Other games have complex healing because fights dish out more damage than can be healed, at a steadier pace, and healers have tools of varying efficiency to make MP management a real concern. Square won't radically change their fight design philosophy after six years of scripting every point of damage dealt by FF14's fights, so they're going to either have to improve healers on the DPS side of things, or nuke healer oGCDs from orbit and make MP management a major aspect of healer gameplay.
