So with the new Races being released, Is it possible to get a name change with it too? I'm not planning on it but i know a few ppl that would like to change their name and race once 2.0 comes out...
1: Would SE be willing to offer all currently active players in the game a life-time subscription option for enduring what has otherwise been a chaotic experience at times with FFXIV?
2: I'm sure like many players I don't like my hardware constantly maxed by a game for extended gaming sessions even at lower settings. Will the new engine for the game be more resource efficient then what we have now?
3: You've stated that Jobs will be tied to our Class level.
I'm curious because say I have a max level marauder, gladiator, lancer or pugilist. I then level Conjurer to 30, Thaumaturge to 15 to unlock "White Mage". I then switch back to my max level marauder, gladiator, lancer or pugilist. Will my newly acquired "White Mage" be max level based off my Discipline of War Jobs? or Will it only go by the Discipline of Magic Jobs?
4: I noticed as a New Zealand Player I'm forced to pay in Euros for my subscription when it goes live. Are you going to adjust the fees for the price difference for the subscription in different areas considering those of us paying in Euros are nearly paying double what Americans are charged for the subscription to FFXIV?
5: You've said that Odin will be a wandering Primal that will get stronger the more times he is defeated in battle. Won't he just get to the point where he just one-shots everyone regardless of level, gear and active damage blocking/diminishing skills?
6: Will you give us the ability during re-customization to change our names?
7: How are you going to balance the economy come 2.0 full release? I mean there is a lot of gil in circulation already, more by the time 2.0 hits, aren't you afraid of us established players creating a high entry bracket into the market place for new players?
8: Most MMORPGs don't charge for characters (or retainers/banks/storage) via a subscription charge, have you looked at removing this aspect of FFXIV given your company is currently the only one in the market doing this absurd practice?
9: You stated we will be essentially getting player housing, will this be customizable like in FFXI?
10: If "homes, estates, mog-houses, etc" are customizable would you consider adding trophies to the achievement system? For example: I beat Ifirit, I get the achievement for beating him and then once I unlock that achievement (or via the coffer) I get a trophy of Ifirit for display in my house. Doable? Considerable?
11: I was wondering if you would take a request for the end-day of the sixth age of Eorzea... See many people think that we lalafell's shouldn't be saved on the final day of the sixth age and we should all die gruesome deaths while fleeing for our lives, many of these incidents revolve around airships crashing into the ground or mountains whilst fleeing Gridania while it BURNS!!!!!!! *cough*
I was wondering if you'd give us lalafell's the power to shot laser beams from our eyes to save ourselves from these gruesome deaths through ocular propulsion? or the power of Greyskull?
12: Can you give linkshell management (pearl handlers & creator) the ability to kick people from the linkshell without being in proximity to them? Many linkshells have had to re-create themselves numerous times because they have filled up with too many members that left the game and couldn't be removed, can you fix this?
13: Can we have a dye system in the game to buy items to change the base color of our gear?
14: Many people like certain types of gear in the game but then have to upgrade into something less appealing to their tastes or character persona. Would you be willing to add appearance customization slots to gear management so we can have a certain set of items equipped for stats but another entirely different set that will show up on our characters? (restricted to armors only, not weapons).
-Regards-

Hello again. :)
If possible, I'd like to ask an extra question, adding it to my previous ones. Thanks!
*Bonus question*
I was extremely lucky when I met Nael van Darnus, but no luck yet in meeting Kipih, Dural and Petyr, and I've been trying since the end of August.
Can you consider making these Game Master-controlled characters to appear in a less random way, giving some hints on their next appearance, or also (*dreams*) if they could “feel” there're good-spirited adventurers nearby and appear next to them? That is, adventurers actually interested in chatting with them and caring about the happenings in Eorzea. [Reference thread]
Are the cities going to be redesigned in more interesting sense?
On the subject of patch 1.20...
What types of additions can we expect in patch 1.20 aside from what's already been mentioned in one of the FFXIV roadmap documents?
Could you go more in-depth as to what player "self-combos" are going to be about in terms of bonuses to damage, conditions to pull them off, etc.? Is this the potential new face of Battle Regimens?
Several of my linkshell members have expressed frustration at the general combat abilities of current classes, specifically the lack of effective tanking abilities for Gladiator and confusion over what roles conjurer and thaumaturge will be taking. Supposedly patch 1.20 is when most of the class rebalancing will be complete. Could you please explain in further depth what types of changes we'll be seeing to current classes?
I have an interest in culinarian, but as posted many times the system is more than a bit broken. If I recall correctly, patch 1.20 was supposed to be the patch to "fix" cooking. What types of changes to the system are going to occur? What types of effects will we see from eating different types of food, for example?
On the subject of the future(2.0 maybe)...
Enemy limb incapacitation was always billed as an interesting way to make battles go smoother and gain higher chances for certain loot, however the lack of any physical effect to a mob(like seeing a dodos face bashed in) made it seem pretty dull. When incapacitations come back(perhaps with battle regimens?), will you include new animations and perhaps visual cues to make this interesting mechanic more pronounced/cool?
What kinds of changes are coming to gathering mechanics? I've read around several interviews that you'd like to introduce new items only gatherers can obtain, however I feel that the current gathering actions and "mini-games" are relatively monotonous and obtuse. Are there any plans on spicing up gathering?
On that same note, are there more gathering classes in the works? For example, the rumored "Shepard" class?

I'd quote it for you, but it's ruddy massive. The long and short of it though is discipline locking based on gear colour was a mistake of some sort and in the long run, they plan to replace the manually coloured textures with a system uses null textures and then colours them based on either a default or a dye applied post-item creation.
'Result should be between 24 and 32 colours for every piece of gear.
For questions regarding the future of patch 1.20, I have only one.
During my time in FFXI, the most favored job to me was Dark Knight. Seeing the newer jobs being released, I'm a bit worried. Will I never be able to use my scythe again? I miss Dark Knight and was hoping it would be reborn in FFXIV but... Seeing Dragoon, it looks as if it's the next Dark Knight... So, will Dark Knight ever be brought into FFXIV?
Will my Guardian ever be relevant in any way? I'm talking about the fact that I chose The Scholar and my friend chose The Destroyer makes no difference at all. Stat difference? A skill? A bonus on somehow-related leves? Anything?
I want my Guardian to mean I am gonna be a kick-ass Alchemist!
Was this asked already? This thread is huge.
sorry if this was asked already but are you planning to implement a system, be it gear swaps or otherwise, wherein previous gear and thus the events that they come from are not fazed out every update? As we currently have a clear progression leading up to now where the only current endgame is Ifrit and if you want grinding materia because of this.
A while back you mentioned there would be a complete overhaul of the fishing system. Is this still planned? and if so, when do you plan on implementing this?
Will we have Musketeers?
Are there any plans for a feature such as FFXI's level sync? Many players have multiple jobs at 50 now and trying to find a party as a lower class is a nightmare. Level sync could help immensely.
Two questions: First, when is Limsa getting it's last two combat guild put in ans second: is ALC ever going to feel useful? Even being able to make fire pots or enfuse some more weapons with En-lightning or something along that lines would mkae it feel vastly more worth while.
I have a friend who I'm trying to come back and start playing again because of how good the game is after 1.19. His biggest drawback is the armory system. He likes to play a warrior class. In FFxi and other MMOs a warrior class could use different weapons. like an ax two handed sword or a sword and shield ECT. With the armory system he is forced to use only one or two kinds of weapons. Is there any thoughts on making weapons cross class to give more of a choice for melee classes?
Crafting is painfully boring. Which is a problem because crafting and gathering, as part of the original game's design, are supposed to be viable alternatives to playing combat oriented roles within the community.
As it stands today, it seems the majority of crafters over level 10 are scripting/turbo controller/etc in order to make the process tolerable. But that isn't really playing the game.
I guess my question is: With crafters playing such a huge role in the economy (providing 95% of the gear at somewhat affordable prices), when will this avenue be opened up to REAL players? I'm talking about faster to level or actual engaging gameplay that isn't pressing enter 100,000 times.
My girlfriend and I each have our own characters but only on one account. Has there been a thought to allow us to transfer characters to different accounts or allow more than one log in to the same account? Like maybe per character?
I know this would cause a RMT issue but we would love to see a way around this problem.
Because when my lady gets her new computer we will never be able to play together unless one of us starts over from the start.
Are there plans to fix the "bottlenecking" of the mage jobs with the ability point system?? I know at least 5 people that played FFXI, but will not want to play FFXIV based on the fact that as a mage you get a lot of spells but cant use them because of lack of points. Other than that I can honestly say I have no complaints about the game and I like where it is going so far.
Will you be adding a Costume system that will allow us players to customize how we look in game cosmetically? For instance since the arrival of the adjustments to the armory system locking gear to class and level a lot of us players aren't able to mix and match gear anymore. Of course this would only apply to equipped gear not weapons.
Also will you be adding the ability to hide our name plate on our client side so we can finally see the center of our screen instead of seeing our Characters full name blocking and ruining the visual aspect of the game?
Also wheres my Samurai Class? and please don't make the samurai a slow attacking class because the samurai sword isn't at all have or a slow swinging weapon like the 2 handed great sword.
Starting from patch 1.20 leading up to version 2.0, can you speak on how much story content pertaining to the main story, or even side stories will be added and with current players having the first version of the game will they have to purchase version 2.0 upon it's release?
Thank you Square Enix for your hard work on this game.
My question:
Are there any plans to make the camera more lively in battles?
Like in Final Fantasy XIII, with the zoom in on the characters while they attack, for an example.
Here are my questions:
1. Will physics be added to the world, specifically gravity? It seems kind of silly to have my character instantly teleport to the ground when I step off a cliff or something.
2. Right now, many areas are covered with aggressive monsters that can kill even level 50 characters in a couple of hits, which makes these areas almost impossible to access and explore. There also seems to be a strong preference for pigs in doing the killing, which I found bizarre; there's an aetherial node in Mor Dhona which is guarded by nothing but level 70 pigs, and the area around the exit to Thanalan is almost all Truffle Hogs (what is it with you guys and pigs?). Are there plans to open up more areas on the maps, like Crimson Bark, Riversmeet, Agelyss Wise, and the like before 2.0?
3. Related to the above question, I find that certain mobs are only encountered at levels that you couldn't possibly hope to defeat them. Morbols, for example, are all in the 60s or higher, which is disappointing as they're one of my all-time favourite Final Fantasy creatures. It'd be nice to be able to fight these mobs, even if it's just for a leve or two. Are there plans to make more mob types available for combat at lower levels?
4. When doing the storyline quests, I found it impossible to reach Crimson Bark before 50 since the entrance to the camp was always guarded by 1-2 Diremites in the high 50s that would kill my character in one or two shots; since they aggro to sound and The Black Shroud is all trenches, this made getting past them an exercise in futility. It's made all the more odd when you finally get to Mor Dhona along that path and the monsters on the other side are all in the 30s (though there's one 50+ Toxic Toad in a pond nearby, but he'sadorableignorable so not really an issue). Are there plans to make the trek to Mor Dhona less treacherous?
5. The selection of gear before the 30s seems a bit...sparse. Pants in particular are hard to come by. Will the new recipes coming next patch fill the gear gaps (or gear chasms, I should say) that are currently present at the lower levels?
6. I find the current strategy for Darkhold and Toto-Rak (don't actually fight anything and just run straight to the boss) kind of defeats the purpose of having a dungeon. Will this be addressed in the future?
7. I feel that the timer actually contributes to the "rush past everything" strategy because the rewards for fast completion are greater than those where you actually fight your way through. Are there plans to remove dungeon timers from the instances?
8. I find that, regardless of which class I'm playing, they tend to be pretty much the same; the melee classes build up TP and use their TP moves, while the mages spam nukes, and it's kind of boring. Contrast this with WoW, where each class, and even each spec of a class, has spells and abilities that make them distinct from each other not just superficially, but mechanically as well. Will the various classes be given more distinct playstyles than what they have currently?
9. Right now, the progression model for levelling is mostly grinding monsters for exp, whether you're solo or with a party; the instances and Ifrit, as well as the various quests that have been added, serve as little more than a diversion from that. What's the progression model for levelling going to be going forward; will it still be grinding, or will you adapt a quest progression model?
10. I see a lot of people on the forums heaping praise on FFXI's Chains of Promathia storyline, specifically the challenge it presented and what an accomplishment it was to have it done and have Sea access and everything, and they want similar content to be present in FFXIV. However, in my experience, people who completed CoP's missions once almost never wanted to do them again, even to help friends, which struck me as odd since you'd think that good content would make people trip over themselves to complete multiple times, and I suspect that CoP's legendary difficulty is to blame for this lack of interest after completion. Are there plans to incentivise players that have already completed such content to want to go back and do it again if it makes its way into FFXIV?
11. Odin sounds kind of like an HNM in that he will likely spawn in the world, but I'm worried that he'll encourage the same unhealthy behaviour I've seen people talk about regarding the ground kings of FFXI, where people would schedule their lives around the hunting of these monsters, not to mention horrible in-game behaviour (trying to train monsters onto people, using bots, being toxic to rival players, etc.). I'm hoping the dev team has a trick up its sleeve to foster competition between players for these monsters without letting any of the negatives to shine forth; I don't want to hear stories of players quitting their jobs or skipping school or dying at their computer desks to play this game, so I have to ask: How will Odin work?
12. Certain locations can be problematic to do leves in, particularly dungeons. Mun-Tuy Cellars, for instance, has lots of Poacher enemies that are in the high 30s free-roaming around the dungeon, and there are bats and other aggressive monsters which can pose issues to players attempting to do leves in these places. Is anything going to be done regarding where leve monsters spawn to avoid these enemies?
13. It seems that potions and other consumables see little use by the playerbase, whereas past Final Fantasies had you using potions, ethers, and other items liberally to recover between fights or to use as emergency aid. Will consumables be more important in the future?
14. In regards to PvP, Coliseum, by the name alone, sounds like it'll be similar to WoW's arena system where you'll compete against small teams of players (largest size a light party, maybe?) to earn rewards. I'm not sure what Frontlines could be though; since Yoshi-P is an admitted fan of Dark Age of Camelot, I'm hoping it's similar to Realm-Vs-Realm where you capture key points for your alliance in an open PvP area and it grants access to unique buffs and an open PvP bonus area. So how will Coliseum/Frontlines work?
15. I'd like to try something similar to the Magic Knight/Sorcerer job from FF5, where you'd enchant your weapon with spells you'd acquired (like the Red Mage En-spells from FFXI, only not crappy), changing your weapon's damage type to an element or letting your attacks poison or petrify your enemies. What kinds of new abilities and skills can we expect in the future?
16. It's really annoying to have to rely on 0-9 and the ALT and CTRL modifiers to use my skills; I'd like to be able to remap them to a position that's closer to my left hand for ease-of-use. I'd also like to be able to map abilities to the mousewheel and any extra mouse buttons like middle mouse and mouse button 4/5 on the side. Will keymappings be made more accessible before the UI overhaul in 2.0?
17. Previous FFs, including FFXI, always gave the impression that the summoner was never actually summoning a creature itself, but an avatar representing a portion of its power. I found it disappointing to hear that I'd not be able to have Ifrit or Bahamut or Shiva as a pet, which makes me curious what summoners in FFXIV will get to call upon. Why the choice to make Primals only summonable by Free Companies, and what will summoners summon instead?
18. Blizzard's Armory site for World of Warcraft has been one of the most useful tools players have had access to in that game's history. It provides detailed information on every character--their name, what guild they belong to, their class and level, their talent builds and glyph usage, and what gear they're wearing. It's handy for recruiting for raids when you don't know a person very well. Are there plans to expand Lodestone's functionality to offer services similar to WoW's Armory?
19. People spend years making game engines, and your own engineers seemingly spent at least 4-5 making Crystal Tools, making your timetable for FFXIV 2.0 highly suspect, as you're proposing to have v2.0 out by this time next year. How are you going to manage to develop a new game engine and server infrastructure in less than two years if you're not basing it off of Crystal Tools or Luminous? What parts of those engines/tools are going to be reused/refactored in the new engine to make this possible?
20. With a new engine, new client, new server infrastructure, and new everything on the way, it seems important to have those things tested thoroughly prior to live production lest problems arise; after all, you don't want problems with character data corruption or players falling through the world on your relaunch. Will there be a public beta test for v2.0 prior to its launch, and will non-paying account holders have access to it?
That's all for now. :3

Hope this is just copy/paste from previous live interview... we have this thread going so we can ask questions for the live broadcast too, correct? Most likely it's not so should be safe but just putting this out there so it's not only questions via twitter that's going to be answered like last time...Quote:
How to Submit Questions
Please follow the official FFXIV Twitter account (@FF_XIV_EN) and send tweets containing the “#XIVLive” hashtag during the live broadcast, or submit questions ahead of time regarding the future of FINAL FANTASY XIV.
and Yay it's midnight my time this time... I can watch it live for sure :D
Question: You had mentioned before that player housing would correspond with free companies. Will there be any private housing, ala ffxi moghouse, for private citizens who are not enlisted into a free company?
Question: As we move into a more PC friendly mapping scheme with keyboard and mouse will players who are used to only keyboard also be taken into consideration?
Question : will there be new feature for character creation for the old character ?
Question: Will we ever get to see the return of the stamina bar? The battles are managable to do solo and all, but the pacing of the battle is far too slow now and I was looking to quicken my progression as a Lancer.
Question: There is some speculation at the moment about releasing Final Fantasy XI for the PlayStation Vita. Could we expect to see the same thing for XIV and implement a sort of in-game voice chat feature for communication instead of having to type in text on a touchpad keyboard?
Question: What does the future hold for class/job/discipline development? Will the progression still be based on levels? Or will there be some sort of new method for development which will be more solo-friendly?
Question: What do you have planned for Archer?
With the coming of patch 1.19, archer was severely weakened, almost beyond use. The nerfing of archer was across the board, whether it be the animation lock for light shot, or just general ineffectiveness of their weaponskills compared to other damage dealing classes (the defining ensured 500 damage of Bloodletter was even removed, making the weaponskill useless). Being as archer is my favorite class, I am quite bothered by this change! Archers also must expend more gil than other classes because they must purchase arrows.
Question: Do you plan on having more than one job per class? What a neat idea the job system would be if say an Archer could change into a Bard or Sniper, and a Gladiator could become a Paladin or Blue Mage (or whatever combination it would be!)
So I have two questions, but I assume you need to choose just one, but i'll ask both anyway.
#1 Are we ever going to see an option as PC users to bind any action we want to any key. When I play games on the computer I usually have all of my abilities bound to the num pad and use Shift, Ctrl, and Alt to control each bars actions. While I use WASD to control my characters movement. Am I ever going to be able to do that? I ask just because this is the way I have played every MMO to date so i'm kinda stuck mentally on this setup. =)
#2 Are we ever going to see the inclusion of cloaks or capes for our characters? Traveling cloaks have kind of been a hallmark of fantasy adventures ever since the earliest fantasy books (The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings) I recognize some characters may not really look good in them like monks, but a paladin with a white and gold cloak would look amazing. Cecil Harvey anyone? ; )
Whenever we are allowed to make changes to our characters will new hairstyles, facial features, ect. be added?
Hey excuse me, will the Whitemage have reraise, because without it if he/she dies then someone will have to switch out of job to help him/her?
In regards to the big changes, I'm very excited about the change of field maps. Does this mean that cities will be changed as well? I understand the zones right now are repetitive but I enjoy the look of all the cities. And will the beautiful music in this game change at all? I miss the old music that was around in La Noscea before it got changed into 2 parts. It would be nice if they brought back that track to be played in the "new" La Noscea.
Any plans to bring out Chocobo breeding in a future patch or 2.0 and beyond?
Also, any plans for a dual wield class (ie. Thief, Ninja, or Dancer even?)
You mentioned a one-time character remake with the upcoming new races. Will we be able to change our name as well. (Just curious since if I decide to go male miqote or something my current name is too girly...) Also, Im hoping you'll give us a much larger choice of haircolor/skincolors to choose from. I would have loved to be Keeper of the Moon but with a bit more tanned skin, or darker red hair... like the Keepers of the Sun.
Lastly, when will we be seeing the "dated" stuff removed and some new gear and item recipes?
That being said, you have the current synthesis recipes listed on lodestone... Can you make some hovering tooltips that show us the item stats/etc so I dont have to go looking at other often non-updated websites to find out. :) That would be just fantastic!
There is Musketeers Guild in Limsa Lominsa. Will be this class/job/anything in next patches?
There's an interview with Yoshi where he says that Musketeer is a class that they want to release somewhere in the future, but that they feel that they should first add more magic based classes. This is because now there are only 2 magic classes and 5 physical classes.
He backs up his argument saying that they feel like adding what the game needs, not what is already there.
I'm curious about something. I haven't finished the storyline quests yet, but what will happen to the Path Companion in 2.0? From a certain point in the Storyline quest you will get to choose a Path Companion who will be joining you in the Storyline quests from that particular moment.
However, thats the only time i get to see my Path Companion. Since the it's already been announced that Chocobo's will get to fight alongside you in battles (see 2.0 concept screenshots), why not do the same with the Path Companion?
I think it would be cool if you can call your Path Companion and have it fight alongside you in order for it to gain levels (perhaps) or unlock skills through experience (or affection/bonding with the player). Something like an advanced "Fellow"-system used in FFXI.
Quoted for emphasis! I really hope this is the case. I see no reason for it to be 1 class / 1 job, but each class can have multiple jobs.
Some ideas! :D
Gladiator -> Paladin, BlueMage, Spellblade, etc.
Pugilist -> Monk, Geomancer, Berserker, etc
Marauder -> Warrior, Dark Knight, Templar
Lancer -> Dragoon, Samurai
Archer -> Bard, Sniper
Thamaturge -> Time Mage, Green Mage, Black Mage?
Conjurer -> White Mage, Black Mage, Summoner
--Unreleased Jobs
Arcanist -> Summoner, Chemist (really no idea here!)
Musketeer -> Corsair, Flintlock, Cannoneer
Thief -> Ninja, Assassin
The concept art makes me thing that the shroud is going to get very small. I like the size of the zones and I'm worrying that with change it will be smaller. the vast landscape is what makes running about outside exciting!
Will we be seeing changes to the LS management soon? like being able to remove/promote a player if they are in a different zone? I'd very much enjoy being able to remove/promote if they are offline as well... I didn't quite catch anything in the notes about it.
I'm concerned about paying for a work in progress. I understand and I am grateful for the whole SE team working so hard on this but I am uncomfortable paying for a work in progress. I've played since Sept. 30th and am wowed by all the awesome hard work you've all done, but the idea that it's an incomplete project still bothers me.
