Side note: regarding your other posts, it seems to me that only your opinion matters to you so it would be a waste of time to feed you with more posts and not get anywhere. I said what I had to say in this thread with two post earlier...

I really hate the time when I need to walk to 4-5 camps per local leves reset, so I use teleport whenever it is ready to compensate the frustrated feeling. I m not sure if Chocobo will drop me at first camp and run away just like most FFs or not. but if that would be the case, then it gonna be troublesome to walk back to city to hire new chocobo for (4-5 rounds).

I have mage job to r50 as shown in my sig, but I m still against such a favor-mage system that give them exclusive to teleport access. Since DoW will get nothing, this will bring unfairness and ask majority to rank up a mage to teleport then back to Gla to fight... silly idea..

If mage players gonna petition for this exclusive teleport, then warriors will also petition for Wind walker that allows DOW only to walk super fast for 10 min long.

Keep anima, but seriously hurry up with the chocos and airships. If they would've had this at first, hardcore players would have felt less inclined the entire game to burn through all their anima in a week. They would've conserved a lot more, which is what will happen when they introduce chocos and ships.

The current system is bifurcated, you're either casual and burn as much anima as you gain, or you're hardcore and eventually have to walk everywhere. Nothing in between. The whole game's basically like that.

Only burning as much as you gain - I wouldn't describe that as casual, just using common sense. I tend to do that and use a mix of returns (death warps until return cost is set to 0), walking (making use of the DoL speed abilities where possible) and considered use of favorited camps to make travel as efficient as possible. Doing this i usually manage to keep my anima high so that I have plenty in reserve for instances where i need it - and if i do have to burn through more than usual one day, then i just have to run a bit more for the next few days maybe, no big deal.

No I understand what you are saying. You are entitled to your own opinion and thoughts, which is alright. I get it though they can remove it when the chocobo's are released, we will have to hope to be near an area and find one of the npc's to move about. We will then get to our next area be it a camp or a dungeon then since there is no chocobo npc walk all the way back through an already excessive world map (the area's are too huge), from which it takes us 25-60 minutes to get back to gridania, ul'dah, or limsa, when all we have to do is teleport back for 2 anima, or hitch a ride, or hit return, to be back where we wanted or recall a camp.

If they removed it it would most likely suck, unless like other posters have said give teleport abilities to THM, i'll rank it up in a heart beat by then, just for that alone. Make it exclusive to THM also, that would solve it, if you do not have THM 40+ no abilities, no teleport, just keep walking and walking to do camps, and leve quests, DOL/DOH quests, main storyline quests, all after getting off chocobo and not being close enough go get one again.

I'd like to see it go entirely. I'd love for them to make the teleporting abilities more desirable skills for some high rank classes only obtainable by a very hard quest.

It would also make people communicate more via tele-whorage and party-planning would be more interesting.

More than anything it would make the world feel more whole. Seeing people disappear all the time makes the game feel really disconnected and antisocial. Especially since the draw distance of other players is already one of the worst ever. You could be standing at a full camp but for several seconds you'll only see empty space.

Teleporting freely, ruins/breaks/f***s this game for all players. Some aren't even aware of it.

1. The world feels empty because you rarely see players running across the landscape. They're not encouraged to unless they have no anima or get bored because they've been teleporting too much.
Edit: That's why players despise running now because they're used to teleporting there freely. Which is why I suggested making us atleast run to aetherytes, so that the idea of running doesn't seem so time wasting/boring/long

2. It makes the game able to be rushed and the game doesn't feel large scale anymore.

3. It will make chocobos and airships worthless.

The majority of all players will still teleport. Your in denial if you don't think so.

4. All areas looses its potential "Goddamn it took me a long and hard time to get here, but it sure was worth it!" feeling.

Imagine freely teleporting to FFXI's Norg, FF7's Round Island or FF8's Battleship Island?
Totally sucks the enigma from those places when you can see them whenever you want without any kinda effort.
Point...click....your there...ooooh Norg.

If it stays people will have a false sense of achievement of the game. Making it very boring to most adventurers, real fast.

Don't remove it, just severely limit this game hindering system.

If they're not going to replace anima teleport for an efficient point-to-point transportation system similar to flight in WoW/Aion, it's a terrible idea to remove it altogether... in that case, I'd rather we kept anima teleport.

I agree with Mushy; a lot is lost with the current anima system. The FFXI set up was much better. Being able to have a friend tele you to all the places in the world in 5 minutes from the start of the game takes away an important aspect of final fantasy gaming. The current teleporting system takes away the adventure.

I wonder how many people who want to keep anima as is "Or even buff it...whut?" Have or want a fridge beside their computer so they don't need to waste extra time moving to the kitchen.

No seriously though, I really don't get why people hate the anima system. It's great to help get over long distances or just cut the bullcrap of waiting fo airships/etc. when you're in a rush. It shouldn't be the only traveling option, but saying it should be removed is a bunch of crap.

The OP wanted the whole system gone but in the last 40 pages, the discussion was to limit it, not removed.

Whay are people jumping to exaggerated conclusion, like if bird droped you off in far away location, you'd have to run back on foot entirely. Chances are there is going to be Chocobo rental(guessing) at main Camp Crystals, also no one wants the entire Anima system gone but limit it so its not spammed and kills aspects of the game, and use it only for LONG DISTANCE teleport.

I wanna be able to /login > Uldah > Port to camp > take chocobo > go to my dungeons > do other stuff > /logout

NOT /login > Uldah >loading screen > Dungeon> loading screen > Uldah/do other stuff > /logout!

Then don't use anima, use chocobos instead.

Your problem is solved without forcing other players to travel for the majority of their limited gametime.

Like I said... try out the hairships and chocobos, then think about if it's smart to remove them.

You guys fail if you want the teleporting gone, That is a fix to a ff11 issue which was that god forsaken needing a mage to teleport. it used to be 500g, now your luich @ 10K >.>

Hi, I seen someone mention that we should keep the anemia or w.e it's called for the casuals, and they assume the non-casuals will burn through their anema or w.e and begin to rely on mage teleports.

My worry is that SOMEONE in a 8 player party will have 4 anema, and can teleport the entire party. Mages will NEVER be needed.

Also, mages will be competeing their telewhoring with [Anema] [Do you have it?]

I don't think Teleporting should be an active skill that you have to assign to your bar which it would be it were required to be a mage class skill. Its a waste of a slot in combat at that point.


Please do not make it into a skill.

in FFXI could you actually control where the bird went? or was it just you pay for it, fades to black and you find yourself at your destination?

You guys know how you can ask another person to duel in WoW?

Would it not be awesome if you could do the same thing in FFXIV, but with chocobo racing?

Pull up to a certain spot, catch someone on the other side, then start racing?

To be honest, removing aethertye teleport just to turn it into a spell sounds a little hypocritical to me. "Make it so only mage classes can do it so I can make MONEY off of it." And if you are going to turn around and give me "Well, the wonderful part of FFXIV is that everyone can level a mage class so we can all get teleports!" Then what is the point at all from removing the original system?

I agree that just because you don't like a certain system doesn't mean you should force everyone to not use it as well. The current teleport system fits in with the lore of the game. If you don't like it, don't use it.

Nobody is holding a gun to your head to use teleports. If there are alternate forms of transportation some day, you're free to use those instead of Anima to teleport, nobody is stopping you.

Already been said, and already been argued against, and this topic should have ended ages ago when we all pretty much agreed that there is no point in talking about it until the patch where they add more transport options.

No one here is seeing the bigger picture. First off chocobos will probably only be 10-30% more then our running speed. Airships will take time to use. Prob about 5 min. Now time for the bigger picture. Once the leve "nerf"/ fix is in place i bet players will find camps/roam parties more.

You want the fastest travel to not make your party wait, and to get the most of the grouping. Due to the new leve rules and rewarding, people will not be in Ul'dah all the time. And if you are starting a party in ul'dah people will need a fast way of getting there.

You guys are also putting you pessimisic pov on others, which is rude and wrong. Do not get on SE for how ppl choose to play. And do not force people to play like you. Do not cry for the removal of a fast travel option over sillyness

Remember ffxi only started with chocobo and those teleports crags. Then people had issues reaching parties in a decent time so SE came out with out post warping. Which cost gil to do. These helped with travel getting to your place faster. Like a party camp, quest location etc. The sence of adventure doesn't have to come from traveling on foot/by choco to an out of way location, nor does most ppl have the time to do that type of travel.

I highly suggest that those who want the removal of teleporting to camp. Go play final fantasy 11 and only use chocobo or airships to get to your parties. Find out what happens :)

Anbd for the person who asked about choco in 11. It is player controled. You had roughtly 1-3 hours with it. That is going fron any home nation to jeuno taking the long way. Never using zone short cuts.

also the tidal ingame item in ff11 does have a norg warp.

I also suggest people understand a tedious game isn't a fun game. And what you "hardcores" keep asking is for a tedious annoyence.

takanaka and the old crew were not done with the current mode of tansformation.. do you forget how long it takes ot travel? want to take 60 minyes getting to place to place.. then die because of a mistake/ or get stuck with non warp...

If you don't like Anima, simply don't use it, Yoshi-P says he still likes the whole Anima deal but it will probably be tweaked to some extent. FFXIV is a full hardcore game no matter how much you want to it be and it will keep the Anima system to cater to the casual MMO players that the game was aiming for. As a hardcore player I really enjoy the benefit of having Anima at times I don't feel like hoofing it on foot. I generally always have over 80 Anima because I am the type of player who will run from point A, to B to C and maybe port back to town. Sure it would be neater if they had a similar approach to FFXI Tele and warp system but at the time they do not and I enjoy what they do have for the time being.

Some people wish to remain ignorant to the problems anima will cause the game if left unchanged and are making this into an "Us Vs. You" argument, which it is not.

Fact remains, if anima is not changed, I will never have a need to use gil sink transportation, because anima is plentiful.
I know I'm not the only person who spends anima wisely and always has 70-80 available.

I only hope SE considers this a problem too.

In other words, you have the freedom to go play how you like and use a chocobo if you want while I have the freedom to go play how I like and use anima if I want and this is EXACTLY how Yoshi-P would like the game to be developed - to include many different options for players to choose from to have fun with while playing the game.

agreed. remove this useless thing. Teleporting and warp should be a mage ability. implent chocobo and airships and you can travel however you want. and if this is not enough for the spoiled ones, the developers could add a train in Thanalan that starts outside uldah.

Maybe reducing max anima value. 50/50 + mounts instead of 100/100 ? But thats just an option, I like anima :-) but haha I am on 0, so I will bless chocobo.

Make outposts warp type of transportation(like the one we had in ffxi)

Sorry but my PGL has cure3 and sacrifice3, so that makes no sense, and the armoury system makes no sense too by that definition. Seeing as I can just equip or on the spot equip my weathered cane (I currently dont have/have a use for CON weapon anymore) and use it anyway.

PLAY HOW YOU WANT! Thanks Yoshi, oh and I have ~30 anima because I'm nice, and I tele you conservative ppl around when you don't wanna spend your own hoard of anima. Thank god for chocobos so I can save my anima back up a lil faster.
