Random Question: How much dps would you expect from a drg who's 120 left side from WoD and 130 right with DW choker, earrings, both dw and poe ring, and poe bracelet? with 130 or 135 weap? Say in an instance like t11? Im not a drg main but ive grown to like the class more and was thinking about gearing it up. would something around 550-560 be a reasonable expectation in that turn or is that too low?

Nice, mine is diferent but I guess the problem is not the opening, it's how my tanks (don't) do the pull. We tank Bahamut south, so he comes aaaall the way to the south in the begining, then the MT do not stack with melees for Mega Flare, leaving a very ugly pool on my way. Besides that, due to latency, sometimes if I try to flee from Mega Red Pool running to and back from Bahamut's back, I often get killed by marked guys, even beeing back to my spot waaay before :(

It's decent, with the ilvl110 weapon. Roughly what I was getting.

Those melds need to go though. The full acc in the helm is a pure waste and you would even be better off with the IWS helm. Same with the legs and chest too. If anything, the demon chest I'd debate is a better choice over the Wootz one.

Those pieces were melded very early when 110 crafted sets came.out and was spending poetics on ninja and no WoD. Getting the poetic chest this week finally

480 sounds about right (simulated).

My intuition says the legs would be a better immediate purchase than the chest.

2nd bfb will be up right before a FT>phle, clipping by about.. 0.2-0.4s at 365 skillspeed. at lower skillspeeds you won't see the clipping, because you won't be late casting bfb for a 9th hit anyway.

ir drops before ls+ft
x-pot drops after ft
9th skill in bfb if applicable is ft
next bfb comes up before a FT, and then again for the 3rd one. 4th one will be up for a phlebotomize iirc

Mh...I tried this and while it seems solid and all, I can't seem to get that last Full Thrust with B4B. That was with 368 SKS, when I raid I usually have even less. I...just don't get it. I just mash Leg Sweep and after that B4B, which is what I see you do in the video. Is it a latency-related issue?

It very well could be a latency issue. For me to get 9GDCs in a BFB, even at 398SS, I have to perfectly time the BFB so its animation finishes right as my GDC is off, without clipping. Otherwise, I'll not be able to achieve it. 110ms EU latency represent!

I see. In that case I probably oughta leave my opening as it is till EU servers come. Then again, Italy isn't really known for its reliable connection either. How much does latency factor in terms of DPS loss to you, Dervy?

thanks for the advice ill get the legs should i look to get the wod hands as well or the poetics hands down the line before DW seeing as im using the soldiery hands still

Hurts me more quite a bit.

I have to play literally perfectly all the time to maximise DPS. Jumps can clip my GDC if I don't pay attention. If I don't spam my GDC's, my DoTs fall off earlier than they should. A lot of the time I have to delay my oGDCs otherwise I'll clip GDC.

EU servers are gunna be a blessing for us.

yep, just latency. some people can do it with less, some people need more. 365 is my lowest number that i can do it at.

generally i see it 3 tiers of latency affecting your dps

fitting in extra skills during buffs (9 skill bfb @ 365+sksp as an example) - excellent latency, cant get much better than that
not clipping your gcd during jumps and double oGCDs between GCDs without clipping (minus jumps) - alright/good latency, good enough
clipping your gcd with jumps/double buffs and not being able to use slightly late oGCDs - poor latency, [send help]

I'd recommend just holding onto the Sold gloves really and using the demon to get the Demon Chest first. It'll be a bigger upgrade than your chest piece atm. And just hold out for DW gloves since it's T10, and you have the belt already. DW gloves are BiS, so wasintg poe on the gloves is a waste.


Though the poe chest is BiS, since you can get demon chest piece to hold you out, I'd recommend updating your accs after your legs, first.

Then round that all up with the IWS earrings, or the crafted earring if you have the money.

So I'd recommend the following:

1st week: Poe Legs + Demon Chest piece. Try to get DW Gloves/Ring/Neck/Helm piece from T10/11.
2nd Week: Get IWS ring + Upgrade it. Still try to get the prior DW pieces.
3rd/4th Week: Get your Poe chest piece.
Then last remaining piece should be your IWS Earrings if you did not buy the Platinum crafted earrings.

If you are not seeing the necklace drop at all, you can try to upgrade your current one to the IWS, but I'd leave that till last since it's no where as good as the DW piece.

Lol, my condition fluctuates between the second and the last one described. At times (not often, thankfully) the jump locks me with the animation but does not do anything, interrupts saying "You can't use that ability yet", and then it resets the cooldown as well...in those moments it even cancels the highlighted skill for the combo I'm executing, although the next attack still registers as combo'd. Meh. About the opening, given the latency, what would you suggest?

This is a nice guide, I just hit Lv50 with the Dragoon and actually like it!
I wanna ask if someone that is on PS3 like me or simply is using a controller/pad can help me to optimize my hotbar. I find a little hard to use the OGCD skills like Power Surge, and jumps between IDC and TTT combos. With a controller it looks like im playing piano ;_;
In R2 I have the TTT combo + HT and the IDC combo + Ph
In L2 I have all buffs + Leg Sweep and all Jumps + power surge.

This is where I'm at right now since my static hasn't been able to clear T11 just yet (lol). My parse for tonight on T10 was 456 so barring a few mistakes I made here and there that I remember I think I'm doing okay? Not sure how much I should REALLY be expecting to push with my gear.

Also I haven't seen anybody say anything since Dervy was messing with the calculations for the crafted BiS and was wondering what the opinion on set 2 (from page 468) was at this point. If I remember correctly it came out as the best set DPS wise from his testing by just a hair. I remember set 1 being heavier stat wise but lower in his DPS tests so I'm avoiding even thinking about those crafts right now.

I have a question, If i do BFB in t13 during earthshakers and the tank cover me, do the tank takes more damage? Just wondering!

is going max det/crit on my relic(which is what im currently doing, like 13 alex to go) the best option?

I have HT and IDC combo on L2 face pad and phleb and TVF combo on R2 face pad so it's easier to move while doing these. Bfb, IR, mercy stroke and leg sweep on my L2 d pad and ps, jump, ls and dfd in right d pad. I have it set up so it's pretty much my burst from left to right across the hot bar. Expanded hotbar I have other jumps, aoes, invig, other cross class skills, and pots. If you ever get a ps4 you can have other hot bars on screen where I set my pots, invigorate and spineshatter dive, so I can see when these are back up without activating my expanded controls.

Have a swap around til you find the set up that is most comfortable for you :) but I do recommend having a combo on each face pad

Is that merged or unmerged? Highest I've seen on 13 was lower when unmerged, so I'm curious if yours was merged or unmerged or what. Got a pic?

Also, general question. I normally hold blood for blood till right before a dot so it gets applied onto every move in the DRG rotation. Should I be using it the minute it's off cooldown? Like let's say it comes off cooldown right after Phlebotomize on the first part of the rotation, so would you have blood for blood up for TT combo->Heavy Thrust->TT combo again and it falls after right before/after phlebotomize, or should I keep doing what I'm doing and hold it till right before the next dot? (Right before Chaos Thrust in first part of rotation, right before phlebotomize or chaos thrust in second part of rotation, right before phlebotomize in 3rd part of rotation).

Part 1: HT->ID->Dis->CT->Phleb->TT->VT->FT
Part 2: HT->TT->VT->FT->Phleb-> ID->Dis->CT

Nope, it isn't the "only option". The second best is going for 19 Acc, then something like 25 DET and 31 CRT on novus, like I have. Once it becomes a Longinus, the 21 accuracy becomes the bare minimum for some seriously extreme min/maxing.

If both become i135 next patch, they'll both be better than the DW spear, and the DPS difference between both spears, gear wise, is only, what? 0.3?

Those are the only two options.

What should my DPS be around? Although I'm not in a static, I have been PFing some T10s and have the mechanics up to the final phase pretty much solid. Only reason I'm PFing is cause I can't seem to find a static for my available times.

I know my weapon is kinda lacking (can't get poetic one since I can't yet, get to the point where I can get encrypted tomestones, and on the relic side, haven't even done my animus yet for my DRG.)

You should be getting about 700 DPS with that gear. 800 once you can upgrade the weapon.

Are you wearing pieces of i110? If so, 430-450 is a good range you should be aiming for personally.
