I said I wouldn't hold my breath on any sort of news going into FanFest, but I have to admit that I'd be pretty disappointed if they spent the past two years completely silent on there being more (non-modded) hair for Viera and then go through the whole of FanFest without any announcement at all in relation to it.

God I hope this gets fixed. Its one of the most asinine things about hrothgars...especially since they previously revealed that hrothgar hairs will be limited compared to other people

2 hairstyles (or who knows...maybe it will be bumped up to THREE) does not make it worth spending 10$ on it

I for one am very hopeful that some news for Viera and Hrothgar will drop this weekend, I do not care if it's a simple "we're working on it still" statement or " SURPRISE!!!! complete overhaul with 30 new hair options each for you" statement, as long as it is some kind of statement/acknowledgement about a portion of their paying customers.

Of course if nothing, I will quietly riot/foam at the mouth behind my desk, but REMAIN VIERA.

It will be 30 hairstyles, but you still need to buy a Fantasia to change as a Hrothgar. :p Those meddling little server limitations strike again!

If not, then the collective groan of disappointment will be enough to summon two new primals in the image of the Viera and the Hrothgar that repeatedly rip off their hair to reveal yet another fabulous hairstyle underneath.

All shall love them and despair.

I find it hard to believe there will be nothing but that turns out to be the case it will be very depressing. I love my Viera and have waited patiently. I'm not about to change them given I have alts and love the different races and can enjoy them without fantasia.

I hope the fan fest will be a big success even though I think Shadowbringers is going to be a hard act to follow.

I think they will add 1 new hairstyle for both races.

Personally I wish they made it so both races could use all available hairstyles and wear hats, but seeing how they have been silent for 2 years, it's better to already be disappointed.

Yeah, but wouldn't it be worse if they added those 30 hairstyles for viera/hroth, and they are GOOD for hroth? Hrothgar players would want to change to those hairstyles, and have to fantasia more often. I think we all know that probably won't be fixed. :eek:

In all seriousness though, even if it's unlikely I really do hope they at least fix that. It's easily the worst character creation "quirk" of any playable race.

Hrothgar hairstyles still intrigue me because unless they magically separate face and hair, either only one of the 4 faces (probably face 2, due to sheer popularity) will get a new hairstyle at a time, leaving the other 3 in the dust, or they'll make 4 variations of it for each face every time a new one comes out, and somehow I don't think the CC spaghetti code can withstand the latter.

...or they'll just ignore the race altogether

Two of the faces are pretty common, not just the Runar-like.
Even when it comes to a beast race, people will gravitate towards what looks cool or cute. And the two faces fit that. The other two... Well, one looks like bootleg orc-faced Kimahri and the other has unremovable spikes and a meat mustache. No wonder they're nowhere near as popular.

Face 2 (Magnus/Radovan) is actually by far the most popular, hence why I think that one would be the first candidate for a new hairstyle, Runar's face only became popular rather recently, likely after many Hroths got tired of the same face syndrome, but yeah, they're the 2 best faces. The only people I normally see with the Kimahri face are those who are literally roleplaying as him (no offense to any face 4 Hrothies out there!)

From what I know, the best hairstyles are also attached to the Runar/Magnus faces, which don't help things. Unlinking the hairstyles to the faces may fix it and encourage different faces. Hell, I'd possibly choose one of the other two faces if I could have these glorious locks on them.

They look great :)

I actually just screenshotted all hairstyles and copy pasted my char's face over to see how he'd look with them lol but I've seen the modded Jecht's hair around so...maybe it's how they do it?

Yeah those look fantastic. Tbh I feel like a quick refitting of all these hairs for Hroth, as well as select legacy hairs for both viera and hroth, would be an easy way to please the player base without having to struggle to make all new assets.

Yep, I get that it takes a long time to make a (potentially) good amount of new hairstyles for 2 very different races. But like, nobody asked them to do that lol they literally chose the most time consuming option and then, shock horror, struggle to find the resources to actually do it.
