Viera as the next new race~ Show your support

I just happened to find a viera dancer pic:

I think Viera are kind of lame, especially given that we already have mi'qote and now au ra. The races in this game already border on being too much alike and I'd hope a future race could prove more interesting than more 90% hyur with animal tails and ears. I'm not really sure what else is out there in the FFXIV world though. They could always just come up with something new and make them originate from another continent again.

I mean.... I get that girls might want to play some cute bunny rabbit character... but there's already plenty of cute girl character races...

It just seems really pointless and doesn't contribute anything.

I can't see any real reason to ever play one.

I already play a cat girl. Cut off the ears, especially on the last one, and they literally look the same. I'm positive Fran's been posted, but at least she doesn't have a generic hyur face and has clearly distinct legs. Dat ass might prove a challenge to the devs though.

What we might get:

Ears: I think we would
Face: Again, most likely yes.
Hands: No, they would have standard sized hands.
Tail: Yes, in all its covered up and clipped glory no less
Butt: No way in hell
Legs: Nope, standard leg definitions
Feet: See Butt above

Galka lost their tail
Mythra lost their cat face
Elezen lost the elf look a bit

Everything in FFXIV loses a few things.

Those that actually support viera don't mind no feet/hands because it'll be exactly like all other races. It won't be less.
I don't think we shouldn't have added au ra because some people think it's too much like existing races.

If the support is so high that's what matters. The people that don't want them have other races to use. Like those who say they wanted a strong female au ra contradict themselves when they still play au ra instead of roegadyn.
Just like the "we want harder content" cries yoshida knows a lot of people are confused about what they want.

That was sarcasm based on the fact that any form of discussion falls on deaf ears because people are adamant that they can force Viera into the game if they scream loud enough to drown out the people who don't want it. (see above)

Like... it really does sound like it boils down to just wanting the rabbit ears (like you said), yeah? Makes adding a new race pointless (when you take away everything unique about them) when they could make a third clan with a physique similar to Viera... Miqo'te or Elezen being perfect contenders.

Miqo'te because they have animal ears and a tail. Elezen because Viera are pretty much elves.

The shorter ones look so cute~ Like an inbetween lala and miqote

Oh I see you're right! There are other Viera's that look way different than the concept art. Although I don't really know what the traditional looks like because the original was in a gameboy. Its kinda hard to see what they look like :eek:

If people can't be free to say what they think there is no need for a Forum, as a forum is a place for discussion. That someone doesn't think or feel the same as you doesn't make it less off a discussion.

Since we know by now, SE will never make a race without human hands/feets/legs, they will never look like the concept arts. This thread no longer hold its original concept since it will never happen.
So we should all move back to the other threads where you can discuss about a more possible Viera instead of holding on to this lost cause of concepts that will never happen.

There have been other threads that have discussed this very topic and it just goes in circles. It's a tired argument.

This has already been discussed. We could have both viera and more customization. Maybe not at the same time, but eventually, we could have both.

Then maybe you should post in another existing thread or make your own. Although I'm pretty sure you can find a thread that's already made. I have told people in the past to go make their own thread if they really wanted another race. This is a thread for the implementation of viera, not other races.

I think you may be blowing this out of proportion.

Anyway, I think that you may have implied that anything that might start a discussion is frowned upon by me, and that's simply not true. "Hyur with bunny ears", "expansion of customization", and "I want another race" are things I have already addressed. You have already said you do not take issue with any of those statements.
