I don't know - I mean, I've seen/know of players who've spent obscene amounts of R/L money opening gamble/loot boxes - although I'll concede that, in some cases, it's a byproduct of a gambling addiction.

Eitherway, If you want to point the finger at people having too much disposable income and "not being smart" with it, look at that sort of MMO player who does that sort of thing first.

This is my biggest gripe.

They want to put it in the cash shop? Ok, but do it after the PAYING players have the opportunity to obtain it IN GAME.

It's not that hard to grasp:
1. Whales give more money than the average player.
2.Company sees the trend and leans harder on the cash shop.
3.Whales spend more on the cash shop.

Yes, thank you - I'm not certain why you think I don't understand. I'm hardly oblivious to the fact that most gaming studios, particularly those managing Free to Play games, only understand or care about feedback that is communicated via Credit Card.

And therein lay the point I was trying to make; F2P games are FAR more reliant on whales spending money in their cash shops, than a subscription model game. And as I said in an earlier post, games with business models of that nature do tend to suffer in some way or another; the emphasis on trying to keep whales invested in throwing their credit cards at gamble boxes or big-ticket cash shop items means that higher quality story and battle content are often neglected.

It really bothers me that this went to the cash shop. I was actually excited for it and had a few glams planned with the pieces. This isn't worth 18$ LOL. No wonder you can't see a single soul wearing this set ingame.
Same goes for the fat cat set, but at least I already knew this one would be in the store.

I don't know about people in-game, but it's been all over Eorzea Collection since its release.

A) Cash shop is one if the deals Yoshi P had agree with place for Corp. SE to Ok ARR
B) Its ran by a seperate group from Creative Business Unit 3, and ran by a lady Yoshi P is very much afraid of
C) Devs have to regularly add something new to cash shop as per contract
D) On top of all this, there is also seperate deals with Chinese and Korea companies that regulate those versions of FFXIV which also demand new cash shop items regularly (Cash shops are very much the norm in those places)

Where is this insider information coming from?

I just want to note the only reason I am upset is the last time we got a Christmas outfit was the Choir set in 2018. Thankfully I have been playing long enough to have a Christmas outfit I gained for free but 4 years seems a bit excessive to not hand out a new outfit, especially given the wave of players ShB and EW brought.
