Physical/regional servers FINALLY confirmed ??! (Y)

And we are talking about of a TECNICAL FEATURES! You're arguing about people that want simply "modern features" that are a standard in mmos from 5-6 years to now. I really can't undestrand you guys, SE asked you 1000$ each if they implement a standard? Uhm... :/

I don't see where is your problem. Local servers are still not confirmed, and even if they'll be, international servers will coesist, so you will stay there with all your international friends and blablaablaa...

While me, and who wants to play at high level, with fastess possible latency, will move on local server...

So where is the problem?

Do it like GW2:

1 AH, all servers use it, so server location or even world your in means nothing to the economy.
Server Guest feature. Want to play with a friend on his server? Just "Guest" there.

That way you still have regional servers but you can still play with others anywhere XD

Or ya know, just realise 2.0 wont have 10k players and there will be several thousand online a time, regardless of how many servers. Plenty of peeps to hold hands with.

ok this will be my last response here since you obviously just shrug and discard every point of concern i make anyway and wasting my breath is not one of my favorite past times
so ill make this as clear as possible:

The problems:
)People wandering off to regional servers with the promise of "you suddenly play like a pro without that fabled LAG" will cripple existing international servers

)New players are going to prioritize regional servers since they are used to them from other games, crippling the flow of new players on the existing international servers

)you have friends, your friends have more friends, they are from all over the world most of the time,
try to keep every single one on your server against that sirens call.
its impossible
see the outcry from the server merge at first,
it may have been forced for everyone but everyone could also choose freely
so in a perfect world all just go to the same new server right?
that's just not how it works in reality thou, there are way too many factors for that.

regional servers will ruin one of the best factors the game has, a colorful international community, making the servers busy 24/7

for me the cons BY FAR outnumber that bit of ping people hope to gain (if that's even necessary at 2.0)

Yumi_Hibiki, Yoshi-p already stated they plan for more recommended servers in 2.0, it makes sense that new players will go to those recommended servers unless they have friends on existing servers.

So assuming a server like Ragnarok that has a majority of EU players on, doesn't it make sense to move that server to the EU if it gives those players a better playing experience.

We get that you are happy to stay as part of an international community and that you don't have a problem with latency hindering your gameplay, but not everyone feel the same way you do, so maybe you should be a little less close minded and think from someone elses perspective hmm ?

Nobody is saying make Ragnarok completely EU only, we are just saying if its recommended for EU shouldn't it also be optimised for them. (this goes for future recommended servers for other regions also)

So basically you want to deny *everyone else* low latency gameplay because you want to force people to stay on a server that's not ideal for them. Now that is at least every bit as egotistical as the people who want low lag are.

sometimes it is necessary to force people into what they don't want, than letting them ruin the experience for everyone by giving them what they do want. its a mind set Yoshi is truly lacking for, and Tanaka had to much of.

I feel pretty confident that it won't ruin the experience for any of us who really wants lower latencies, and at the same time realizes that as long as regions aren't forced, we can play with both our european and american friends.

International servers haven't been required to make other MMOs successful, why would FF14 automatically fail (implying it could fail more than it already has!) by adding regionals?
