That is trippy. It would make sense, I think, if I remember correctly, Ultima is weaker than Omega, and Gaius is said to be weaker than Nael.

Just don't put any of these bosses in an instance and I will be the happiest galka around. If they do to these whats been done to the primals I think maybe that will be all she wrote for me on playing this game. You can add all the cool mobs to a game you want (which we need! no arguing that) but if they do so in the manner of 8 person instanced combat with some crappy totum style drop mechanic, its still crap. Can't polish turd people.
The full Hidden Artifacts EN artwork has been revealed! Like I mentioned previously, stay tuned to Topics in the coming days for more Hidden Arts goodies! :)
Looks amazing!
HNMs for 2.0 maybe :D
There was mention of a way, that is the only way I can see roaming nms working at this point. They basically have a spawn window and you would go up and take an action on it and it would take you into an instance where you fight it with your party. Kind of like an mmo take on a traditional RPG boss fight.

Is this the dragon on this? :O
MMO worlds are boring as is when everything exciting is either phased to you or in an instance. The only reason drops 'suck' is because everything is in an spammable instance, which is why the world spawn old "HNMs" still had for the lack of a better word, the 'best' drop system.
Yeah, tough luck posting on a weekend Bayohne. No one is bored at work and making snap judgements and poor assumptions, let alone feel like apologizing for making them.
Thanks for the great art and making me excited about a future battle.
Bayohne, if its the weekend, you must be alone in the office. Upload some pics of what Ishguard looks like on the inside ^^;
We won't tell anyone ;-x
Promise

what is he ranting about?
Actually, I have been playing since the beginning, kthanks. The bot may have been popular with certain crowds, but that does not correlate with it being the path of the majority. Without actual evidence to back up your claim, you are merely engaging in hyperbole. Nothing more.
On the open world HNM thing, they could put in place some of the old claim rules like claimers only being able to attack it - just for HNM (keep normal mobs as they are).
The current claim system would make HNMs too easy to steal, if you can attack them you just get hate and run them to the edge of their leashed area and they go yellow again when the AI makes them return to their territory.
If HNMs do get put in they should have no leash and wander entire zones!
The best way to implement an open world HNM is having no such thing as claiming! Rewards are evenly split based on how much people contributed.
Of course, after a certain number of idiots- i mean- campers- I mean- people who want to help is reached the diluted rewards are totally not worth it any longer, this way people stop trying to camp :D
(i'm being full of hate here because I hate spawn campers)
This ain't the thread to be discussing HNM pops and claims but, I'll give my opinion on it: Think about Absolute Virtue from sea, Bahamut, or Pandemonium Warden, and Kirin. I think they should make it so we have to kill lesser NM's and get their key-items, and then pop the boss HNM when you gather all the key-items. When you pop the HNM the key-items will disappear so you'll have to farm the key-items again.
This method is a legit way that doesn't involve hours of idle camping. trigger pop ftw
look its Nidhogg everyone lol
For fear this is totally off topic, I will keep this short. I Play MMO's to be part of a community, and an organic social experience in a virtual world. Constantly seperating that community in a way that allows for only small interactions with low numbers of people in a contained enviroment is (in my opinion) completely counter intuitive to the genre. I can't get the camping or safari experience I am looking for by going to the zoo, no matter how pretty and awesome they make the zoo look.
If I want instanced combat and questing I will go play Star Wars or Diablo 3.
Hrm! I do not bed on that being Nidhogg at all. Reason being is that it's yellow!
Might seem senseless but, yellow really brings about a feeling that it's elemental, same with blue and red enemies WILL make it look like it's ice or fire elemental! And given what i've seen of the Dragoon storyline (all of it) i'm a man that blieves that Nidhogg will be non-elemental. Or at the very, very minimum fire affinity.

Each concept art is revealing one of several major NM's which represent one of four very different categories of Boss battles known in previous titles.
English - Yellow Dragon - Elemental Dragonkin [All]
Japanese - Behemoth - Overpowered Open World Bosses [All]
French - Ultima Weapon - Weapons [FFVII-FFXIII]
German - Axbeak? - Unknown

What about an Open World Boss that REQUIRES several parties to take down? All participating parties get a chance at a drop. If the mob survives, no one gets any chance at a drop. So rather than people trying to "claim" the HNM, it would be several parties organizing to defeat a boss that would be undefeatable by a single greedy party. This will also promote the idea of the more the merrier. So if you want a chance at a drop, join a participating party.
I've seen this implemented in f2p MMOs before to much success and they are fun as hell.
Those were world bosses that were scheduled to appear at certain times once a week. Everyone would get a message on screen (this could be done via npc linkshell amirite?) an hour and half an hour before the boss spawns. People can head to the spawn location and party up/prepare. All who participated had a chance to a drop. What made it even better was how fast the boss mowed down everyone. It literally required 50+ people to take down one of them.
Oh gods I hated plesioth so much... Soooooo much.
Broken hitbox doesn't even begin to describe it.
I wouldnt mind seeing these put in as open world trigger HNMs

im guessing that the en one would be faf or tiamat.
and then ultimate weapon, and last lolKingbehemoth
Yo, Suzaku!
Ultima Weapon? I think so!
why is it taking so long for then to reveal the ultima looking one dammit
Actually it seems their community is very small, the German and French one. I checked it, and it only has 2 pages worth of answers. In contrast the JP and EN go to 9-14 pages in a matter of days. It's possible that nobody has guessed it yet. You guys can help, just use Google Translator to translate question and post the answer lol.
German question:
What is Yoshi-P's favorite food?
French question:
What is the favorite monster of the FINAL FANTASY series by Naoki Yoshida?
Japanese question:
Yoshida of elementary school age person P had been longing or who will? (lol.)
I think this one is similar to our question "When Yoshi-P was in high school, what kind of job did he originally want to do?".
