My only problem with jumping is that 99% of jumps will be done out of boredom.

Yes, maybe having a jump where you roll on your side in the air to evade an attack. More like an automated animation when evading occurs... in mid air.

That was before 2.0 and the new engine was announced. If you've seen the video from the last letter, it is clearly not an emote. unless you can run "emote /jump" to be able to jump forward which sounds ridiculous.

Haven't you stopped to think that with 2.0 they don't want to shoot for a niche market of players like yourselves? That's what FFXI was and SE was comfortable with that. They were comfortable with making another MMO for the same group of people til it failed. Maybe they want to be bigger and not lock out a market that is starving for the next best MMO. It's actually a really good time for them to redevelop the game and release 2.0. Leaving out these MMO standards would be a terrible representation of a next gen MMO. Something they are going for.

some would say you obviously haven't played 11, others would say you did and you just don't get either 11 or 14....they have nothing in common except the name even now with the new team. I would say you have no clue what you are talking about. 14 failed because they tried to make it more open to casual players. Every Yoshida article states that they need to put more content for hardcore players.

I don't feel the jump is too high for a Final Fantasy title either. :D
