Housing sucks, make it instanced and equal opportunity, other games have done it better and ffxiv has no excuse
Not signed. Unsubbing instead probably.
I would rather sign for a dev headhunt after today's Shirogane housing savage and the "server congestion kicked out" debuff some of us got...
I DID work hard though, months and months of preparations. Aquapolis marathons every fucking week. Only for my hopes and dreams to be dashed in less than ten minutes because I was too far back in the line. (and I hit the play button at 12:00pm sharp when the servers opened.) "Privilege, not right." You say. Thats all fine and dandy, but when I qualify for said privilege and I can't get it because I have 1500 people waiting in line to log in before me. THEN WE HAVE A BIG FUCKING PROBLEM!

I know so many FCs missed out on getting housing for themselves.

Right?! So many houses bought up in personals, 90% of the mansions on mateus? Personal, also empty and will probably stay empty. I know people that keep subbed JUST to keep those houses empty and so no one can have them.

Hell; I'll fly to Japan and work with them on how to implement proper server scaling.
Well, I guess I have to admit that working hard does not always cut it. I had to resort to plan B today, when plan A failed.
But luckily failing once does not doom anyone to sad lifetime of houselessness.
Also minimizing risks is perfectly possible, doesn't even require thinking outside the box. Or are you saying you did not expect there to be hundreds of people in line with you?
Ugh I'll Signed /signed

Hoeing should be available for all, not some. Its ridiculous that not every play can have a house if they want one. Housing needs to be either everyone or just FCs or something because this broke system is crazy!
I wonder if the "Hitler finds out...." meme is out yet. We'll most likely get that before we ever get a response from SE.
"Minimizing risks." Okay then, I started logging in as soon as the servers went online. I was already in the housing ward. But how do you plan for a 1500+ login queue? sixty properties between divisions and subdivions. Times twelve wards is 720 properties.I'm sure you can do the math... but in case you're an idiot, because you certainly write like one. Thats less than half the number of people in line before me, and everyone behind me. By the time I'd logged in, every property in Shirogane was sold, the properties in old districts that had been relocated? Also sold. IT WAS ALL GONE IN TEN FUCKING MINUTES. HOW DO YOU PLAN FOR THAT?!?! TELL ME BURMECIA-SENPAI-SAMA
I had to delete most of your quote because how absurd your thinking is. These people pay their subs allowing all of us to have fair updates. So everyone is contributing to you having your house. The problem is housing is a part of the main game that comes with a sub. Add ons can be purchased at the mog station housing is not an add on therefore it’s not in the Mog Station. Since housing is a main part of the game it shouldn’t be exclusive to the 2% who are lucky but to everyone because it is a main part of the game. To say people aren’t working hard is ludicrous and you can have plan a, b or c if you can’t even log in because errors it’s clearly not the users fault it’s SE.
I'll add my +1 to this as well. This wouldn't outright solve the issue, but it'd at least be better than doing nothing.
As a new player this whole thing seriously threw me for a loop. I never thought of how insane people could get about this.

I'm not sure if there's anything else that needs to be said. Instanced or not, everyone deserves to get a house with enough effort. This exclusivity doesn't work when we all pay for this game.
If only we can extend this petition to other languages, especially Japanese player base lol.
To note:
1. Threatening to cancel subscription will not likely the urge housing changes.
2. Do not try and call out greedy sellers and traders on Housing Market Subreddit. GM already stated that they will take no action outside of game. Even if you want to report someone, need in game screenshots as evidence etc, and hope that GMs will be actually bothered to do anything about it.
3. /slap emote whoever that tells you that casual content like housing is irrelevant and you are only making a fuss (maybejokingmaybenot).
Months of planning, three comps logging in at same time constantly to check for login capability at "uptime", logged in to have first round of logins crash immediately, come back in with around 1000 in line. Everything was sold on Faerie within 10 minutes, 15 tops.
The bottom line is that SE is literally driving players away. My wife spent months prepping so we could "maybe" get a large plot. They knew they would have thousands of players lining up for hundreds of plots. They knew, and they didn't change anything. The largest servers run the biggest risk of driving players away, and still they do nothing to change it.
There are thousands of posts with all sorts of answers to this problem. SE just. doesn't. care.
/signing is pointless, but I'll even try the pointlessness, because I'm desperate to get a large plot. But ultimately, our family is another 3 more accounts that will be going offline once our time is up. Because SE won't change a thing.

really was disappointed today..
Gladly! Signed.
Signed for add more wards!
I know your feeling. It will be bad if you have to buy from current landowner with expensive price. So, I sign for this.
For me, housing is one of my ultimate goal in this game. I've it before this patch came yesterday. And, I bought it from ex-landowner at high price. However, I met good neighbors there. Also, I enjoy my life there everyday too.
So, I wish to see people enjoy housing contents with reasonable price. Please add more wards by scaling players in server.
It will be good if SE add housing contents at Ishgard too.
Conclusion:
In my opinion, adding more 3 wards will be reasonable enough.
So what thread will be made when they make three more wards and you guys dont get your houses in that either?
/signed Housing in this game is ridiculous and has completely killed any goodwill I have for this game
but just to show frustration! SIGNED!
How about another point of view: you play willingly on server, assuming it indeed is Balmung, with around 25,000 players. That is your choice, and right. No one is forcing you to leave, your reasons to stay are valid. You realize these servers are intended to hold far fewer people.
You have no choice but to accept that congestion level of your chosen server affects your chances to access into certain limited resources.
Also, you may accept that the fact that every server indeed has the same number of wards indicates that SE sees housing as legitimate incentive for player population to spread evenly throughout the datacenter.
Server with 25,000 players vs. say, for example, 7000 players. Both will have 720 new plots. On which server your chances are better?
How the vague feeling of entitlement to house, or something like that, translate into right to own house within system that is designed and intended to have finite number of houses? It simply doesn't.
Off-topic: using disagreement as an excuse to disrespect others tells something interesting about your personality.
SIGNED!! Long day at work went early to make it off for this! Que to sign in and within first 5 mins of server being up every house was sold. We all saved since 2016 to get sb housing and crazy ppl selling for inflated prices too limited for too much money > , >

That happen to me and the most of players. System says, plot is free but already taken. Wasting time for NOTHING

Housing & more to the point the lack of it is ridiculous. What happened today was a slap in the face to all the excited players. Who puts its availability up after a full maintenance? Idiots thats who. That makes it dumb luck if you can log in in time & get to a plot, it should have been done as a soft release a few hours after maintenance so that everyone could have gotten log'ed into the game. That would have at least been slightly fair. But what actually happened this morning was as the servers went back up the game launcher for many people glitched. Simply would not let people log in after clicking the log in button. It was several minuets before it allowed many of us to start loading the game. Then we had to deal with the log in queue that has always sucked. It took myself & many FC mates the better part of 12-15 min to log in & by then every single plot in all 4 residential zones was already sold. Do what you gotta do but add more wards. A LOT more. Consider this petition signed.
Hello everyone.
I have been waiting 3 years to get a Large house for my family.
I got enough gil to buy 2 large already and still cannot.. today my girlfriend, which also wanted this a lot, cried, and I don't even want to play the game anymore.
We did everything in our reach, pre downloaded patch, was up the second the servers were up, client lag, mindless rush and login queue destroyed it. I spent the next 3 hours asking people in tells if anyone wanted to sell theirs. But of course they will not.
We don't raid hardcore or such.
We don't want to feel special. We don't want to be those 2% hardcore players.
We just wanted to have a big house to fill with hundreds of stuff and have fun in game.
And no, apartments are not the same.
FF used to be a game to relax, but now it has been just stress and it's not a cheap game, so I pay to feel stressed.
I will unsub, and maybe come back one day.

I can't tolerate this. Me and a couple of friends (who were/are total beginners) created a small fc and farmed money for the last half year for this, only to get overrun, mostly by people who already have a plot. I pay a sub to get fair and equal access to content. This system locks us out of gardening, air ships and more. This game might as well be f2p with a system like that.

my fc wanted to get a house for the fc features and cause we knew that individually getting a house would be impossible
Coming from SWTOR, by the time I quit I have fully decorated and unlocked the Yavin and Tatooine strongholds as well as having the guild ship for myself (as 50% of the cost was brought with my money, I was given the privilege to decorate it as I see fit). SWTOR is a F2P dying game and yet it does housing better than the supposedly No. 2 subscriber-based MMO in the world.
I still have my small house in LB so I'm not too salty, but the launch of 4.1 was simply atrocious. What is the point of delaying Shirogane launch when our chance of actually getting into the game at the time of launch was the same as passing Raubahn Savage? They did not learn from SB launch at all.
My heart is breaking reading some of the posts in this thread.
I've been playing since 2.1 ... I was around back when there were empty plots for months even on Gilgamesh.. Balmung. Where a Free Company had to work for months together to afford the huge costs.
You listened to the cries of your customers then and you lessened the price. Still some people cried about having to have to be in a large group to get access (A free company) so you made it so individuals could buy one..
but now the game is popular and you're cursed with a product everyone wants.
There's so much hidden behind a Free Company both in gameplay value AND the sense of community-building having a company house provides.
I almost wish I had a 1000 houses to give to some of the people I've read about in this thread.
It's unfair to the new player. It's unfair to the new Free Company. It's just unfair.
If it was a prestige item it should reflect time put in, it should reflect achievement... not luck and ping.
sounds good
I'm not butt hurt over not getting a house, what I am mad about is the fact that people can own multiple houses. There are players/FCs that purchase as many plots as they can and then resell them to other players. This should not be allowed!
/signed.
It's ridiculous that only 10% to 20% of players on a server can own a home due to scarcity.
Signed! I’m down for this
