be the only ones trying here. It took me awhile to notice, but our healer was the Medica II+Regen and afk combo. Oddly enough popped Shroud of Saints not for MP, but to drop aggro. Usually I kind of just roll my eyes and just hope we clear fast enough, but the MCH also didn't seem to be all there either. He wasn't loading ammo at all. No Reload or Quick Reload or anything. Just spammed shots until he got procs. This got particularly bad when we got to the head and two hands before Sabotender Emperatriz. Tank pulls and gets grabbed, I get grabbed, and the MCH is afkish or trailing behind or something. The WHM just STANDS THERE and watches us both take lasers to the face while the hands still have us. MCH finally catches up and starts freeing me (no ammo, so of course it's not quick), then I free the tank. No harm done but I was pretty ticked at the WHM at this point. Fast foward to final boss. MCH doesn't pay any attention and gets run over by mummies to 3 stacks. By midfight the MCH has had his turn in a coffin and both the tank and WHM are at 3 stacks each. At this point, the only amount of revenge I can muster is to stand by the WHM and purposely lure the boss to direct attacks our direction. We clear and of course, just a "thanks for the run ^^" and "gg guys" and they're all gone. So yeah... I hate being one of the few people actually trying in a dungeon.
Flip: The Aery. The tank is a lvl 55 WAR, but makes some pretty hefty gate-to-gate pulls. AST is on top of his/her game though and we steamroll the dungeon with no wipes, no problems. The WAR even spends quite a bit of time in Deliverance too. Props to both tank and healer for knowing their stuff enough to make that happen. -

I have seen many of these "runs in Ragnarok" this last weekend and from my experience they arent great :).
Anyway the saddest thing for me is that i decided only this Last friday to go for Sophia ex. At the beginning runs in Raid finder, a few wipes but got it. Did some grinding of it this weekend majority of times in Raid finder, some in pf like the above, 1 group very good.
For me the worst is..... 23 totems atm... Have majority of weapons...... HAVENT SEEN 1 SINGLE BIRD YET!!!

So I've put up a party finder for a Sephirot Ex group, to practice it (it was my first time so...) and we get the group together. The DPS consist of Au Ra, miqo'te, etc. But here's the best bit. 2 tanks, and 2 healers, all male Roegadyns. First time I've ever seen so many Roegadyns in a single duty! -

'Twas indeed a Gladiator, we were so in disbelief we actually double checked the party list, the search info AND their lodestone to make sure they actually, well, had a PLD and not just a GLD.
It was Gladiator level 60, nothing else unlocked, just like in that screenshot there. :(
Thing is, they apparently knew they had to level CNJ... claiming they hadn't had 'time to level a healer to level 60 yet'.
I needed a harsh reality check after this, not gonna lie. A really fast and nearly smooth (ran into issues at Forgall) Weeping City wasn't really a reality check so I went back to trying to fix my left-right issues for A11S while muddling about on my alt, haha... -

I first died because I expected to see the usually red/blue meteors from extreme, but no blue meteors exist! Twice in a row that I queued for mentor roulette and met this poor sprout whm who was born under bad luck, pugging with uncooperative team mates..
I joined in progress of a 3min Ward Up guild hest with this whm, pld, and a monk.. monk kept killing and single targetting the flying demon despite being told not to, we even filled LB bar and monk used braver to kill one demon..this whm however kept healing the party and doing a good job.. it took us around 15 mins to clear the duty with me popping up all the buffs and aoeing with quick noct.
2nd one right after that, met the same whm in Long live the queen guildhest with different composition, a dark and dragoon. Dark proceeded taking all 3 puddings and even ignored the flying fire at the start, the pudding casted sleep on the whm and the 2 bombs blew up.. the whm survive however with very low hp.. literally only 1 hp remained and we won the duty with nobody died.. I gave my com to the WHM on each duty -

Incidentally, either the other DPS was a derp or the GLA was way too hasty, because he got locked out of the first run of Graffias! That was a wipe. -

So I'll do some self-deprecating in here. Just had my longest run of Weeping city, and my part doesn't even appear until the end!
So here I am in good old alliance A with a couple newer friends who were our healers, things are going alright. First boss is kinda shaky, and the alliance nearly falls apart at Forgal. Suddenly I have a dreadful premonition of what is to come. So we get to Ozma, and without waiting for anyone to explain the fight to whomever may be new, someone in alliance C pulls. It becomes very apparent that our tank has no idea what they are doing. I won't go into lengths but we wipe. We ask the other parties to wait and start talking to the tank, no response. Someone from C pulls again so /shrug. We wipe again. Third time, tank is somehow doing slightly better despite not saying a word. Newfriends misplace meteors. We wipe. At this point our entire party is trying to get our tank to answer us in chat. We votekick. Before our new tank can even load in someone from alliance C pulls AGAIN. We wipe. Failed vote abandon.
Now for my part. It's late, we're talkin 2:30 AM at the time I did this, and I'm super frustrated. I'm making stupid mistakes, kill a couple people with the dice but we get through it and I shrug it off (or so I thought). We get to the final boss, finally a simple bossfight and I'll be done! We have 2 LB bars so our new tank says "Ranged LB". Without even looking at the party list or the minimap or really thinking at all I rush forward and mash that MF-ing LB button. It was when the wails of anguish from the rest of the alliance appeared that I saw that I had locked 2/3 of the alliance out of the boss room. We wipe once more, finish the fight and leave without a word. Brb killing self out of embarrassment.
If any of you see this, I'm not an early puller I promise. :3 -
