What? I got my rewards fair and square, so I have no clue what you are on about. In the same vein the times I tried and failed to make top 100, I had no one to blame but myself cause, you know, that's how a competitive ANYTHING works. Like for real, name one actual competition that is anything close to what you described. Maybe wrestling or boxing? But that system exists nowhere else. If you think your magical system will ever fully stop selling, cheating, etc., then you have never done anything competitive because people will ALWAYS find a way to skirt the system. Not to mention those issues make up a small percentage of those in top 100, mostly DC depending. Adding chat back as a positive thing, that's a good one lol.

I wanted so hard the Dreadnought from current Season 20, so I tried Feast... but it's so impossible. I agree that an issue of maintaining current queues is an issue. My personal biggest complaint it that the highest tier is Diamond, and the stretch in skill from a new Plat to a high diamond is so wide, that it makes games unfun to even play. Considering you can make it to even Diamond with less than a %50 win rate is definitely an issue, as it means even in full diamond matches the skill gap is so varied that it boils down to which RNG team you get decides whether you win or lose, which again isn't fun. There needs to be a reason for people to queue past "securing" their top 100 spot to maintain longevity.

Every competition is like im describing dude, im literally defining the word competition to you since you don't know what it means.

Can you prove it though?

In a proper competition we would know with certainty if you are or not and you wouldn't need to tell us every single time you post thanks to a little something called fairplay and game state. When a sportsman IS a winner it is EVIDENT and if something is wrong, we have a clear view of the state of the game so we know that something is wrong. Here we don't have that, there is no way to check the state of the game at anytime, there is no way to guarantee a minimal standar of fairplay. The very scarcity you think gives value to your achievement is actually the reason why it has so little value: your game mode doesn't even work outside particular hours of the day, stagnated by the lack of interested participants, there is not a large community, there is not enough eyes/streamers/competitions/organized events to know, when the community looks at PvP ladderboard only sees confusion, some blurry numbers and the apareance of a competition going on.

With a recurrent reward track, that each season put the rewards on the line. After a few iterations you would be much more confident that mounts and glamours would be on the hands of actual competitors: You wouldn't be able to purchase them if you were not a good PvPer, or you might, but you will surely lose it the next season unless you wanted to pay for it every season - something that can be much more consistently tracked by some kind of actual fiscalization. Throwing endless matches to it to tilt the scores wouldn't work either, nor trade, since the reward will be lost by "unfit players" eventually they will just be rolled out each season by the masses of players that now, actually have a chance at getting a reward of their like.

You will still have the rewards only in hands of those who passed the SKILL check - They managed to qualify top 100, and then again, and then again and so on. We might even give enough stability to PvP with that that we might actually have players with the right to be "champions" - some cool looking features might even be added, like diferently tinted titles or special FX for particular skills or actions, like a diferent tone Limit Break for current champions: Imagine being in a dungeon and knowing someone is the current champion of PvP because his limit break has a diferent color than anyone else. Or he has a particular title with a diferent color, or a proper emblem like those of mentors.

All of this, but only IF they are the top 1, top 10, top 100 OR they are able to maintain their ranking. No sleeping on laurels. Thats the essence of a competition.

Or you could just have SE actually monitor various content in the game and remove all cheaters/players involved with RMT. SE has already also confirmed that the reward system for PvP is changing next expansion.

It actually boggles my mind that people who love the Feast but always push back against releasing old Feast rewards... don't realize it is exactly the Top 100 reward structure that strangled the Feast and caused it to die.

Why would people want to participate if they knew for a fact they would never get into Top 100 for the reward? Why would people want to participate if they just joined the game and found out that the coolest mount and armour is already gone and they don't like the new reward? Why would you participate if you kept getting throwers in your matches or the people who use insta-interrupt cheats? Hell, you don't even see the rewards in game anymore. The last time I saw a Hellhound was in early Stormblood. I've never seen Hellhound armour. The older rewards effectively do not exist anymore, so why do people get so mad at the idea that something cool could be given to other players of the Feast?

It's pointless to complain now, since the Feast is dead in EW *crab rave* and hopefully it's reward system with it.

You can like some aspects of things without liking everything.
I like limited time rewards as a concept, knowing full well I've missed some myself. "You can't have everything" is a reasonable take on anything in life, this game included.

On the contrary, it sounds incredibly irrational for a game in fact.
Specially when that "can't have it" is due to variety of reasons, many not in the player hands and not related game mechanics, skill checks or player performance.

Right, because no one ever says that anyone won unjustly in any competition even with complete statistics. No one ever says "Oh, such and such only won because they had X and that was an unfair advantage"/s. And personally I can prove my rewards. I can prove it by the time I've spent, by the games I've played, and the games I have won. Hell, I can do one better, I can show you the hours of vods of my matches on my Twitch, the time and energy I spent on guides for the community, and the hours I spent on match reviews for the sake of others.

Unless you specifically have data to show that someone received their reward unfairly or unjustly, it is extremely disrespectful to assume anyone did not deserve their rewards. They are in no way obligated to prove to anyone that they earned their rewards, and you have no right to question them unless you have evidence to disprove otherwise fair play. The scarcity of the achievement is because it's a top 100 per data center in a game with millions of players. It's SUPPOSED to be scarce, that's what makes it a rewarding competition. In a game where everyone can get almost everything, it is emotionally rewarding to have something that little people have, again, the essence of a competition.

In your mindset every person who clears an ultimate gets all their weapons and titles removed until they beat the next ultimate that comes out, so they can show they "earned" it.

What I fail to understand is where you are coming from. You don't even PVP to begin with. You have zero PVP mounts or minions, hell, you don't even have the minions that can be bought in a single day with a handful of wolf marks. Do you really have the PVP community's best interest in mind, the spirit of true competition in a mode you don't even touch? Or are you just upset that there is an item in-game that you can't get?

Counterpoint. I am pretty sure every Moogle tome event we have had so far, with a new one on the way, offered a limited time reward. As far as I know, you can no longer get them once the event is done. So people have to live with that fact if they miss out on it.

I agree, I'd like to see some of the old armor come back and increase Wolf Marks from 20k > 80K and just make the old armor cost a lot like 60k for a chest, 60k for legs etc, that way PvP is more lively, hell they could even make the mounts like 100k or something and people would still do it.

The issue I have with the Feast is that it's been exploited since Season 1 and we're now at Season 18 and all you have to do is look at the leaderboard and see that Primal is just a win trading data center with the same people who've been controlling it for years are still controlling it so even if you want to try and PvP as a newcomer you're already ousted.
