6~7%. Damage resistance reduction does not affect damage over time effects. Also 'permanent additional party DPS' is actually calculable in a way comparable to other DPS, unlike the benefits of an additional Eye For An Eye, Virus, and Apoc. If you actually run the numbers the additional party DPS provided by a Dragoon to Bards doesn't actually make up the difference over taking a MNK or NIN doing ~15% more DPS until you somehow exceed 3 bards.

Do you even theorycraft?

Also, you can frequently use (every 30-60s ea, depending on CD): Swiftcast, Manawall, Manaward, and Aetherial Manipulation to either mitigate the need of movement as a Black Mage, or remove the DPS penalty from moving. No melee DPS can use a special skill to somehow remain in melee with a boss when he makes a big donut that forces you to be out of melee for 5-10s.

Scratch that, if the donut is physical then NIN can with Perfect Dodge. Chalk another one up against DRG, I suppose.

No, SE buffed black mage because the fix to umbral and astral tick in 2.1 ended up gimping their dps to the point nobody wanted to bring them to anything. I did not mean to turn the topic to blm vs dragoon. I just simply didn't see the logic of dps/utility equality only applying to one class.

I only wanted to say if the utility argument was an actual thing, then monks should have their dps nerfed or many class should get theirs buffed. Dragoon should be buffed because they are the weakest melee dps, not because they bring less utility. I didn't bring black mage into the discussion because i'm begging for a buff, i just choosed Blm because i'm more familiar with the class

Give DRG acces to Berserk as a cross-class skill.

Since they have less raid utility than MNK or NIN, they'd at least make better damage burst on their own.

Wonderful idea. At the end of the day which is best. 30% damage increase. Or 50% increased attack power.

Also, I was thinking that jump should always crit if performed at the perfect time of a full thrust animation. Like right when we land. We can use the momentum to jump and cause a crit.

Berserk is on too long of a cd, no thanks.

Compared to other cool downs that flats out increase your damage the wait isn't tling at all.

DRG + Berserk = Rated R for Rape.

The other DRG is going to be doing his own Disembowel, because skipping the ID->DE->CT combo would absolutely devastate a DRG's dps. So, no, there's no benefit for the other DRGs in the party.

blms aren't melee and have an inherent advantage over dragoons

- Buff to M.DEF
- Changes to the directional requirement of some actions (HT? ID?)
- Reduced CDs on certain skills (Jumps?), decreasing the increased damage from B4B (Holy shit this is gold!), and increasing the DoT damage on certain actions (Phle? CT?)

i'm going to wait and see what these adjustments will be (they sound awfully promising though) but change to positionals, the mdef buff and the b4b damage change are great, they are what in my honest opinion was needed, but, while i'm being honest, not expected. Very surprised and very happy to read this today, still wearing the smile i had on a few hours ago!

Yes, Im so happy they are making these changes to Dragoon. :D

Same as the beast tribes - the main movement of the tribe is to gain dominance of whatever they're seeking for, including the summon of their respective Primal. Just by having some few beast tribes "disagree" with their brethren, it doesn't justify the beast tribes as being an actually good faction.

Can't help but bring back this thread due to what I said prior. After the Midgardsormr quest, this COMPLETELY points back to everything i said in this thread regarding the Dragons and Ishgard lol.Can't wait for the big -I told you so- bomb drop when all the dirt of what Ishgard more than likely has done comes to light.
