We should only hope, since you know, he was one of the main people responsible for not only this series but other games you like I noticed you use in examples.
Explain how he caused those series to go backwards.

sorry just list me some pro's for getting back animation lock (since that was one of THE main reasons why the whole crowd left the game very quickly)
my contra's for animation lock:
- less control over your character
- unable to move or react while abillity animation
- choppy control over your character
- slow reaction concerning what is happening around you
- feels slow and lazy (longer than a GCD)
my pro for no animation lock:
- fluent gameplay
- more active control over your character
you can cancel your abillities whenever you want to, like in real life. (not like "oh i am swinging my lance for 5 seconds i cant hold on now)
- faster speed
- pvp ..imagine running after a player and stop for 3-5s everytime when you attack an other player.. and these procedures over and over again..
- a much better reacting time
- you dont have to fight animation lock as a game mechanic, you can concentrate on fighting the monster itself
and in the end compare yourself..

lazy ifrit boss combat 1.0. (stand still, get rooted by animation lock every time):
Ifrit 1.0.
or that in 2.0.? more action paced, more fun, more fluent, more control... running towards an enemy and performing a ranged attack.. and not getting rooted? woo* i feel free...
FFXIV 2.0. instance
and i wouldnt say that 2.0. animations are less good? i mean.. watch the Paladin 2.0. WS, Monk 2.0. WS...
Limit Break Trailer
not much has changed concerning the animations (when it comes to quality).. (which has been a big "pro argument" for animation lock in this forum here).. but as we see it isnt.. >Animation lock< let it burn in fire.
Whoa, look at them move around all over the place while they do those WS!
Really, those WS do look cool, but at least try to imagine one of them while the characters are running backwards or strafing or whatever. ESPECIALLY that PLD WS. The animations would make absolutely no sense. They would look completely retarded. Do you seriously think they'd purposefully show you something that looks bad in a trailer?
Now look at it from a gameplay point of view. Don't you think that pulling off the strongest move you have - say, a six hit combo with a spear or whatever - with completely unrestrained movement would be juuust a lil' bit broken? Or spamming your skills while dodging enemy attacks at the same time? Could you imagine if it was just like that for mobs also? Like, say, having Moggle Mog XII doing Pom Flare WHILE chasing you around? Yeah, that would be perfectly fine, I would imagine.
But hey, since it's just a nuisance that cripples gameplay and only serves to make it slower and boring, why don't they just get rid of cooldowns as well? Those do that too, don't they? And while they're at it, why don't they remove casting times for any sort of spells altogether? That would certainly make everything much faster and fun!
Actually they mean Ifrit Extreme. I won't assume you have not beat him, but if you have then surely you understand the frustration for ani-lock (though it should be directed at solely at latency because let's face it ani-lock is a easy mechanic to slot into your game play)
While I do not mind ani-lock and would be fine if it stayed, it's leaving is not a problem either... since there are indeed more pro's then con's for it's leaving
Honestly to me it's also an issue of fairness. A mage can't move while performing a task (a spell) but a DD can (a Weapon skill) that is truly unfair.
