Entitled DPS, please stop being entitled

The guy could have asked in a nicer way, but to be fair you were just as rude to ignore him and do whatever you wanted. The whole bad experience could have been avoided if you'd just replied to him and had a conversation about it instead of just going off and doing w/e you wanted.
This is a team game. You as a tank can no more do the run without your dps than they can without you or the healer, or the healer can without the tank or dps.

so let me ask this, your in a party of 4 yourself included as the tank, there are 9 mobs in same room grouped up by 3. you pull 1 of the group and start rotations, then dps decides that your not pulling enough and pulls the other 2 groups, now you have all 9 mob chipping away at the dps hp and yours before you have a chance to pick up the other mobs off the dps they die( because it hard to chase down a dps running around with its head cut off) now your down two players you the healer and 9 mobs...... its a wipe, whos are fault here? the tank because he didn't pick up the mobs that there dps pulled or the dps for not dpsing the adds that the tank had aggro on already?

All that does is produce a cycle of Bigotry.

For example: as a healer if I see a tank be overly forceful on their desire for the pace, I can 'forget' to heal him. After all, it's a lowbie dungeon and really tanks are there to learn how to tank, or for the roulette. I can keep up a DPS up or even just force through myself as healer on every dungeon up through Brayflox without difficulty.

A tank's job is not to control the pacing of the dungeon - that's determined by the group, and how comfortable everyone is with pulls. A tank's job is to keep the monsters trained on him, and as soon as he thinks that's optional based on personal desires, everyone else's obligations go out the window too. Talk it out, or part ways amicably.

Team > Any role in the party. The instant you think you're more important or control more than what the team desires, do everyone else a favor and see yourself out.

Try a boss without a tank or heal - you wont have a problem if there are no mechanics preventing you from only going on with one DPS. And im not talking about 15-30 stuff, because anyone can basically tank anything up to haukke easily as long as you got a heal thats on his toes (or even a arc/blm spamming physick)

And about the see yourself out Part: Remove the 30 min and ill gladly leave when someone pisses me off, BUT as long as i get a 30 min penalty for being forced to play any other way then i situationally decide to when i join as tank - which means: pacing lies in my role, you want it slower even tho quicker is in the groups capabilities (or faster and you pull stuff yourself even tho the group is not up for it),go die in a corner or play a tank yourself - you'll have to kick me if you don't like my judgment of group capability and pacing.

And know what, i won't even mind, because i wont have to deal with it anymore and can move on to other stuff (no im not one of that spiteful idiots that rejoin via progress when being kicked, the wait time is your problem, i wont make it worse)

and meh, wasting my time typing stuff that doesnt matter anyways - back to zodiac grind *sigh*

I come across players who regularly ask for a full run. Especially when they are somewhere between 45-50, as they are quite impatient to reach the "finish" line. That said, there are means to ask.

"Would you PLEASE kill everything ? I need exp" >>> Trick question : find the key word.

That said, I understand perefectly that a tank will refuse to comply if the player hasn't even enough politeness for a mere courteousy like "please". I main WhM and I don't tank at that level yet, but pulling extra mobs is the worst reaction anyone could be having. All the more as it was in Dzemael.


You wanna pull extra mobs and bring them to the tank ? Ok. It's better be your lucky day then, because if the tank refuses (his utter right) to grab them, I'm not gonna heal TWO tanks at the same time. Let alone 3. And obviously, you're not priority in my "to-heal" list.
Some of the areas in DD requiere full focus from the healer on the tank (the area where you can find red crystals/ toads essentially). You're walking in Aoe ? Fine, I'll heal you. You're making mistakes in your placing all througout the dungeon ? Fine I'll heal you too. You make things unecessarily harder for me by pulling extra mobs and act like a spoiled kid tank when you DON'T have the VIT and DEF to back it up ? No no no.

In all honesty, there are only a couple occasions I had to be a substitute tank. When I play as a DPS and I notice we forgot some mechanisms earlier in a dungeon, I'll usually say "I'm gonna do it, I'll catch up", and if by mistake, I catch an add on my way, I warn the tank immediatly and apologize.

Just a matter of respect. For anyone in the party.

The first "discussion" they had when entering the dungeon is about ethics, certainly. And you may, or may not agree with one's decision. But the tank knows best how many mobs he can handle. Anything "extra" is just increasing the risk of wipes.

Grab 6/7 mobs in that crystal and toads area and I'll be able to heal you all. Bring 8 or more ? Start praying Byregot, because I'm not likely to have enough mana or spellspeed to keep up with the damages done.

yup reading through all the comments its clear as day majority of tanks are the 1s with entitlement issues.. just some of thier attitudes are LOL good to see not all tanks are like that tho :3
