Order of the Blue Garter: Open Recruitment Season

I had applied and turned out I wasn't a good fit. I actually enjoyed the application process even though I was very nervous. But they never were mean to me nor did they make me feel bad, even when they said they were going to reject my application.

So, I just went and played with another reforming endgame LS. Sure many of them are still learning the ropes of AV but in time I will get to clear all the content. I just wont be able to do it day one with BG and I can handle that.

BG has the right to be whatever kind of LS as they want to and accept and reject any applicants they want to. Sure a person here or there might be a jerk but if you don't like them don't play with them.

Also, they were so right about "Game of Thrones"!

If someone actually cared about this; I obviously play on Durandal occasionally when time permits. (Holidays, vacation, etc) and afaik Sonomaa won't be back to XIV until 2.0 and they stop making Bard come from Archer or something.

& i'm not in bg and am a total gimp in xiv

That's just the impression I got from the about us page. Since I'm not on your server, and didn't know of you guys in XI, that's all I have to go on. Actually now that I think about it, I just got out of a meeting at work where this topic came up. As far as first impressions go, you've got about 20 seconds on average to form a first impression with somebody, that 20 seconds will stick in their mind regardless what comes next. It's extremely difficult turn around a first impression, good or bad. So yeah, I'd fix that page sooner rather than later.

If you didnt do those things you would prolly be better off in a social shell, an endgame shell wont be interrested in ya.
and that is only fair cause the endgame shell been there done that already, they dun wanna start doin' it again for you dude.

I have a long list of requirements before I apply the LS'es. Unfortunately, BG still doesn't qualify. :(

How can you do those without people who can/want to do it? Despite popular belief not every social shell out there is capable of doing 'end-game content' so you can gain experience. Normally you join an end-game shell to get said experience. This is the main problem with the XIV community -- so unwilling to just open up and help people do things.

Problem number 2 -- if you're not willing to help people beyond your own personal goals, there's a problem. Some social shells have some end-game members, but guess what the general #1 rule is for end-game shells?

"You can only use our shell for end-game activities"

So honestly, this is the wrong attitude to have with such a small playerbase, especially because the new people who join will immediately get shrugged off on doing content simply because they're new and have no experience -- You know what will kill ARR? The community, not SE, especially if this type of attitude continues. Yes you can prefer people with experience, but how do you think said people even get experience to begin with?

I can promise that when you first started XIV and these content released you were in the same shoes as those you're shrugging off.

Their apps didnt say require you to have beat any content, they do however wants to see how you gear yourself to see whether you have common sense or have the min-maxing attitude when it comes to playing this game, and dont come here with stats doesnt matter in this game bullshit.. If you want people to respect you, starts by respecting yourself and dont dress like a retard.

Nobody that have skills, gears up poorly because they know how the game works. Unlike, some people that justifies their terrible gear by saying skills are more important. Its true to an extent but you are most likely not as good as you think you are.

Actually, Yuri and I got groups together and just went for it as far as early end-game went. There's no reason anyone that's not in an end-game shell couldn't do the same to gain experience needed to apply to an end-game shell. Clearly there are other folks in the same boat, those that have got a few 50s but not much end-game experience. Just shout in uldah or in your social LSes for a training run. There's probably even a few more experienced players that wouldn't mind helping out. It's not hard to gain the experience, and you don't NEED an end-game shell to do so, you might for speed runs, but just to learn the game/dungeon mechanics better? Certainly not.


I personally feel that the "experienced players only model" is bullshit, but it's not a catch 22 scenario either as some others seem to think. But what would I know? my shell is sort of a best of both type shell.
