That wouldn't be true for an mmo where people have invested years into their warrior of light by collecting mounts, achievrments, relics and minions.
I think not all jobs should be complex, but some jobs must stand out. For options.

This, honestly.
The casual players aren't the problem, most casual players I know are content with being good enough to do the content that they frequently do. The most likely reason that job simplifications happen is because of ease of balancing for the dev team.
Job simplifications also really only benefit the mediocre raiders who think they're better than they are. Those raiders who claim anything that they cannot play around as 'clunk', they then demand the removal of all this 'clunk' so they never have to learn how to play the job well.
I'd honestly wait til 8.0 rather than them releasing something half-assed in 7.3. I understand the point, but game design isn't easy.
If tanks and healers need to be 4 shades of the same class to balance them (which they still can’t balance them as there is still >10% discrepancies that pop up regularly) they need to either hire more people or give up, admit they can’t balance supports and do something else
This is what was already teased and what will likely happen. Unfortunately, SE might not comment on it any more, because if they tell people that changes will come in a couple of years, some players will instantly cancel their subscriptions until they see what 8.0 has in store. It is safer to be silent for the time being, giving hope that they might start changing things in 7.2/7.3, which is very unlikely in my opinion (except the already discussed changes to Viper, which nobody wanted lol).
Cancellations will happen eventually, I believe, but not immediately and in a way "forced" by the Devs themselves commenting on it.
You know casual used to mean people such as yourself and others who just wanted to enjoy the game and not do the hardest content (although they would still participate if invited). I've been an mmorpg player since EQ 1999 and back then, even for a long time up through a few WoW expansion, casuals were just people that liked to group and do content, even if it was hard and even if they failed because MMORPG's used to be about the adventures you had with your friends and/or the friends you would make. So whilst I am sure you didn't like my post because you felt it was targeting you, if the things I said did not apply to you, then it clearly isn't meant for you (not being rude either :P) which also means that I need to correct my misuse of the word casual.
Maybe we just need a new term/definition for this group of individuals whom we've spoken about that isn't derogatory :D
