There have been very few people on our side saying that they think doing things for the open world and the Carnival content were a waste of time and resources. Most of us have said we have no problems with the Carnival and actually hope it does well and content like it would be expanded or at least a form of it for all jobs. We are against a job having these types of restrictions especially when we think the reasons given for it are very poor. New content is fine but a new job that's in its own little box that is pushed into the corner of the game is bad and will possibly be forgotten as it collects dust. Especially when that new job is as requested as blue mage.

We have a vibrant forest, a vibrant prairie, a vibrant mountain, and, now, a vibrant coast! You can see each of them in their respective green screen rooms.

The problem is that we've yet one more thing that interacts with only its own isolated playset, just adding onto the precedent for separate rooms rather than trying to create a cohesive world from and between them. Neither it being just another job nor it being a limited job help in that regard. It would need to be a real job, which changes the limits for the rest.

Well I was going to give my 2 cents but seeing OP ignore all counter agurments while walking down to those that disagree with her made me realize it would be pointless.

OP if you make a thread be prepared to have people disagree and be prepared to defend your position with solid agruments. ( Hint telling people they are wrong is not an agrument)

No, we didn't forget that we're playing an MMO. It seems that everyone gobbling up this idea of Blue Mage in XIV have forgotten what MMO stands for initially at it's core. A massive multiplayer online video game, not a single-player RPG with solo jobs that only work for a fraction of the entire game's content to offer. The game is SUPPOSE to get more people wanting to party and work together in relevant content, promote more community togetherness, not "Here's a job you can play as a solo minigame without ever actually being responsible for working with your party members as a team. Enjoy".

Honestly being either firmly supportive or critical seems like a huge waste of time and effort at this point. As some have pointed out, yes we can make inferences based on the information we have, but the information we have is not very much, and the inferences we can make are limited by our expectations. Conversely, while nobody has actually played the job yet, it's valid to make certain assessments of the job vis-a-vis the the knowledge we've built from several years of playing the game. Flounce threads and effusive praise are both hyperbolic reactions to fairly limited information.

Information provided. Also what most people are complaining about. None of the anti-BLU crowds are complaining about things we don't know, or that hasn't been heavily implied by the devs. Yoshi-P saying we can't take BLU into raids because of Level 5 Death is more than enough information to go on. Yoshi-P basically saying they're not going to make the absolute minimal effort to make game-breaking skills not game-breaking, despite few other games in the series letting such skills actually work on bosses, is more than enough to go on.

We don't know a lot about blue mage just yet as you said. Will there be built in traits or will it be based on which spells you set like how it was on XI? Will there be a level needed to learn some spells or some other requirement or none at all? These are the things we could speculate on.

The side that I'm on, the unhappy side, are not fighting against things that they didn't present during the live letter. We are fighting against this slide and their reasons why it is this way.

Rest of blue mage looks great so far BESIDES this slide and the reasoning.

I am sure in future we will be able to raid...well I hope so but I am glad its not a boring rotational job again :) and I love the fact I will have to learn spells just like in XI. It will be brutal but fun. I hope they make the carnival fun it would be great if it was like BCNM's.

Yes through PF so you can't do your weekly normals for tokens (unless PF).
Savage people generally PF anyway so that's not even gonna be a problem (given BLU can do savage/extreme content in PF to begin with).
